OK so, I know I'm a bit obsessed with the scents of Cannabis, and some other plants as well, and having started down this journey of learning about plants more so than I ever have before, I keep on having thoughts that I ponder, such as the Terpene Profile, of a given strain, or plant species in general, and so I'm kind of curious; I'm easily drawn by Pungent aromas in my favorite strains, and there's other plants that have this too (Titan Arum, Durian Fruit, none of which I've had a chance to sniff) however I'm wondering if Terpene Profiles change much throughout a strain or plant in a way that's measurable.
When I first started learning about Terpenes and how they're what gives a strain it's smell, I was reading on Leafly, which had a lot of stuff about them that I read through, and they also have that graph showing what the top 3 Terpenes in a strain are, and so first, I guess my question there would be how accurate these are? I've since learned that Leafly isn't always accurate.
That then begs the question about the Terpene Data they have, and what they're using to state these as fact.
Example:
Now I don't know enough about this to really say one way or the either if they're accurate or not, and another thing would be Phenotypes adding to this and making it more convoluted because if a Phenotype smells and tastes THAT much different (Like Skunk #1 and UK Cheese) wouldn't it stand to reason the Terpene Profile is totally different from Skunk #1 even though it's the same strain ?
I've seen Terpene Data listed at a Dispensary before, and though I'm not really sure what tests they run to acquire said data (Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer maybe?) I'm interested to find out more, but I'm not exactly sure "where to start digging".
So:
1. Is Leafly full of it? Does Blue Dream (Just as an example) ALWAYS have Myrcene as the dominant Terpene?
2. Does a Terpene Profile change much? And is it affected by Phenotypes ?
3. What is used to give / Get Terpene Data ?
Thanks for any help; I'd look more into this, but what are the chances I find the website NOT bullshitting me with "facts" ? I'd prefer to keep my confusion at a minimum lol.
I also know there's way more than "just a few" Terpenes.... Or at least I saw a website listing multiple new ones I'd never heard of and have to google..... I also "think I can guess" when one has a healthy dose of Caryophyllene based on a nose tingle / spicy tingle sensation when exhaled through the nose. Is that at all accurate too or am I bullshitting myself with that part too ?

Example:
The most abundant terpene in Blue Dream is myrcene, followed by pinene and caryophyllene.
DOMINANT TERPENE
Myrcene (herbal)
The most common terpene found in cannabis and has an earthy scent.
OTHER TERPENES
Pinene (pine)
Caryophyllene (pepper)
