I knew him as Blackadder's moronic sidekick. I knew him as the prick Dr House.

I never knew he was a pretty talented musician. I enjoyed Hugh Laurie's take on this old standard.

While we're looking at out of character performances of old standards, here is a lovely version of Misty by the man best known for novelty songs like The Streak or The Ballad of the Blue Cyclone.

Ray Stevens was kind of a Weird Al of his generation, a very talented musician and performer who loved being a goofball and making people laugh.

Figured you might get a kick out of this, @Ramjet159 , one of your fellows reacting to a metal song based on a 200 year old poem about drama and death on the high seas. I'm sure you know the tune and probably the poem as well, but her reaction was a lot of fun, imo.

The Powerslave tour was my first really big rock show, and this song was amazing live.

It’s a great track and like anything Maiden worth your time . It’s nice to see our youth finding and listening to pretty well and arguably the creators of Metal appreciating how it all began and it’s simplicity compared to what exists today . Run to the hills is still one of my all time favourite tracks ??

Roy Clark showing why he is a legend.
It is incredible, the talent that appeared on the Muppet Show.

I had no appreciation for him when I was a kid, he was just one of the funny guys on Hee-Haw. Now, he is in the Pantheon along with guys like Rhoads and Jim Stafford and Van Halen.

Stafford, another brilliant and hilarious player:

I could not stop grinning the whole time I watched this. As a fan of the Muppets and of Croce, this was just so much fun.

I love Devo and the song interpretation is amazing.

The crazy part though, is that one of the members of Devo was an eyewitness to the Kent State massacre that this song refers to.

I got (too) busy for a bit there, even botched my last grow & delayed getting my room going - just life bein' life...
The grow finally came to a grinding halt - a week or two early - I killed them :stoned: . Probably only good for hash. BUT:
I'm a bit more freed up to get the room finished - covering the windows with two layers of 6mil panda film.
Just need to sort out the ventilation and I should have some Independence Day weed (and a journal) started!

Great cover! Really cool rendition.
Here's a fun cover of Heart Shaped Box:

I let it play in the background, rather than raptly listen, but very much liked the mood evoked. Nostalgia, as you said, and just a very relaxed, mellow groove.

This isn't the kind of music I would normally seek out, but I've enjoyed her tunes that you've shared.

And now for a shift in mood.

Heard this the other day for the first time in too long. Some of the phrasing is a bit awkward, but I guess that happens when you write lyrics in your second language. The message of empowerment and solidarity is still strong though.

C'mon man, let's stand up all over the world

Shit, I forgot that Udo did it before Miley :ROFLMAO:

I saw them live in Munich 2015 with Judas Priest and KISS! One hell of a show!
