I have a snare drum kit on the way from drumbuilder, it's edged but I'm gonna need tk measure and drill it myself. Pretty excited to slap that ol pig together. That double floor Tom setup of 14/16 is my favorite. I like my kit pretty much exactly like that. 1 rack Tom, 2 floors, and a few cymbals I can pull a wide variety of sound from, maybe a couple effect thingies.

I'm realizing just how cheap this kit is, haha, the two rack Tom's are only 4 lugs each lmao. Oh well makes it quicker for me!

I did each drum a different color, and have different colored remo heads on the way, this is gonna be such a gaudy beast! Paiste also has some colored cymbals but I've never heard them in person. Might go to the shop and check them out. I'd rather just buy all used though, much more in line with my skill level.

As a Bass Player, I can't help but be impressed by this:

This is my favorite Cannibal Corpse song:

I've sort of played this song once, but my arms .... MAN they hurt after that.

And another dude running through a song:

Again, as a Bassist, I find Alex Webster from Cannibal Corpse to be one of the absolute best. A lot of Metal bands, you can't even hear the Bass player sometimes through the guitars, but Alex stands out in a way that just .... Yeah, he's ridiculously talented, and stands out to me.

A lot of people think Bass player and they go to Flea from RHCP, or maybe Les Claypool, both of which are good players too, but Alex is on another level. That dude from Mudvayne is a sweet player too I have to say, and Cliff from OG Metallica of course!

Mudvayne dude has some technical ability that makes me look like shit, but WOW is he good.

But yeah, Alex Webster man.... LOL.

You know the song Run for the Hills, I saw the video for that WAY back when I was in.... Maybe High School, and the "Gallop" he does on the Bass in that song always grabbed me :)
He writes all their stuff, so there is always lots for the bass to do (if ya want good bass lines, ya gotta write 'em yourself ;) ). If you haven't, you should check out more of Harris' work. He is underrated, IMO.

I'm not a "huge" Iron Maiden fan, but I totally enjoy their work :) I actually have another video I should have posted about the subject though, as Bass players that stand out, aren't exactly the norm sadly:

Some of these have the same people on them, but I'm OK with that.
