Yeah or 6 hlg 550's lol

Like $4500 for hlg 550's. That's a pretty penny for sure.
It would not be a 10x10 packed full lol I just want some room to work, and add for when I want. Just needing a kick in what direction for dense buds. I can grow less if I can yield more and I smoke the fuck out of some bud. Nor am I planning selling just so I'm not forking out 120 a week. Couple weeks ago spent like 200 on bud and dabs.

That's a big room! A 10x10 room is 100 sq ft. That would be a recommended 3500 w of QB LED ... that's 35 of those SpiderFarmer 1000s! SFs watts at the wall are always 10% of whatever it says in the name. I'm not sure if you intend to use the whole room, but you'll need a lot of light in there, and with that much space I wouldn't worry too much about heat, decent circulation should keep you in a good place.

Personally, in your shoes, I'd go HID. It will cost a fortune to light 100 sq ft canopy with LED.
Yup, that's a big space. Lol.
I'm running about 1600 wall watts of cobs, qb's, and cmh together in a 4 x 8.5 space, and a 10 x 10 is 3 times my area. Lol
I hit about 45 per sq ft, but I keep em about 2 to 3 ft off canopy.
Plants love it most of the time, Lol, but not always.
That much light will for sure show me if my soil is lacking anything. Lmfao.
Which it sometimes does. ???
Makes for new problems to fix. Lol.

Looking at cmh pricing, any brands in particular? Or any to stay away from? Also 315 or the 630? I like the idea of more smaller lights.

I too think that more smaller lights give a better even coverage of light and limit hot spots in the canopy. Sun systems is the brand cmh I have, does great, and has a nice spread. I run Phillips bulbs. The bulbs used really make a difference imho.
The ones with a downward facing bulb are better at not having hot spots and more even coverage than the horizontal style.

Good shit man thanks for info. Do these use a dimmer? Or is it one setting through veg and flower?

That's a good setup but pretty pricey for CMH. If I was gonna buy a vertical mount I would probably go with the Eye Hortilux because it's $125 cheaper. But to be honest, the fact that I can buy 3 horizontal rigs for the same price kind of overrides the slight improvement from a vertical mount set up for me. I just got a cheap Digital Greenhouse hood and ballast and bought the Phillips bulb separately.

Also would you switch bulbs between veg and flower?
No, that's one of the great things about CMH, no need to switch bulbs, and they last longer than MH/HPS, though still not nearly as long as LED.

Also, a lot of them come with dimmers but its recommended you don't use them. When you dim them it actually affects the spectrum so it's less optimal for cannabis, according to smart people who measure spectrum and lux and such haha. It's a little beyond me but enough growers I respect have told me the same thing I've always gone with their advice

Full power, adjustment via height you hang it. Lol

You can, some do. I only use it in flower with the 3100k bulb.

I picked mine up used for $150 delivered to my jobsite with a good bulb from a mountain hippy. Lmfao.
I was looking at one of the eyes as well but the guy seemed a dick so I passed. Lol
So despite dimmer just run 100%? And I think this is the route I'm going to go. Ya I seen ones around 200 for ballast, then just buy the Phillip's bulbs.
Yep, i know folks run bare bulb too. No reflector.
Yup, always 100%

Anybody have any experiences with the yield lab fixtures? Will get a Philip's bulb but have a good price compared to a lot on this style of light. Also if I get one before this plants finished would it be advised to add it in? Or would that be to much change? 20200620_074217.jpg
