Hope this is the right place. So I ordered 2-10 packs of regular seeds. f2bx1. I have one 2x4 tent with a mars sp3000, another with a sp250. Ive hunted using feminized seeds with 5 seed packs etc. but not 20 regulars. My question is..should I pop 10, eventually getting them into 1-2 gallon containers for the finish and hope to only have 5-6 females in the one tent with the sp3000 or pop 20 and do the same in the tent with the sp250? Then take the top one of each tents clone and put them head to head under the sp3000 for the final grow. Or would you take the top two from each tent then go head to head in the sp3000?

Won’t matter too much . U will be fine either way . I start em in solos and finish in the one gal . Best of luck!

I take it you only go 3-4 weeks before the flip from seed using 1 gallon pots?

I think it really depends on what your looking for. Obviously, the more you pop, the more likely you are to find a specific pheno. It will also give you a better understanding of the frequency at which phenos appear if you run a larger sample size. Personally I'd run all 20 if you don't already have other plans for the second tent. Maximizes the chances you'll find what you what your looking for. Are these the Schwaggy Skunk #1s by the way?

Yes they are, and both tents are empty, anxiously awaiting ?. I’m gonna pop them all. I know @Schwaggy P mentioned a taller pheno he wished he kept a clone for. Im gonna be a sniffing fool for the next couple months. ? I don’t have that many pots so I’m debating on 1-2 gallon to buy. I’ll use them in the future either way…got plenty of HF soil too.

My concern is that the sp 250 might hide the best girl while an inferior girl seems better under the sp3000. Or am I overthinking it?

I think if they're in 1 or 2 gallon pots it should be fine. I have 14 girls in a 3x3 right now in half gallon containers and it's working great as a phenohunt.

That tent was then gonna be for 2 mothers after clones then the other 250 tent for veg and the 3000 tent for flowering, that's how Ive always done it. Looks like Im gonna be pulling out my 2-80 watt full spectrums from storage and buying another damn tent! When does it end?

It doesn’t end! Lol. I bought a 4x4 tent just for flowering and all vegging is done in another room. Well, I don’t have enough room in the 4x4 so I’m seriously contemplating buying a 2x4 as another flower tent! Just when you think you have your setup sufficient, something comes along and says otherwise!

to force ur plants to get all ur light more move ur pots on a rotational move of 90-180 degrees everyday and use bamboo vs trelllis

In a tent it does have a few pro’s. reflection and walls of that are super close . now to limit their size but also make sure u can fit 10 np use 1/2-2 gal pots , if the run isn’t a straight to flower I would do 2-3 stage up pot . Meaning go from party cup size to 1 hal to final . Up pot em to next stage when u see roots on bottom
And intill I get to final pot make sure to let pot dry up tillAlmost too to “too dry” so ur roots search and expand ( one of bugged tnistakes is not letting ur roots search ) I would suggest pure coco vs anything with perlite and than add rice hulls instead of perlite ( like 5-10 % of ur medium) than add worm castings as a good organic Bennie , npk and water retainer .

feed in veg 100-450ppm ( follow feed same as ur light by strength , meaning ppfd 100-450 ppfd aka light strength )

ur hardest battle in a small tent and winter is heat for a led . Instead of investing all ur electric to heating ( and it’s more costly than a/c and lights a lot of the time )

To achieve such have ur grow room as warm as u can get it. Buy a thermometer ( hand gun temp probe with a laser) so u can test the canopy temps aka leaf temp . Some of the most common issues people I’ll have is depend on their grow room controller /monitor to tell them their temps where if u have a temp/rh with probe on the wall or a monitor In The air . If that’s all ur doing That’s not the leaf temp!

leaf temps should be around 78-84, if u can always follow vpd . People like to play god and make their own environment but ur not a plant so they do have their own pref .if you don’t know what vpd is. Read and you’ll have one big key to success and understanding why vpd is so important . Also a good environment monitor(pulse ) can save ur grow . I know it’s saved my ass every round in many ways .

if u can achieve above 78f by the time lights turn off u will need min heating even in basement ( goal is 10 degree lower than lights on = 68-74f)

if u need heat after during lights off get a oil heater instead of a electric . The electric version will kill ya on cash

Thank you for the info. Ive got the growing part down. It's the size of the pot and when to flip to make sure Im getting a good read on the pheno and that it'll all fit properly. I usually end up in 2-7 gallon pots with HF, wiggle worm castings, ancient forrest humus and Myco's. I use Megacrop and Massive bloom for Nutes along with epsom and molasses toward the end. I get nice massive frosty colas. Im also an environment nut..I watch closely. Thanks again.

I just put 5 regs of AG’s Super Lemon Haze x Jack Herer into flower thinking I’d probably end up with 2 or 3 females and would of course have space for more beans I popped… turns out I went 5/5 females and it’s going to set my schedule back now. So never count on getting 50% jes sayin!

Well...well....well. Guess that solidifies that I'm using 2 tents for 1 pack. Cant wait to get this hunt on. Thank you for giving us some hope that we can enjoy some good ole skunk again. I know you are still working the line to find that RKS type bud and I'm sure you will eventually nail it. But for now...I hope this holds us over till then. Thank you!

Thanks for the confidence Never count your chickens till they hatch! Im gonna just pop 13 for two tents. Ive got enough smoke to last me quite awhile on this hunt so Im just gonna have fun and enjoy it. Good luck with your grow!

Another question...Normally I use HF with Megacrop as a nutrient then worm castings, forest humus, mycos and a few other amendments to build soil. This really seems to help my crops but Im thinking to hunt for a pheno I probably dont need much more than my HF and Megacrop. That other stuff I'd think would be best saved for the final grow of my favorite phenos clones. Am I thinking right? Does phenohunting use the ole K.I.S.S. method?
