i love a good bass line..

And some bass players were...probably better than the drummers in the band. :D someone has to keep the beat...

I had a ruby red peavy dynabass...man was it nice :D a 1/3 century ago

Not gonna lie, I once called a drummer a glorified metronome LOL. I didn't actually feel like that, it was mostly just to be a fucker, cause there's plenty of drummers I've seen that are incredible musicians. The band Mortician actually had to start using a Drum Machine because when their drummer died they couldn't find anyone who could play it.

I do have a Bass again (I had one that was stolen from me, another that I ended up pawning and never got back) but the Wife found one online and got it for me a few years ago.

It's kinda funny because the girls hear the song "Twist of Cain" by Danzig, and they have made up their own words to it about mashed potatoes LOL, and one day I hooked up the amp and played it and the mashed potatoes words just flowed haha.

Good Bass players in Metal aren't always common because it seems like they just turn them down, and have them play with the uitar parts, but then Cannibal Corpse..... Alex Webster doesn't seem to end up on the lists like Flea does or Les Claypool, but man..... The ONE time I managed to play through a chunk of Hammer Smashed Face.... Bro talk about sore arms haha. Dude's crazy good and does it in a way that he makes it seem so easy! I do like Primus and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but for playing style it's hard to beat Mudvayne.... Watching Mudvayne's Bass player, I stare at him like I'm watching a master of technique and he has one hell of a style !

I can still play a decent amount of the songs I learned back in the day like The Misfits, Dead Kennedys, and System of a Down (Sugar is actually really easy to play) but I HAVE to mention Cliff Burton... Metallica may be capable of offering a million dollars to a Bass player, but they simply are not gonna have that dude that sat down one day and recorded on Kill 'em All. Anesthesia was ridiculous ! He uses nail scrapes AND effects in that one song and I respect the amount of technique to say the least.

Sorry I'm rambling about music.
