What's up guys and gals? I joined here a couple of years ago, but never posted much. I'm a member of 5 or 6 forums, plus IG. My main forum is a private seedsharing one, so I usually spend my time there. But... I'm trying to really branch out a little more. Plus, I already know a couple of guys on here, so I'll try to be more active.

I've made so many crosses over the years, but I'll start with what I'm currently growing..

The following pics are of my own cross. (Black Lime Reserve x Grape Soda Skunk F2) x (Huckleberry Kush 2012 F2) F1.

This plant was recently harvested, and is revegging under 24 hour light currently. It grew like shit as a seedling and veg plant. It had some weird looking leaf mutations, but I think it just wanted more root space. It eventually came out of it, and became like the ugly duckling. It looked like something chewed on a fan leaf, but I don't think it did. I just kept with it, too dressed with my own earthworm castings, and eventually it came out of it.

I was gifted a pack of TRH's BLR x GSS in early 2020 by a grower and breeder in Oz (Australia). To my understanding TRH did a large open pollination of Mean Gene's Grape Soda Skunk in maybe (2019?), and he hit many selected females with pollen. One of which was a Black Lime Reserve female, I believe which came from stock, shared to TRH by the above Australian breeder. That's why TRH gave the pack to him. With the Grape Soda Skunk, there is potential for CBD dominant plants, which in a commercial setting isn't popular. So, the seeds were then passed on to me.

I started an open pollination project of the whole pack in late 2020/early 2021, and had 8 females to 3 males. My landlord at the time was in the process of selling the house we live in, along with some apartments, which I didn't know at the time. I was told that an insurance agent needed to inspect the place, so I had to break down my tents, and move my plants to a buddy's house. So I did all that, only to have them cancel because he had COVID. So another couple of weeks, and I had to do it again. They fucking cancelled again. So at this point I'm pissed, so I just took cuts, and killed the seed plants. Except the males. I put those in a tote, and warmed my van up while the new landlord inspected the house. I later flowered those out, and collected the pollen. Then I killed them.

The female cuts all rooted, and now I could start my open pollination. I ended up getting spider mites for the first time ever (probably from a bag of Pro Mix organic potting soil), but I was still able to get seeds. I didn't get to smoke any of that flower though. But that's how I got the F2. The things we do for this plant...

The male of my cross was a Huckleberry Kush 2012 F2. I actually used 2 of them. One taller and faster, one shorter and slower flowering. I didn't want to bottleneck the F3 too much. The potency is there. I've not smoked a single Huckleberry Kush female that I thought was weak. A few were almost too strong! I bought 4 packs of Dynasty's Huckleberry Kush around late 2014 from Sannies Shop, and have been growing the strain off and on since 2015. I F2ed the strain in 2018, and then popped about 20 seeds to make F3, while also setting out to make the hybrid with BLR x GSS. I had grown F2 from a sibling line at the time of my BLR x GSS grow, and was disappointed with the results (2/3 females had no terps - I didn't get to sample them either, because of mites), so this time around I grew a sister. Not much terps on these either, but the potency is there.

It was in early 2022 that I set out to create this hybrid.

Here's my White Cherry Truffle #5 x Family Vault Purple #7. Both strains are now discontinued from Aficionado. Both came to me as F2, gifted from friends. I first grew the WCT in 2018, and made separate selections with 2 different males. I preferred the #5 female best, due to the warming body high that she imparted. In retrospect, the #4 was more terpy, and maybe I should have kept her too. But hindsight is 2020. And effects are what I'm after. I later grew the Family Vault Purple, and selected a male to make F3 with. The breeder Hyp3rids used my F3 to create his No 2 cross. Those F3 are the most purple cannabis I've ever seen. Truth be told, I hated the smell on the purple female I used, but the male really helped to straighten that out. I had a green female too that smelled like candied cantaloupe, but I mixed the seeds up with another strain. I'm pretty sure that there are whole bags of one thing just mislabeled. So if I grow them out, I'm sure I'll sort it all out.

These are FVP F3, not his no 2.

I grew this plant outdoors this Summer (guerilla style) at 40 degrees north. She was stunted from being underneath another taller plant which turned out to be a male, so when I culled him, she really took off. Terps for days. It has the sharp, sweet pungent White Cherry Truffle smell, along with a floral slightly grape smell of the Family Vault Purple. I've still not smoked any yet. But I'm going to sample her tonight.

Some of the pics are sideways, and I'm too lazy to fix them. Sorry.

Nice! How did that Black Lime Special Reserve cross smell??? I grew out an F5 of that this season and it's delightful!!

Man those are beautiful by the way.
Thanks. When I grew out Midnight KO from Eclectic Elegance (Grape Limeade x BLR) those were all really limey. It reminds me of lime, but also has this effervescent quality to it. Hard to nail down. I have some BLR F4 from Smokey Pockets (which I believe is related to TRH's BLR F3 because the same guy gave those to both of them).

In the BLR x GSS F1, the lime is kind of understated. It's not really very dominant. I smelled some in it, but also grape soda, asphalt, and some burnt rubber. In the F2, I found that about 1/8 females leaned hard to either side (BLR or GSS). The BLR ones were tall, with long internodes. They had that BLR smell to them, but also more of a bitter lime peel smell. There was some grossness to them too. But good grossness.

I also crossed BLR x GSS with Huckleberry Kush the other way around. Huckleberry Kush was the female, and I used those 3 F1 males that I open pollinated with. In those, I had a hard lime leaner, with that same effervescent lime smell. I once had a Huckleberry Kush female that smelled like that, and she was waaayy too potent. I made F2 with her as well, and think maybe I should cross those with the BLR stock I have.

Lime with Burnt rubber would be nice! I'm actually quite the fan of strains capable of producing acrid smells myself. Some strains that are overly sweet I shy away from, but some are delicious so I try to stay open minded lol.

The Black Lime Special Reserve F5 I had this season was so nice! She's spicy with either Black Pepper or a spicy Chili thing that goes with the Lime really well in my opinion.

So far, the BLR/GSS x Huckleberry Kush I grew smells like sugar cookie burnt rubber, if that makes sense. There is the slightest hint of like a bakery sweet smell, mixed with burnt rubber. It had a grapey thing going on at first, but that went away at the end. The flowers have lots of curing to do, so we'll see how they turn out.

I know a guy who found males in BLR F4 that he said threw pollen that smelled like straight up lime. I've never experienced anything like that. Where'd you get your BLR stock from? That sounds like a unique terpene profile

Bro burnout Cookie terps sounds like a thing I'd be all over haha!

The pollen itself had that smell? That's actually pretty sweet.

The F5 I have actually came from here; one of the members did a run and brought it to an F5, and there was a contest to win some, and I didn't realize the contest was over because I'd never even heard of it before, so I looked up on Google what was used to breed it, saw the Purple Kush, Chemdog, and Afghan lineage and almost wet myself....

I replied and then saw the contest was over, lol. I was gifted I think 5 of them and I grew one out this last season and totally love it!

She's definitely got that spice I love so much and that terpene profile is just so nice lol.

Glad you decided to start posting here more @Ohwolfie. Your plants are gorgeous and you have great documentation skills! FVP F3 is wtf ?

Moving this to the Grow Journals section as it’s more appropriate there.
Thank you for the kind words, and thanks for moving my thread to a more appropriate section.

Yeah FVP is a really cool cultivar. The male I used to make F3 had a really Pakistani Chitral look to my eye. The seeds were released by Aficionado in around 2016, or so, and for the low price (by Aficionado standards) of $150. A grower on another forum named Barefoot did a share of them, and sent me some of the largest F2 seeds I've ever seen (produced outdoors in Cali).I still have a decent amount of those left actually. Maybe time for another repro??

FVP is said to be Spyrock Blueberry x Garberville PK. But to my understanding, the Garberville PK is a clone only, and these seeds are obviously regs. Mean Gene mentioned in an interview that FVP was actually from an old hippy in NorCal (who sadly passed away) named Crazy Larry. So what the lineage is for sure, I don't know. Aficionado aren't really known for their transparency.

I gave the BLR/GSS x Huckleberry Kush a little crack and a whiff last night, and the smell is still there. It's starting to get a little more prominent.

Yes, the guy said the pollen itself smelled. He's been growing and breeding for a while, and he said he'd never experienced that before. I thought it was pretty wild though.

Very interesting. I’ve been through Garberville many times I liked that little town. I hated Eureka but loved Arcata. The vibe there was just so much better than you-tweak-ah lol. One time I got a sandwich at a shop there at a place called Hole in the Wall (really good pastrami sandwich) and one of the girls working there was all wide eyed w dilated pupils telling me, “isn’t it a beautiful day outside? So sunny and bright ?” and I said yes it’s beautiful thinking to myself this girl’s tripping balls ? cuz I think she really was lol

Unfortunately, I've never been to California. I probably never will. Though it would be cool to see the California Redwood Forests, or drive up the coast and see the ocean. I do know NorCal has some beautiful scenery. Obviously, the cannabis is some of the best in the world. If I ever get a chance to visit, I definitely will.

Also, pastrami is underrated imo. Not everyone likes it, but it's my favorite deli meat. I don't buy it very often, but I really like it. Pastrami + mustard = heaven.

Yeah man deli mustard for the win, We got a deli here a Jewish deli in the city and they happen to have the best corned beef and pastrami. You come in you order. It's in the steamer. They take it out of the steamer and cut it right off and onto the sandwich. Now I am drooling lol.

Cali is beautiful. The Redwoods in Humboldt County are an absolute must see if you decide to visit. They’re so majestic and when you walk through the forest they command respect - you can feel it, almost as if they’re telling you, “I’ve been here for over 2500 years - you better recognize ?” Central Coast and Monterey Bay are also great. Very nice places to unwind. And of course, Yosemite. Absolutely stunning, the waterfalls are mesmerizing. There’s more snow pack and rain this year than over the past decade which should make for even bigger waterfalls and lush forestry. It would be a good time for some great photography.

I’ve been on a quest to find the best pastrami sandwich. There are probably several that are “the best” varying from coast to coast. It is my favorite deli meat as well.

Think we all see those ugly ducking plants pop up...Also had one very ugly plant.. Dosido 22...Thing is it's probably the most potent strain I have held back..Ran her three times before I decided to hit it with pollen...She's all but gone...Killed off the clones but have a lil grip of Dosido x Mendobreath seeds to find something better ?

The first male has showed himself out of my (Black Lime Reserve x Grape Soda Skunk) x Huckleberry Kush. I like the look of him. He's got a great structure. I'll probably flower him out upstairs away from the females, and collect pollen for later.

IMG_20221229_213106081.jpg

He's got the Huckleberry Kush F2 trait where the center finger is underneath the left and right upper fingers. A female sibling to the father of this cross also had that trait.
IMG_20221229_213115707.jpg

No purple veins under the leaves like some of his siblings have..
IMG_20221229_213123245.jpg

There's the balls. Can you see them?
IMG_20221229_213154064.jpg

The plant tag (so I can remember). #6 of 10.
IMG_20221229_213305239.jpg

The structure. Short, but the internodes are further apart than some of the other plants in this hybrid.
