Pre harvest / darkness theory

I can;t open that vid, but if it refers to putting your plants in the dark for a time period at end of harvest. I do 2 days in the dark prior to trim and hang. I think @CaptC has a link posted somewhere to the study.

Whether it works, or to what degree I really could not say conclusively but it's a great tool for getting stuff out of the tent, lol.

I run 18-6 the last week then chop right before lights on ??? gets my revegging on and gives them a bit more light to pump out the goodies the last week the uv was on 4 hours a day as well right till chop

Interesting concept. Proving once again there's no one way to do anything in this hobby. I just recently read a post made by someone here, something about a breeder that does that, perhaps the Irie Genetics guy, I'm not sure so don't quote me, but it seemed very similar in thought to what you just said..

I was always taught not to fuck with the dark cycle, PERIOD. In my train of thought, it seems this method could induce or even encourage the possibility for herms. Sounds crazy to me but I'm open to to see a results...(in your garden of course ;)) Seems pretty hard to get an accurate assessment unless someone ran a couple identical rooms or tents with the same strains.

Again, interesting concept.

I did pick it up from rasta Jeff lol concept being with a week left the extra light just helps the plant push hard that last week, I've had no ill effects from it in 3 runs now as it usually takes quite a while for the actual reveg to begin so the gal just gets 40 some odd extra hours to work with the last few days

I don’t even bother . My agnostic mind tells me unless you have supporting evidence I’m not buying . Much like religion ? ??‍♂️
I feel like keeping an open mind can be beneficial though; agnostic is Greek for those who don't know anything lol ? ( I figure by now you know me well enough to take a joke) .

I don't put my plants in dark for any period of time, I'm OCD and I check buds on each branch and cut off the branches that the resin has gotten the color I'm after, and leave the rest to finish.

This has me thinking;

I've heard before of people letting quite a bit of the resin turn amber before they pull a plant, and for me at least, I use a jeweler's eye to look at it, which gives me an idea of how far along they're getting, but have any of you guys ever let them get to 50% or more Amber?

From what I understand if the resin is Purple, that's essentially the same as an Amber color in terms of CBN from the THC aging, is that accurate? I have only seen two strains (Grease Monkey, and Cactido) that the resin turned Purple on, and looking on Google, I was only able to find a single post on some forum where someone said Purple resin was essentially like amber resin, and that certain genetics allowed the resin to turn purple, so I'm curious.
