Past POTM contests have been judged by number of likes only, regardless of type of like (e.g. FrostyAF, Fire, etc) which each have different point values. Although it is easier to tally up with the current method, would it be more "accurate" or "fair" if we judged on the total point score?

Although there could be a scenario where someone can get 19 Likes @ 1pt each for 19 pts, then another person gets 2 Fires @ 10pts each for 20 pts and wins lol.

Only problem I see with proposed method is I don't think a lot of people are aware of the difference in points. For example: I thought frosty as Fuck was same as fire.
Maybe place the scale at top of thread would work??
I posted the chart above in the Site News section so it can gain more attention. I could list them out on the first post of every POTM thread like you're saying, in a more condensed format. Good call 76.

I like the newly proposed method. It may take a bit for everyone to catch on but they'll get there and it gives the whole contest a little more nuance. Because honestly, I just end up liking every picture lol. But only an elite few get frosty or fire.

I agree. That way I can like everyone s hot fire and still choose favourites. I hate when I’ll not ‘like’ a nice pic just cause I don’t think it’s THE best one.

I think there's a division here for sure.

A lot of us on this forum are technical types. Electricians/Engineers/Developers/etc. Sheer numbers make sense.

However -- volume vs mass are two different concepts. This is what's being discussed now.

I think volume is easier to consume. It won't change the fact that we can run through and like everyone's work. There are a ton of masters of their craft here. That being said, adding an addition layer of complexity will be difficult to maintain at scale. The weighting system on reactions isn't a great UX to begin with, and coaching everyone current and future about that simply won't scale well.

Sorry not sorry, that's my professional experiences coming out. Plus, people aren't going to realize the difference in weights -- facebook don't give a shit about loves, likes, etc. so why would we?

volume of reactions > weight of the type of reaction is my vote.

my 2 cents but don't mean much....

keep it the way it is...... unless you make that shit pile a + iit would suck if someone came in and took points away form someone to be a azz.... and IT Could Happen.......

also and this is me.... I never liked the fack I have to vote 2 times in the same pic..... if your doing that..... I would like to see the same plant bud 3 wks later or whatever form the 1st post unless it's a shot of a bud pulled all ready to see where it's at...

so say you have a plant run in wk 6 1st if the month.... if you post it then it's nit the same when you all went to poll..... why not let the 3 repost IF they Want a Pic of that plant bub at that point..... otherwise why are you polling ??? just pick the winner by likes.......

anyways just my 2cents worth......

I feel like the average pH'er is a little more clever than the average Facebook user lol.
