Querkle and Peacetrain Hybrid tests

In Bloom
Testing a few recent hybrids I made using 2 "Steph Nuggz f2"(Plushberry x Cuvee f2) x Golden Tiger(Thai x Malawi) - males I bred, a sativa dominated hybrid with spicy/fruity soda smells which was bred for uplifting/motivating effects.
The females I selected are based on wanting to create a few 'purple' dominated cultivars, indica dominated on one end, using Querkle and the Urkel genetics to bring the flavor and color and the potent medicinal value its known for.
On the sativa/Haze end, the sativa dominated males I selected for "should" help to bring out the more sativa mindbending effects from the 'Peacetrain' purple haze phenotypes.

Pt Moms:
Peacetrain- berry/headstone pheno
Peacetrain- lemon haze/Electric pheno
Peacetrain- Lime Margarita🍹/Uplifting

Querkle moms
Querkle- Grape Soda/hybrid Pheno
Querkle- Coconut lavendar/ urkel pheno

The 'Grape Soda' Querkle's offspring I started first, Half of the offspring bring out the hidden foulness I want from these genetics, rotten sewage fumes and swamp cabbage stank, like a water treatment center stench. The other half of the genetics are the "sweet" smelling phenotypes, almost 50/50, with the prevailing phenotype I can see being "Grape Tootsie pop", the Tootsie roll smell, the candy Grape smell really sticks to the fingers on stem rub, it has some of the floral candy smells from its dad's showing off 😀

In 24 seeds I found a phenotype I have been looking for since 2021, the recessive 'Chocolate Plum Wine' that is hidden inside 'Cuvee' f2's as a recessive phenotype, it's from the mother plant of cuvee called 'Pinot Noir', a clone-only from Oregon. I failed to preserve that phenotype because it had intersex traits, one of the few plants I believe was a 10/10 on flavor and smoke, I've been chasing it ever since. 20241223_163857~2.jpg20241223_163718.jpg

It presents itself to me in male form this time, or so it appears... I have to do a DNA test on the male plants I plan to flower soon to verify 100% beforehand. I will be reversing this male once it is confirmed, I want to what female traits this will pass on, it already smells like a million bucks.

IMG_20250111_111401.jpg'Chocolate Plum Liqueur' male is taking on some passion fruit and guava paste notes, displaying more traits from my Steph Nuggz f2 male than the Querkle, whereas this other male is tighter growth and needs a transplant, more Querkle dominated. I'm getting some DNA tests tomorrow or monday to see if they're both males. By this time next week I want to start flowering these using 'ethepon' to reverse their sex and produce flowers. Whichever produces the superior flowers I will use for breeding, unless they're both impressive or neither(I doubt). My hunch is the chocolate plum male is a stud.

STAR PLATINUM-(Peace Train x Steph Nuggz f2) are currently outperforming everything else, a few potential runts aren't looking as vigorous, but 2 being tossed isn't terrible if the rest look vigorous.

While 'The Schwartz'(Querkle x Steph Nuggz f2) shows the most variation in leaf and growth morphology, with the Querkle/Urkel broad leaf phenotype dominating most plants, a few thin leaf plants in the bunch. If I can get the Urkel flavors and some of the yield and stretch from the father, it will be a win. Lots of potential for 'grape soda' phenotypes to breed to f2's

Star Platinum- a few are starting to smell, toffee and wine cork smells. From the father, a few smells more berry/like like the mother.

The Schwartz- smells haven't matured as much yet, they appear a few days behind, the room is a bit colder where they are growing (75° vs 82°).

It's a polyhybrid made from (Plushberry/Cuvee) x Golden Tiger(Thai x Malawi) bred to f3 hybrid, using the same males in these hybrids. It has some hashplant phenotypes from the Cuvee and Malawi genetics, like this one below IMG_20250124_161941406.jpg
I prefer the "Golden Tiger" sativa effects which are stimulating and overall- very psychedelic, so I selected for those Thai/Malawi effects while trying to maintain as much of the (Plushberry/Cuvee)grandmother's flavor profile.

Here's the (Plushberry/Cuvee) P1 mom, "Chocolate Cherry Liqueur" phenotype and the grandparent to these hybrids.

I want Something like this with dark purple colors, more Coconut cocktail smells added.

I will settle for the rancid sewage gas/Skatole/Indole phenotypes from 'Steph Nuggz' to express themselves, Purple Urkel has some serious funk that most people don't appreciate, if it can be brought out, in flower- that skunk cabbage funk, then I can see those being worth pursuing too.

For those who are curious, if you have a line that produces "chocolate" or "coffee" smells, many of those are Thiol/Indole or Skatole based odors. Improving your feeding/uptake of sulfur will improve or being out these odors from the background, this includes cheesey odors too.

This is quite literally the flavor of this hybrid packed into one photograph, I'd replace apricots with cherries though.

Many floral Thai varieties and hybrids also produce Indole in significant amounts, so I suspect the Thai "cat piss" phenos to have the interplay too, that smell is tied to "black currants" in lower amounts, at a higher ppm it smells like cat piss, from it's thiols.

There's a lot of research now being centered on plant based "Indole derivatives" many are naturally produced by cannabis. Lots to learn.

What's the finish times on that beautiful pheno?

9-10 weeks was the flowering window, this was about 8.5 weeks, about a week before harvest.
There were quicker options but the potency was special on this one, the flavor was very similar to her father, "Cuvee f2".

Star Platinum- Chocolate smelling phenotype looks like the Cuvee phenotype, something else there too, some haze influence, maybe lime cocktail? Chocolate/lime combo.
