Pepperpicante judges a cannabis cup flower entries. ICHC

I had some family over doing some smells and partaking i've writen some comments down as they came up. Quotes from hermano picante
Sample 2501 smells like that lavendar gelato we like very good.
2503 nothing that sticks out but it looks nice dense bud
2506 woodsie smell almost like a peppery smell. Makes me feel like it was like a sativa
2517 smells like oustide grass
2516 a little piney too me
2509 smells citrusy
2514 smells grassy but better than 2517
Real lemony to me 2511
2505 smells garlicky like it will be strong
Smells like a peppermint 2508
Wow smells you just pinsouled the floor better than the other one (2011) that was lemony 2504
2510 smells like a gelato smell.
2507 smells like some kind of food.
2513 super strong cleaning product smell not in a good way
2515 strong almost food smell
2502 you can barely smell it
2501 was the one that stood out the most to brother picante

The top 3 ones that really stood out to me, in no particular order, where 2510, 2501, and 2504,
2510 had it all with the flashy purple bag appeal, with nice aroma and terps! Very enjoyable. More on the sativa side for me.
2501 had at all too! Triched out flecks of color with a smooth and enjoyable toke very hybrid smoke that anyone would enjoy.
2504 was all terps. Loud and unfogettable taste that I am still thinking about.

2510 People would talk about with the colors and terps
2501 people would ask for since it checks all the boxes
2504 headstash fot terp chasers.

2505 and 2516 felt like they would be better as extracts. Their flavors was something I felt like would pop better in a vape.

2503 could have been one of the ones in my top 3 but the nanner in the bud wasn't something as a judge I felt like Incould dismiss.
The one that was good just didnt vibe with me terp wise was 2506.

The ones that I didnt enjoy don't need to be went over1000023194.jpg1000023195.jpg

I had a great time finding out the results of the ICHC at the Farmers market. Stepping out of the Elevator into a smokey room filled with smells of a candy gas factory! The vibe was amazing. The Dj had the music right and there was good food to be had catered by EZ Bachi. Shout out to the sessions crew and vendors and everyone who helped set up the farmers market event. After I checked out who placed at the ICHC awards table I met up with the legendary growmie and content creator - Macho Grams - Booth after booth of flower and hash was available for free smells. Some free swag like stickers were passed around as were dabs and joints. This was craft Canna and canna culture. I was able to see some slips of the canada growmie jusst grows purp trop cherry punch passed out to the growmies gathered. I appreciate Macho showing me around.

Some notable booths

glass art booths

The Artists (insta kubuglassart) and woodys glass gallary closer to the start of the event said he hadn't moved much glass yet but events like these are about connecting with the community and exchanging socials like insta. All the glass art looked amazing.

BhangDog (same insta handle) was one of the local breeders with a booth. He had some excellent smelling wares. I was attracted to his moonthemed genetics and this was one of the few booths with beans alongside flower and hash. The standout smell was the Chocolate Diamonds. One wiff and you knew one wiff wasn't enough amd after 2 wiffs a 3rd was also needed and so on. I would describe the smell as what I imagine Gods armpit to smell like. pleasent yet funky in the best way. The gentleman behind the booth offered to sprinkle some hash in my joint and that was the begining of the end for me. 1000024276.jpg

I really loved all the art booths and vendors. One that stuck out to me was cgart60178 (insta handle) affordable art was her motto and I commissioned a piece that I'll make a post for later. I thinm she also is involved in puff and paint events. 1000024275.jpg

We can't leave out the flower booths! I have to mention some standouts.
I stopped by the truehydro booth to say hi and see some of the cuts and flower they had on display. They have some of the terpiest gear and with hydro. A master of his craft.
I also stopped by one of the booths that submitted an entry for the competition. S.O.B. had everything that most people look for in these flowers. triched out terpy bag appeal goodies and amazing hash. Their sample number for the competition was 2501. This was one of the standouts for me as well as brother picante. The strain was super buff cherries a cut sourced from Michigan. The grower was down too earth and has his set up dialed in. His extracts looked super heady and Macho tells me they were tastey. 1000024097.jpg

At this point I was very zooted and had some of the social anxiousness that some people get in large gatherings after enjoying some consumption.

I ended my part in the event early with a final Joint that looked like a tiny ice cream cone pearled by Macho himself.

Events like this are what the canna community is about. I hope you all get a chance to go to a local canna event. Just being in those vibes and showing support to the community goes a long way to bringing the community up. After all not to many years ago events like this would have been impossible.

They are banned in my area of Illinois so I've never been to one. We just got our first dispensaries last year
