Mushroom Cultivation

Just placed an order for some Pearl Oyster Mushrooms in one of the ready to go bags from a local dude. Will be my first attempt at growing mushrooms of any kind. Super excited
Just ordered a 24 watt t5 light for it. And I’ll plop it in an empty 2x2 tent. Any one have any tips for a complete noob? :D

edit: was thinking just a spare 6” fan laying on the top port to vent with a bottom mesh vent open for exchange. Only let ambient light to the bag until the pins are up while spraying lots and then give it some light until they grow into foods?

Wanted to make sure to share these since many new peeps are getting into myco.

The following 2 books are avail in our resources area, and have a plethora of great information. Parameters, diagnosing contamination etc. I would definitely recommend all to check them out.

First two things I downloaded.
I'm currently reading Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms now. Very easy read. I went from not even being aware of most mushrooms to growing my own. I even ordered some of Paul's mushroom supplements.
This guy is awesome he wrote that first book when he was 19.
Has a movie on Netflix now, very good but I like documentaries.

Top does look a little funky....what's your temp/humidity at? Some of the other look decent, and healthy though cap formation looks odd, and stipes are long. Found this link that explains some of the items with oysters.

Yes my humidity is a bit low, I think the tent wants a little humidifier to be optimal. But my temps are stable between 21 and 24C. Humidity is low here this time of year so I’ve been trying to mist it 4x a day or more.

I have a question... After seeing tempeh made traditionally, could one make tempeh with leftovers from mushroom cultivation????

Having never experienced the pleasure of growing shrooms or making tempeh myself, I have no idea about this lol.
