Need help!

I think the new growth is coming around, but not sure. Ive been using Megacrop infrequently (I know, first mistake) in Potters Gold soil. Plants are in two gallon pots. What deficiencies are showing and what’s the best plan of action from here? I did start brewing a compost tea and they have had one two feedings of that. Should a compost tea be fed every feeding?....mixed with nutes?

Two Frisian Duck plants. Big one is about three and a half months old, little one is maybe a month old. What are the brown spots from on the little one???

This is Glueberry OG.

This is a close up of a Durban Poison leaf. This one is a quite hardy plant, but just started the purple edges.

These are just mother plants at the moment, so I’m not looking for vigorous growth, just want to maintain health.
It is feed time for them, so any help devising a good start point as a feed regimen would be greatly appreciated!!

Hey @Z71banshee , just saw this post. It looks like you’re having a snowball issue to me. First and foremost it looks like you’ve got a ph issue which in turn is most likely locking out necessary nutrients. Are you letting the plants dry out before watering? When you water are you ph’ing to an acceptable range 6.2-6.5 I’d start by letting them dry up quite a bit if they are wet/soggy. Then I’d flush the medium with a mild nutrient solution with a good amount of run off and then let them dry again and do this again. Just my 2. I’m sure someone else will chime in but I’ve had the exact same thing happen when I first started and it was due to too frequent watering and ph being off. Hope this helps?✌?

@Texagonian my next investment is going to be a good Ph tester. I have one, but it’s an Amazon cheapie. It does say I’m in the 6.5-6.8 range when I use it though. I’m kinda thinking I’m watering too frequently with not enough water. I water every day, but I would only give them a little so I am not overwatering and suffocating them. They are always bone dry the next day. Once I get the deficiencies corrected, is it a good practice to thoroughly water one day and let rest for a day or two?

Hey @Z71banshee i think tex is on the right track with snowballing issues. I am not a soil man but if this were my issue i would flush the plants with lots of plain phed water. With 2 gallon containers could take as much as 6 gallons of plain water followed by a light feeding. When you do irrigate or feed make sure you shoot for approximately a 20-30% runoff. The next irrigation is when the pot feels very light. The bigger plants will require more frequent irrigations. You are harming them by giving them just a small amount of water/feed. It causes unwanted build ups that will create lockouts that you are experiencing right now. The damaged growth will not repair itself look at the new growth for signs of being on the right track. There is a lot of info that was not provided that make this more difficult to figure out but the above would be a good starting point. When experimenting with the wet dry cycle i was always kind of surprised how dry the soil got before seeing any signs from the plant of needing water. Hope this helps.

When I watered last night, I did add a light feed and a little calmag, but I made sure I had a good bit of runoff. Hopefully this didn’t hurt too much?. I will let them dry up and then flush. Is rain water ok for a flush? I try to collect as much as I can for watering. Thanks for the info guys!!

@Z71banshee i think phed rain water would be fine but i am not certain of that. Nothing like rain water in the outdoor garden. Good stuff.

I'd agree with all of the above as well given the known info.
They look hungry, a good flush and feed routine should alleviate things as stated above as well.

As for the compost tea I'd not add much if any nutes to it all imho. There should already be a good amount from the compost alone.

How I water mine is a slow full saturation til i have just a bit of runoff to let me know shes well and fully watered. Then I dont do shit til the pot is feeling light again, but I also never let it fully dry out either. Keeps my soil alive. Lol.
Added info is I'm ROLS, mostly only water grow. I do add organic bottled nutes as needed, and or top dressings.

Great info and a big help in guidance! Just curious though, what’s ROLS? I’m not sure on all the acronyms just yet.....

Thank you for the link! I have been contemplating giving super soil a try.
I personally love it.
I love spending time with the plants, but I'd rather it not be mixing bottles all the time. Lol.
Keeps it simple too for when my buddy watches things for me if and when I'm out of town.
All he's gotta do is water em. Lol.
Thing is though if the soil mix is off there's really not alot to do for it.
It's in there. Lol
2nd Thing is you gotta keep it moist. Don't let it dry out or the microherd can die. (It'll come back, but takes time)
Even after you chop keep the pots soil moist, keeps the herd alive for the next plant.

I started all organic with earth juice nutes my first year. Kept recycling, adding, and amending it since then. Lol.
Have a current roughly 250 gallons of indoor ROLS I keep cycling through.
And about the same for the outdoor garden stuff.
Lately I've been doing some no till rols and see how I like that.
That's basically taking the previous plants pot after chop, and planting a new something with out disturbing the soil. Then a top dress amending done on the perimeter of the pot.
