Peat moss shortage

So I've been gettin this from a couple grow shops around the area
They've been having trouble grtting pezt based products due to a overly wet 21/22 winter and a lack of harvest yields being met.
I guess I'm glad I just bought a bunch of the Sunshine 4 because that's one they're sayin is getting hard to source.
I don't use a large amount of it, but, I get mine at the local feed store and I recently purchased a compressed bale, and they had plenty. perhaps the soil mixers are being held up. I usually get my lime, perlite, vermiculite, alfalfa meal and a few others I don't remember offhand. Usually cost me the same for a huge sack as it would for 5 LB bags online.
I make my own mixes so I use up lager quantities {always wanted to spell that with 3 T's} with ease. I guess I'll make sure I'm fully stocked, good growin'...
Now that I think of it, the price of 5KG coco blocks nearly doubled in the last year, and I noticed that any sold at fair prices, didn't last long.

I thought it was due to the blockade the truckers had going on for a while. Seemed like right after that got broken up I started seeing it round here again but only at the big stores. My local lowes had a random pallet of sunshine 4 bales which I thought was odd because they've never stocked it, but I jumped on the opportunity & bought ten ? price was pretty good too somewhere around $28 each.

Tbh I've never missed peat in my soils since cutting it out. Coco coir has better moisture permeability, stable ph, and is sustainable.
Same here. I decided to try it again {after 3 years}, that said, I'll mix 1-2 gallons into each recharge until it's gone. Since going full organic, the only time I won't recharge a spent mix, would be over disease or insect probs. My plants don't care for very much peat in the mix.
