Boomers are a most unusual thing.
I have 2 oz of them in a jar....and...well man that lasts a really REALLY long time.
1 flush of boomers....you are good for a while. After I went to jupiter the last time...i am good for a while.
And tolerance.. HA Boomers are waiting for that mental idealism to fester in your head so they can REALLY bitch slap you around like a Baba Yaga
But your mileage may vary
I used to say useless as a bag of hammers...but they have use.
Useless as a bag of boomers is more apt... I have NEVER had someone ask again if i had them...1 trip and done. yetis are serious..
And its that shrill whistle that irritates...close your eyes and visualize but hear a whistle more shrill than the caterwaul of an ex wife..
That being said...i might nibble a cap this week.
Last year though...i did eat 8 oz of boomers in a year

The wife has been micro dosing them lately. I have enjoyed that. ?
I might give it a go after I'm feeling 100% again.
I'm growing white teachers but have Steel Magnolia, Blue Magnolia, PE swabs. Never know what may come

If anyone reading this has never used the monobag kits from Midwest, I've had superb results. I bought one of the liquid culture kits, and used that to knock up the grain jar(s) that monobag kit included. I've ran several over the last year, will continue to do more.
These days I'm all about bonehead simplicity, the combination of these kits offers just that.

That's where I got my grain bags. I will probably order my substrate from them next week. Would you get the regular or the cow manure mix?
I might grab a monobag to try also.

This is the casing mix I got with the monobag kit. I have no idea which mix is better.
What I do know, is my liquid culture from a G-teacher spore syringe, has put off 3+ dried zips per monobag kit.
I did have one bad grain jar,(1 of 6) but it was in the box for several months before I opened it.

Before the turn of the century, I used a Homestead Kit, did the full agar plate to PF Tek method. I'm glad I understand that process, but the liquid culture and monobag system (for me) is the cats ass.

Got my 2/ 2.5 5-grain bags and 10 plates of black agar today.
But I also got a surprise, since ive been a good boy, the wife hooked me up.
what to go for first? Definitely the syringe, it's easy. I'm a little intermediated by the spore prints. I feel like I got more room for error.
I'm turning the 2x2 into the mushroom ?

This was purchased as the Drew's Mystery Box option. She said she had no idea what to pick. I think I got some pretty good option.
I'm going to get my area cleaned up this week and try to get some plate work gone. Not sure how many pics I will get but hopefully I can get a few shot of how I'm going to go about it. I'm thinking of inoculating both bags with the Gulf Coast syringe for ease. I want to agar the Blue Magnolia as I've had bad luck with it. I'm thinking my temps were way too high in the grow room.
I will agar all the swabs and get some swabs for the spore prints. I'm sure I could share ?
I'm so slow to take action, but always accumulating info for the future.

This is exactly what I did a week ago on a spawn to spawn transfer! Except I was also running 2 UVC w/ ozone lights inside the box. I’ve killed contamination with these lights. A must have!!
Looked into UVC ozone bulbs - will investigate more, but have them on the "maybe" list.

Do any of y’all know about outdoor cultivation of food varieties of mushrooms more so the lion’s mane? Or maybe just a few answers about using bags outdoors?
It's so hot and dry down here, I haven't considered.

Yea oyster are really cool and I have the hay to keep it sustainable but I actually have a buyer for lions mane so I was looking for a way to keep it up after I have cut all the trees I want to lose. Right now it’s a few of honey locust and some post oak.
