Makes me think how many people were/are in the same boat as you...do your fellow growmies (or anony-gromwmies) a favor and leave em some breadcrumbs this way. Had we known who you were we woulda done the same ;)

:ummok: you're killin me man, I've only posted on one forum before this, found some random info here n there through web searches at others. at least drop us some hints lol

I remember seeing a few of my regular threads disappear and @Uncle Rom started a flame war with some individuals not to be named. It then got a little quieter on CP and l noticed the absence of a few of the guys I lean on when I’m fucking my plants up. I found out through @HydroRed on IG and here everyone was!

Anyhow, glad youfound the place @Caddis !!!

That sh!t wasn’t about me brother but I did say my piece for sure.
Let’s not talk about other site drama here tho my dooood. I’m pretty much cool with everybody at any given site and I like that.

Guys, this will probably sound weird, but yesterday was such a release of pressure/ energy, it’s like all those times you (me) type a post, but not get to express it!
Probably best in most cases, learned from spectating, no way to live!

Point, really glad I made the leap here!
No, I’m not crying

Had graduation ceremonies today, several ladies walked the plank!
After yesterday, today was like an after sex smoke, ya I looked.

I’ll put this here, not starting a thread if it’s not of interest.

My main system is a recirculater, but after hanging out with “the wrong crowd”, I’m neck deep in f&d and recently picked up some FloraFlex stuff.

Grabbed another bubbler head.

Just to be clear, not a huge fan of rockwool, but this might be interesting? I like the caps.
The small cubes are nice for seed start, because there self supporting, but rooters are the main.
So far, I took a bubbler and am testing 5”pots, hydroton dtw sorta.
I took a piece of air line to make a drip ring, drilled several holes. Use uc line, larger diameter vs. FloraFlex. <Nice airline, by the way.
Barb-t fitting on end of feed line (8) lines or plug off?
I really couldn’t find any info regarding cycle/timing for hydroton. It’s out there?
I tested every 4 hrs / 20 sec, too much runoff?
Trying every 2 hrs / 5 sec- no runoff
Wondering if I need to run longer, little ones are cool , but as I’m writing this, I just realized the cause of droop on bigs. The rings may not be spreading the water, going straight down?
Small plants were getting enough, demand is getting greater?

GIVE ME A DRINK!
We'll see.?
?

I would like to try floraflex, but I would ditch the rockwool (not a fan) and use it with a recirculating res on a table (or in a tote) with either hydroton or soil. Since my preference is also RDWC and F&D, I would mainly be interested in it as a low maintenance drip feed for mothers. Worth a thread IMO, get some more exposure and feedback.

That’s why I am testing in 5” pots/clay, the Floracaps is what drew me in.
Unfortunately, the Floracaps are to big for the 5” pots, I’m not buying their pots. The chase is endless.

What really turned me off to the rockwool was some bare round starter plugs.
I’ve been around fiberglass a lot, doesn’t bother me much. I’ve use real rockwool bats.
These frickin things, opened the bag of loose plugs. Instantly felt it, nope!
So I’m with you on that.
Given a choice, RDWC all day, everyday!

I like rdwc but man it's a lot of work for me. Growth is pretty dam stupid though.

I use jiffy pellets for starters I find they work extremely well.

Well, I’ve been through dirt, organic dirt, super dirt, Autopot Smartpot dirt/ organic bottle nute. (Seaweed does not work well in those lines)

RDWC is my favorite because there’s lots of pieces (can be) and I love to tinker with it.
Talk about read the plant, it’s almost instant feedback compared to dirt.
To be honest, never really got the hang of dirt.
It helps I have really good water, bought an RO filter, but it’s a waste of water for me.
The nutes I’m running have really helps stablize things. Hydroguard
Chiller, never ran without, so can’t see how well I would do, but I know others are successful.

Nice to have tap water pressure for filling and cleaning too.
If you can’t fill and drain pretty easy, it wouldn’t be near as much fun.
8# a gal x 30 no thanks!
If your fighting PH problems, root rot, lights, bugs and trying to learn, it would be tougher?
I don’t have bug problems, so it pretty straight forward for me.
And the results are insane, but how much can you store? :weedleaf:
I think some places it’s probably virtually impossible to be successful.

Another thing, I like to be barefoot. Water is better suited for that.

Yeah hydrogaurd is a great addition also hygrowzyme for enzymes since with the current culture of hydro most do not have adequate setups for beneficial bacteria. You don't need the bacteria if you can just add the enzymes. I find water temps of about 72-73f to be most productive. In terms of a chiller I feel if your under 75f you don't need so long as you have decent gas exchange to replenish o2 levels. The 68f I feel is BS in preventing pathogens like pythium. It will however slow down the metabolism and reproduction rates which gives you time to react. But if you have a healthy population of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens then it will never be an issue.

I have never had any bug issues in my hydro like you. Also decent water to start with 120ppm and after checking my water report nothing in it concerns me in the least.

I’ll have to admit, I haven’t done a ton of research regarding this.
That’s the problem with spectating, not being able to ask question when real knowledge shows up. Most information gets lost, buried in repetitious questions.
I’d love to talk more. Thanks

Well I'm far from real knowledge but do have a fair bit of experience and absolutely would like to share and compare ideas theories and methods. Can never learn enough

One of you guys wanna start up a RDWC thread? I'd love to join in the discussion. I have some observations and theories I'd like to test in the future.
I can but I don't have any complete grow pics as my last I had to rip out because I had to leave for a couple weeks. And no pics of previous grows left ?

Tomorrow sometime I can start a how too the way I do things... That should start a good debate and sharing thread as some of what I say can be controversial depending on the topic. Also can branch off a bit on other like why VPD is more important in hydro vs soil etc.
