Next Generation Seed Company

Some of the best crop for outdoors and really rare preserves ( dynamite, grapefruit ,romulan, sweet island, texada ) and older strains def were super legit by next generation . I would love to start a discussion and also bring awareness of a breeder I always respected and like their gear. if you haven’t heard, check em out if you’re interested in those kind of strains. I know I would vouch for them anyday if interested in those strains and myself used their stuff for over 10 years Multi times. Loved that Texada timewarp, it’s moldproof, fast as fuck outdoors, pest resistant and donkey dicks/high yields . it was my go to commercial outdoor back in the day when everyone was doing blue dream

“Next Generation Seed Company was founded in 1997, in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We are proud to be celebrating 25 years of quality Canadian cannabis genetics. Through-out the years a lot of strains have come and gone, laws have come and gone, but the genetics keep getting better! We have a proven track record world wide for quality seeds.

next generation cup winners

Island Sweet Skunk wins 1st place BC Harvest cup 2002 and 2003.
In our first decade of cannabis breeding we were primarily focused on developing genetics from British Columbia, the Pacific North West, and Canada. In those years, we bred in the traditional manner and only produced regular seeds. Our seed strains became a trusted source in the British Columbia medicinal marijuana community. Several BC cannabis cups were won in the early 2000’s for our Island Sweet Skunk and Timewarp strains. Our Romulan became legendary for its extra potent buds and is still one of the strongest after all these years.
In 2009 Next Generation Seed Company was inducted into the High Times Magazine, “Breeders Hall of Fame”. Our genetics became known world-wide after several decades of happy customers. We have been featured in many international publications like: High Times magazine, Weedworld, Skunk magazine, Treating Yourself, Soft Secrets, Hanf, and many more. Including 3 cover photos on Skunk Magazine.

In the early 2000s High Times magazine made its first grow movies featuring Jorge Cervantes. The movies featured many of our grow-rooms, greenhouses, gardens, and genetics. During the early 2000s I was a very prolific breeder, grower and collector of hundreds of strains and many crosses between. Several of our outdoor creations became famous all across Canada for their hardy genetics and potent big flowers. We were regularly recognized in many top publications worldwide for our genetics.

In 2008 we moved our breeding operation to Europe and spent 9 years in Holland and Spain continuing to breed with our best Canadian genetics. During the time we spent in Europe we learned how to produce top quality feminized and auto-flower seeds. After moving to Spain we discontinued several outdoor strains because we were now growing in a different latitude. In 2017 we returned our main breeding facility back to Canada. Now that we are back, we have some of our old classic strains coming back too!
We’ve spent a lot of time traveling, collecting genetics, and testing our seeds in different climates. As a plant breeder its been a great opportunity to see how our strains performed at different latitudes and environments. Over the past 25 years we’ve heard a lot of feedback from growers all around the world with our genetics and many other cannabis varieties.. This experience makes us very qualified to recommend a strain that’s right for you and your growing environment.

BREEDING PHILOSOPHY:

When we’re selecting new hybrids, testing landrace strains, and creating new strains, every plant breeder has different priorities, techniques and needs. Our number one priority when breeding has always been flavor. We smoke what we breed, and its gotta taste great to make it into the breeding program.
When Next Generation Seed Company produces seeds we focus on the quality and shelf life of the seed over the number of seeds per plant. Many new inexperienced or greedy breeders will pollenate later to get more seeds per plant, but this often produces seeds with a shorter shelf life.

We pollenate our plants a little earlier than many breeders. We also grow them way way over the normal peak flower period(2-3 weeks over) until they are on the verge of death. The plants are fertilized until the very end of their lives to help ensure the seeds a long viability.

Hell yeah !

Be patient with their website! It works just fine, but there is always an extra moment waiting for the next screen.

I have grown out a few of their offerings

Never have I had funny business from this bank.
No herms, or runts, no DOA.

Blue, Grapefruit, and GF Diesel I hit with Blood Sour Tangie.
All grew true.

I did make F2's with the Black Romulan.
I have another cross just starting flower.
Black Romulan x @Phylex Charastar

Like BH, I enjoy their oldschool stuff.
They got a PurpPineberryx Romulan.
They also recently released a fem Romulan 2.0.

Lately, I have seen them venture out with some more current strains.
They got a Grapefruit Diesel Banner cross. I would hit that in a Canuk minute.

It’s been a little over a year now but I myself did not have a great experience/attempt with Next Gen. I really really wanted to and am not digging or attacking personally but it’s my only negative experience in recent times

Federations island sweet skunk is my all time favorite and I had packs in 08-09 I went through and had 2 cuts that were amazing and passed around with friends.

I’d been seeking that exact plant the past couple years and came across next gen. Long story short although the phone conversation with the breeder was nice prior to ordering, I was sent like 4 different strains stuffed inside corrugated plastic in an envelope - none of them being the “two 5 packs” of island sweet skunk I’d ordered/been seeking in the first place. Germ rate and final flower on the ogopogo he sent was the only one I enjoyed personally of the 4, but the whole experience really doesn’t sit well especially considering we spent like 10 minutes talking about how in love with ISS I was and he didn’t even send it. Not to mention it isn’t the early 2000s and sending beans with no packaging stuffed into an envelope is 20 years behind other banks/breeders

I am about to get a cut from someone on OG I’m praying matches the pinkish airy tasty ISS I’ve missed so much

If anyone has worked or f2d old federation stock I’d trade some gems in a heartbeat

sending beans with no packaging
Shipped within Canada ?

Often seeds arriving internationally will be in generic packaging.

These shipped within my home Province, in retail packaging.

Also, gotta ask,,
How was this this resolved ?

@ one time the website offered a specific freebie with any order.
Got my order. Did not get my freebie.
His response ?
" My tech guy put that on there a long time ago,,,Email me, next time you order. I will send you an extra pack "

I did not reply.

Like, don't acknowledge your indebtedness by asking for more money.
A stamp is $2. I would prefer to be on even terms before conducting business again.

The circuitious cognitive dissonance was enough to make my head explode.

I decided to leave it alone. Sometimes no reaction is better than a poor reaction.
I enjoyed the strains, but I haven't ordered since.
Not that I hold any animosity, this was simply a poor retail/management choice.
One of the dangers in doing something effectively is the eventuality of becoming promoted above your element.
At the end of the day I would rather have seeds from an accomplished breeder than an accomplished salesman.

I have a pair off crosses that I made with his Black Romulans, just starting to flower.
They look to be bangers, and I will just enjoy it for what it is.

I hear you on that shipping wise but it was a pain in the ass to get the seeds out of that corrugated plastic I damaged a few and mixed a few up. I would understand if I were trading someone freebie to freebie but the bros I do that with always use rubber coin collectors in a card or just send packages (a couple good peeps in Canada from OG) so again it just rubbed me the wrong way. I wouldn’t even mention this if the ISS had come, I’m just nitpicking now admittedly

It wasn’t resolved because I left it be. I’ve got plenty of stuff to work through and figured I’d wait for a different opportunity. It rubbed me the wrong way, sharing stories about my old cut and all these details to then not get sent the ISS, just made me think he wasn’t having a real conversation with me more just talking at me. I sent the rest of the next gen beans for free to someone on OG

I've had a similar experience with them. I talked to a guy over the phone and talked about how much I loved their Grapefruit Kush, I was told people don't really order that strain and he seemed like he was trying to steer me towards something different. I was also told if there's any problems with germination to let them know. Months passed and I decided to pop them and what do you know? Not one germinated! My seeds were also sent the same way as yours, with qtips holding the seeds in corrugated plastic. Primitive and behind the times. I did grow out their Dynamite and enjoyed it, that was the only saving grace.

So it was an odd experience ordering from them.
Got a voice-mail and a text from Taylor saying he wanted to talk. I'm not a big people person, and dislike phone calls.
Not a deal breaker but odd. I just texted him back and said thanks. Order came no problem. Bc Blue is from them. 20240220_153632.jpg
