I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve! All we did was order pizza, have some hot cocoa, and watch the ball drop with the kids. Once they were in bed, I smoked some of my Grand Dad's Blues #3 a little after midnight last night. Grand Dad's Blues is (Blueberry x Whitaker Blues) from @Josh Blue x Ken's GDP. The GDP was worked by another grow buddy before I got them, and the stock was from Ken's earlier release (maybe the 1st release.) This combination came together really well. Some of the phenotypes are green, and some purple, regardless of temps. Most have a great structure from the GDP male.

Here is the #3 female. I cloned it, and grew it again, but have since let her go. I have plenty of seeds, and all of them have been good. I'm sure I'll find something even better than I've already found when I pop a bunch more of them.

View attachment 149018 I had forgotten how strong it was. I was sick for the first couple of weeks on December with something, and didn't have the desire to be high. I smoked a couple of times before Christmas but my tolerance is pretty low. I pulled out my trusty Arizer Air II vape, packed a little flower, and took a few puffs. The effect took a minute to really kick in, but then it got me really high.

I had a little tinge of anxiety at first, because 3 puffs got me properly medicated, but it creeped up and got me. But I was fine. It definitely has that Blueberry euphoria, and thought provoking introspective quality, but also has this sort of drunken body feeling. That effect seems pretty standard in all of the plants I've grown of this line. Of all of the hybrids I've ever made, this one really came together perfectly. It's got the Blueberry phenos, and the GDP ones. And the structure and yield have been greatly improved.

At about 3am, the munchies kicked in. I ate the other half of my Dominos Philly Cheese Steak, and some Fruity Pebbles. Lol. Then I went to bed. That was my night in a nutshell.

LOL I barely made it to 12; I haven't been sleeping well and am usually up really early, and by 8 PM we called it a night on trimming, and I was tired. By 10:49 PM I was legit counting down how much longer I had to stay up as I wanted to sleep but had to wait LOL.

Philly Cheese Steak and Fruity Pebbles.... Shit I would murder that meal hahahaha :) Back in College I'd grab Pizza and generally ate massive bowls of those at any given time. To be Honest I sometimes prefer the "Malt-O-Meal" bags version, and not just because it lasted more than 2 days hahaha.

Glad you enjoyed yourself though. We smoke a bunch of weed and I kinda forgot what we ate....Nevermind, we had home made Sushi; Oldest step daughter has gotten into Japanese culture, and my Mom got her two Sushi making kits for Christmas and a 25 pound bag of Rice to experiment with. It was lovely :)

I spent the last 3 days smoking mostly Sin City Juice, Fiona's Chem Cake, Susie Cream Cheese, and Chem D. How much do I love those? Well, I have my first two female plants of a mystery Blue Cheese cross I nick named "Psychobilly Cheese" and legit have not even tested it yet.... Like not a single joint smoked of it.... Believe me that's pretty nuts for me hahaha.

The Wife smelled one of them and said it smelled like Cheese and Grapefruit which, I have to admit; There is a REALLY odd sweet fruity aroma in there with that straight up funk the other added in. No idea how it tastes yet though LOL.

I've not slept well lately either. My sleep schedule has been all messed up since before Christmas. I would have liked to have been in bed before midnight, but I got sidetracked with gardening stuff. Plus, the wife and kids demanded that I watch the ball drop on TV with them. I had to water plants (it was aerated worm tea day), transplant females, kill a few herm Mean Mugs (grrr), and put their remains into my JLF bucket. That bucket stinks btw!! As soon as Spring comes, outside it goes. I didn't get back upstairs until about 11 pm. Then I started shucking some seeds and storing them. No rest for the wicked, I guess.

The "Fruity Pebbles" was the Malt o Meal version. For lack of the proper name of the product, I said Fruity Pebbles. We have the giant $9 bag. Not sure how many pounds that thing is. With 4 kiddos, we have to buy things in bulk. They are hungry little monsters.

I'm not big into sushi, but I'd like to try some Japanese cuisine. I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to trying new foods. That's cool that your stepdaughter is into Japanese culture. My 9 year old son loves Samurai stuff. He made me buy him a PS4 game called Ghost of Tsushima for his birthday a few years ago. It's all about a Japanese Samurai who terrorizes and fights Mongol invaders in the 1200's (I think). Anyway, he loves Japan. Strangely, so did I as a child. Must be some sort of genetic memory thing.

I once grew out some Helmand Afghan plants, and one smelled like grapefruit in flower, and then the smell turned into a Cheetos and body odor funk once it cured. The plant itself grew like an NLD plant, and had what at the time I thought was an N deficiency, but thinking back on it, it was probably some variegation. I was a noob back then, and didn't realize it. I crossed that plant with a stinky Bog Bubble male that smelled like skunked beer. It out Affied my Affies. I still haven't grown any of those yet, and I made those quite a while ago.

Cheetos and BO and my first thought is wanting it lol. Cheese is very special to me so I'm always interested in that. If you ever grow them out I apologize for the bugging you I'll be doing about the smell lol.

Glad you made it to see the ball! I know I was fighting sleep over an hour before that lol.

Note to self: And the rest of you..

This phenotype of Kitchen Sink Kush is strong!!

It's the kushy one. This went about 10 weeks, but looked done at like 8. I have no doubts that the Oregon Affie used in Huckleberry Kush is related to Bubba (as Professor P has said). This plant looks like Bubba, and taking it 10 weeks made it potent AF just like Bubba. My buddy came over to have me change a string on his daughters little nylon guitar, and I was so high it took me a while. In fairness, I'd never changed a nylon string before. I was way too high to change them all, and my hands weren't working correctly either. I'm laying here essentially couch locked now. Lol.

Btw, Kitchen Sink is:
(Huckleberry Kush F2 x BLR/Grape Soda Skunk F1) x (White Cherry Truffle x Family Vault Purple).

Quite a polyhybrid, but one where I'm happy to say that I grew and crossed both parents myself. It incorporates a lot of the genetics that I've ran over the last 7 years. I F2ed the Huck Kush, crossed that with the 3 BLR/GSS F1 (open pollinated) males, grew the WCT, then FVP, selected a WCT female, and selected a FVP male. I only had 11 seeds of this total. The Huck Kush x BLR/GSS was one of 4 females that I threw in my flowering tent 12/12 from seed with the WCT x FVP F1 I was F2ing. I had no intention of growing these seeds, but the smoke on that mom (Huck x BLRGSS) was really good. I figured what the hell?

Now before I pat myself on the back too much, 4 of 6 of these KSK plants went herm. They went herm early too. This one, and another that I call the 31 flavors pheno were the only stable ones. No nanners. Not one. This thing barely had any smell in flower. Smelled kind of spicy, earthy kushy, but it was subtle. It's starting to pick up something else now that it's curing. There were 5 males as well. 1 was absolutely gorgeous, but went herm. Another got chewed down by rabbits I'm presuming. I did clone it, and still have the clone, but it's too late. Maybe I'll flower it, and save the pollen for later.

I made a bunch of F2 seed that will be all over the place. One male was a tall White Cherry Truffle one, another was a purple grapey one with fat male flowers (FVP probably), and another purple stem one that was a BLR x GSS blend. This was a really kush dominant mom.

This post took me like an hour to make.

(BLR x GSS) x Huckleberry Kush #8. It's a other male. Not nearly as photogenic as his brother. This plant looks like Grape Soda Skunk, in terms of it's structure. I don't like it. I just watered it before the pic, so it's a bit droopy.

I probably shouldn't have topped it. Because it's growing like a little jumbled bush. There's also this crook in the main stem where the plant has a bend. Maybe from where it was in the corner of the tent, I don't know. But I don't like it.

IMG_20230103_233336942.jpg

I remember Mean Gene saying a few things that are kicking in around in my head with regard to how I'm going to approach moving forward with this line..

#1 Grape Soda Skunk is very dominant. The fact that the female used in this cross was a hybrid, not even pure GSS, says that those genetics are very strong. At least when crossed to Huckleberry Kush, which tends to really stand out in every breeding I've done with it.

#2 Grape Soda Skunk is related to his Cherry West. It's got some of the same stuff in there, and they both have some really small plants in the line. I've seen this myself. I chose that characteristic as an identifier (along with the grapey aroma) when selecting an F2 female.

#3 He said that my plants from this cross look a lot like Grape Soda Skunk. He also said there are a lot of weirdos and mutants. I don't want the weirdos. I want to put the GSS terps on a Huckleberry Kush frame, so I need to at least select males with that structure. In the F2, I can get more heavy handed with selections. Here, I need just a general outline to follow.

So with all this in mind, I'm going to select away from the Grape Soda Skunk structure in regard to males. So this male will probably get the chop.

I'm definitely going to keep his brother though. He looks like a Huckleberry Kush male.

IMG_20230103_211404922.jpg

Still not a tall plant by any means, but not a jumbled mess of branches and leaves like the other one..
IMG_20230103_211447573.jpg

Huckleberry Kush leaves.
IMG_20230103_211429533.jpg

The plant on the far right is one of the males I grew outdoors of this crossing over the Summer. Looks to my eyes to either be more BLR dominant, or possibly Oregon Huckleberry (from the Huck Kush) dominant. The middle male is Kitchen Sink Kush. The far left is a runty BLR/GSS x Huck Kush.

IMG_20220925_172015582.jpg

So my thoughts are to use pollen from the kushy male, and the above male on the right to make F2. Possibly another male, if a worthy one presents itself.

If the GSS is as domiant as it's been, I'm sure those type of plants will pop up in the F2 anyway..

This is my buddy's dog Ruby. I was doing some work for him today, and as I was leaving, I saw her get hit by a truck. I didn't see how it all developed, only turned around and saw the truck hitting her, and her struggling for a moment, until she died. I was having a great week up until this point, feeling good about my life. Now I'm fucking gutted. I'm sick to my stomach..

This is a pic I took her just before Thanksgiving.

When life gives you herms, pop more seeds. I've been wanting a pack of these since I heard Professor P mention he was working on them a couple of years ago. Rather than sit on them till God knows when, might as well pop em all.

IMG_20230112_204214766.jpg

Blue Magoo BX3. I am going to open pollinate this whole pack, as well as start incorporating these genetics into my own lines.

IMG_20230113_161842690.jpg

Those seeds are currently swimming as I type this post.

I decided to pop even more seeds. Sorry I don't have pics to post, but I will. In addition to the Blue Magoo BX3, I also popped some Tartar Kush F3 v1 (more info below), Tartar Kush F3 v1 x FVP, Huckleberry Kush F3, and a single Chemo seed came up out of 3 planted. My buddy sent me the Chemo seeds. He sent me well over 100, but some looked like they were cracked. Almost like the shell got too dry, and split open. So in terms of viable seeds, I don't know what's there. I just wanted to pop a few, and have a look.

I made the Tartar Kush F3 x Family Vault Purple back in 2019, when I had a really awesome FVP male that I used to make FVP F3 with. The FVP seeds I had were F2, though very consistent. The only difference was some were green, and some purple. Otherwise, very similar. I think FVP was a heavily worked line.

The Tartar Kush F3 was made back in 2017, and was made with my keeper "dark mother" F2 mom, and a floppy OG looking Tartar Kush male with a berry smelling stem rub. The female had this skunky sort of berry smell, and was the only plant out of the handful that I grew that I liked. The others had a gross sewage kind of stem rub that I disliked.

My main objective is to open pollinate the Blue Magoo BX3 for preservation. But I might dust a few other plants with Blue Magoo pollen too.

Here's the BLR/GSS x Huckleberry Kush keeper male. He's dropping a ton of pollen right now, and isn't slowing down. I've already collected about 1.5ml into a plastic vial, and stored it in my fridge with desiccants. He's nowhere close to stopping dropping pollen.

This line has some weirdo traits and a less than ideal structure from the Grape Soda Skunk side, and I selected a female that really favored it when making these seeds, so it's no surprise that those traits presented themselves.

This male will hopefully pass on his structure and vigor, which will really help with further selecting in the next generation (F2).

Here are the (7) BLR/GSS x Huckleberry Kush females @16 days of 12/12. They are just now starting to show some more pistils. The temps are at about 66 degrees with lights on, and they are showing a magnesium deficiency. Some moreso than others. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do about it. I've got heating mats under the plants, but it's not really helping much.

It's part of basement growing in the Winter, I guess. Someday I'll have a temperature controlled room. For now, I'm at the mercy of whatever temperature the basement is.

The Blue Magoo BX3 are coming along just fine, and so is everything else in the veg tent. It's just a pretty slow going process. Patience is a virtue...

As promised, here's a shot of my veg tent. BTW, it's an AC Infinity 3x3. It's really nice. I've got a 4x2 Gorilla Shorty, and the quality is on par with that. Minus all the zip on BS that comes with a Gorilla tent. It never fails to piss me off when I try to set that thing up. Lol. That's why it's not set up right now. I'd rather use a 5 year old Secret Jardin tent with a broken zipper than struggle with putting the shell of a Gorilla Tent together. Lol.

Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, pictures..

IMG_20230202_212737701.jpg

The big plants are Tartar Kush S1, accidentally made by my brother about 6 years ago. I gave him cuts, and he managed to really stress them out. They were grown outdoors, and were root bound in regular field dirt. I think maybe he got some Miracle Grow that he re-potted them into, but it was well into flowering. I tried to tell him not to do that. I tried to tell him what to do, but he didn't listen. Anyway, he gave me 8 seeds that he found.. He said they were Huckleberry Kush, but they aren't. He mixed the tags up.

This is the one that I really like the looks of. As soon as I can take cuts, I'm going to.
IMG_20230202_213251900.jpg

She's beautiful!!
IMG_20230202_213256770.jpg

They've got a bit of a MG deficiency. Gonna have to spray with Epsom Salts
IMG_20230202_213355487.jpg

IMG_20230202_213413987.jpg
The other females look kind of meh to me. But if I had a dollar for everytime I thought that a plant looked like a winner in veg, and wasn't. I'd have a lot of dollars.

From the second row back in the middle of the frame is Blue Magoo BX3. I've got a total of 11 of those. The rest are all things I've made except a single Chemo seedling. The Tartar Kush F3 x Family Vault Purple, and Huckleberry Kush F3 are my crosses.
