My other cob light uses cree cxb 3070 cobs these luminus cobs were @$13.50 each were way cheaper than other citizen , vero 29 or cree 3950 or 3070 50v.cobs & by cheaper I mean considerable cheaper so I'm waiting until after this grow to voice my final opinion on the bargain basement cobs I have no way of testing par , lux or ppfd or any of that technical stuff I guess soon enough the plants will tell the story 20201016_081445.jpg 20201016_081556.jpg 20201016_081622.jpg

Great write up and info is great also.
Thanks for your dedication!
Im thinking of adding 2 of these cobs between my panels or 8 total to my area.
Hmm,,,
Citizen 36v. cobs are even cheaper yet at cobkits.com the xlg200h -ab have adjustments for voltage if you know what drivers you want octopart.com has the deals I'm not too sharp with the computer & you've gotta type the driver numbers just right but they've got the deals on these new style meanwell drivers I just got lucky on e-bay & e-bay might not have it one day & get 50 of them the next you just gotta keep checking daily I've found good deals there I'm considering adding some cobs in the middle of this light pending the results of this grow & have access to an identical vipar as the one used here I have a vision of 8 luminus cobs & 640w. of drivers

Found these cobs for $9.00 apiece but drivers start at $75.00 and up.
Ill keep lookin.
I was always intimidated by diy & after asking a few questions on another forum came away with more questions than answers but after this I've got a little better understanding & have a different out look aluminum street signs are now potential heatsinks for quantum boards lol also found it's cheaper to double up on smaller drivers than to buy some of the larger single drivers 3 of the 200h ab drivers will get you to 600w. for about $120 where a 600w. single driver will cost more one more bolt & I have heatsinks material lol 20201027_094652.jpg

@horribleherk You have inspired me. I have got a single board burple ready for a single cob. And took apart a burple 4 cob light and found 4 heat sinks and 4 fans.
Will start a new thread if I get it to work. Wonderful looking plants
Some of the blurple cobs is possible to use the chinese drivers as well if it either says the voltage or if you can put a volt meter on it if they're 36 v. you can go to cob kits & get citizen cobs & thermal pads , drill new holes in the heatsinks & you're rockin the guy that inspired me did his that way on mine I'm using a 54v. driver on 50v. Cobs I would like to see that kind of build happen I have a updated version of this light in the led light forum here
