All made in USA I hope? Back about 8 years ago I lost a good boy - GSD mix all black goofball beast of a dog, we suspect it was from Chinese dog treats. Shortly after eating them, he developed a heart condition. It was almost beating out of his chest. I think he got a stroke then went to lay by the other dogs (who were separated, they weren't buddies) but they surprisingly got along those last days. Like they knew he was in trouble  Nothing could save him at that point. I check everything now.

Well, my life was turned upside down on Sunday. My best friend in the world was laid to rest after 11 years of living the best life. He was by my side almost every day....at work, at the store, on vacations and all my friends houses! While I’m beyond heartbroken, I just think of all the good this guy brought to the world.
my favorite story to tell everyone; I had some friends come stay with me to go skiing. Didn’t know that one of my good friends was terrified of dogs. Bailey was happy to see them all, but I did notice that he was gentle and “courteous” to Mike. Almost as if he knew. Within an hour, Mike is sitting on the floor sharing his Doritos with Bailey! Now, Mike has his own dog and loves him as I loved Bailey!
sorry for the sob story, but I just want to tell you all hug your four legged friends and tell them you love them for me. The hardest part of having a pet, is letting them go.
RIP Bailey.

My heart feels for you brother. Mine is 14. And although still spunky I know just one day outta the blue he's gonna slow down, then fade away. The best dog I've ever owned or known.
It's something I dread as he ages every day at almost 10x the rate of us humans.

Thank you for sharing, I can see myself doing the same someday soon with mine.

RIP Bailey

Feel for ya both. ???
I had to put my 13 yr old Shiloh dog down last yr. Her quality of life had gone downhill quite suddenly, and it was best for her. Though so sad for us.

Like yours she was the best dog ever. I'm crying as I type this I miss that dog so much.
Really know how much they mean to us.
I still have her 10 yr old daughter Moon.

Moon is still going everywhere with me, to work, the stores, friends, lakes, rivers, etc. But she's slowed down a good bit with age. Doesn't keep up with the 1 yr old Pitty I've added to the family. Lol.
I hug them all multiple times daily. ???

I am making the fattest pug in the universe.

Actually she likes to eat and im stoned all the time. so let the dog eat.

She loves me. 2 people said if it were a person you would need a restraining order. Got to love a rescue dog that turns out AOK.

She does take up more bed than me or the wife but she sleeps at just the right level to warm up my knee that aches in the middle of the night.

Her neck is so big when she lies down you cant see her feet.

lol.

Yes you should not do this...but if you are going to live until you die..well happy is a good way to go out.

and after thinking about it...geeze i love her. My son lost his mom after a year long battle with cancer. My mom in law gets this rescue dog and we go visit and my son cried and cried about the dog...fine we will get it.

I think I would have been broken if she had not rescued ME. And my wife loves her almost as much as me. :D

All the stuff you go through in life prepares you for the next stage of your life. Crazy or what. she was part of this journey. Now I have a wife who was a widow and i am widower and 2 people could never be more chill and loving. Because we understand time better than most.

Have a great Thursday. Time to hit the pool and rip some volcano bags.

Lost one of the sweetest dogs i have ever owned today she was only around 8 or 9 years old. I rescued her about a year ago from a pretty fucked up life. She finally made it to a good home and would not let me out of her sight to show her gratitude. To have this happen to her has devastated me she just deserved better out of life. While i do find comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering it still hurts a LOT! She had a short but horrendous battle with cancer. I will miss her for a long time to come. Condolences brother. At the very least she had a wonderful home and an awesome dad to be with her at the end when so many do not. Small comforts.

I’m so sorry, @Capt. C
This stings just reading as this is what I went through just a month ago with my blue pit. Cancer sucks and it hurts even worse when it’s our furry friends. I’m sure my dog Bailey will meet up with Faith by the rainbow bridge and give her lots of love. Just don’t ever forget that you saved her from a shitty life and showed her love.....that makes you a damn good dude!!!
