iPhone with flash during heavy downpour? I say iPhone because I haven't experienced Android with the ability to not fuck up focus on shots like this.

edit- for a second I thought you meant this was taken with a CT scanner ?
She has an android one-plus. But she was also taking these pics while driving then texting to me so there’s that lol

The Moment lenses are really too expensive unless you're using them daily. There are really good cheaper versions.
I think the fisheye, macro, and tele are indispensable.

I've seen some wild stuff from an old copier/scanner but it was too bulky for anything but novelty use.

I've used my wife's Pixel 5a a couple times but always end up reverting to the 3axl.

There's a big difference between vanilla Android Pixels and something like the Samsung which has more headroom as far as features and options. Samsungs rock. They allow for manipulation of aperture setting and shutter speed.
Open Camera on vanilla Android will come close but Pixels have fixed apertures so really you're just controlling shutter speed.
So Google pixel isn’t as good as Samsung? My parents old pixel 3s kill my iPhone 12 Pro Max

Hahahaha okay so the low quality video is 14mb and the 8k video is 140mb
I don’t think the human eye can even perceive 8k unless your face is smashed right up against it? But then wtf would you be even looking at lol

It's a subjective question. The Pixel cameras are no slouches but they're not designed for pretty marijuana shots, but that doesn't mean you can't get good pictures of bud.
Samsung builds their own phones and develops their own software to do the picture taking which gives them the flexibility to offer a more flexible camera for content makers. They still use Android as the core operating system but with their own modifications. Pixels run "vanilla" Android which is basically the core os with minimal skinning, no frills.

I think the biggest issue is the software that is doing the heavy lifting instead of a quality lens and decent size image sensor. But Google recognizes that the primary user is only taking selfies and maybe some food shots and that's the market they design the camera for.

You can get quality shots from any camera but the more skilled a photographer you are, the more likely you are to get that quality shot.
Like most things, it takes practice. Also understand that framing and background are as important as the subject.

A lot of the shots I see in POTM could be improved easily by running the image through auto-white balance alone and maybe some minor editing.

Always make sure your lens is clean.

Which one? I haven't followed OnePlus since the early days of cyanogenmod so pretty far back.

I’d rather trade off w less bloat ware cuz I’m no photographer although I’d love to learn more about the subject. Lotsa pretty places around here especially after this year’s 2016-Esque deluge. There will be a ton of greenery and beautiful wildflowers which we haven’t seen in over 7 years. Yosemite should be absolutely stunning w bigger waterfalls. Monarch butterfly locust type invasion in Monterey. And I can only imagine what Humboldt/Mendocino/Trinity will be like this year @GthaEnigma. Haha the way the synchronicities have been happening lately maybe we can go grab Hole in the Wall sandwiches and I’ll get to see an older version of trippin balls chick ?

I'm not someone that has carried a camera around with them frequently. A lot of times, going to the coast or the city, we would take off and I would leave the camera in the car.
That was a small Canon 35mm I got from my dad.
To me, it was just too much bulk to be carrying around for the day when I was only going to use it a few times.

I installed Chrome on somebody's windows machine a while back and they gave me a GE digital camera for the work.
It was then I decided I was going to train myself to start taking pictures. I took a picture of the moon every night for a year. It wasn't easy but I got pretty decent at pulling the camera out of my pocket and setting up a shot in a few seconds.
I switched strictly to the phone when I got my Nexus 5x and shooting got a lot easier since I had it with me most of the time.
Now I don't even think about it, it's there, I'm familiar with the settings and comfortable pointing it at something. Framing is everything.... next to focus and having a decent bg so the subject attracts the viewers attention.

Get out and shoot and don't be afraid to clean up the image in an editor. Pot is supposed to make people more creative, so use it to your benefit.

Hope we see some pics. Don't be afraid to shoot the "stupid shit". And be careful what's in the background if you don't want people to know where you at.

This was my first camera! Like @Willie said they arent worth much but still a cool find. Theres a lot of them around because they were the go to for high school photography classes for years. Great camera to learn film on if you get it cleaned. The cool thing with the K-mount lenses is they still work with a lot of digital pentax cameras (just without auto focus). Though I think the move to mirrorless may have killed Pentax. My fiancee is a professional photographer and its not a brand anyone in the field uses these days.

I have a dslr nikon 3200d that's been collecting dust for 5+yrs. My phone takes equivalent pics, minus the macro I can do on the 3200. Plus it's easier to carry phone vs a camera/case and lenses.

Currently my Samsung s22ultra takes some awesome pics. Make sure you go in the settings and set up the pro settings.
