Topanga S1 is an animal...........this was pruned to 4 leads and then those leads were supercropped.......then there were 8 or 9 leads. This was drinking it's 5 gal pot dry every day. I had to put it in a 7. I would love to let one rip outside this year. Needs NO stake, lol beastmode

That Topanga was the crappiest plant I've grown...maybe ever. It went entirety to the hash bag. It was not worth trimming. I am putting it's clone in very small, outside light dep and we'll see if that does better, I did not manage the plant's height too well the first round.
Oh well... :)

I'm stepping through the door

And I'm floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today

BioChar......it's what for dinner. The ash portion is spread on the beds and the char portion goes into the compost. Not to be composted but to suck up alot of good stuff from the compost. It gets planted wherever you put compost and will be like a time release fertilizer.

Finished compost, plenty of creepy crawlies in there

I dug up a whole bunch of those in my garden last year! Also not sure what they are, but the chickens liked them

Black Grape Dum Dum by Eso....oh my........this is one very cool plant. These pics suck and they can not convey the smell. Been a pleasure to grow and I have it backed up twice. But only day 51........more patience required. I have high expectations based on what I see :)

Tomatoes...here's some Mark Twains I put out today.

They are approx 16" or so tomato1.jpg

Time to de-limb
tomato2.jpg
what the roots look like.....these were started march 15th or so tomato3.jpg
the hole............ tomato4.jpg

filled up
tomato5.jpg

Spots are 2' on center and were layed out and prepped with a good bit of compost
tomato6.jpg

They were not thrilled coming out of the cold frame and having their arms and legs ripped off, then stuck in a hole :) But they will be thankful in august when they are well rooted. At first they are going to throw a little hissy fit, maybe look like they are stalled. But they will come on very strong. You have to watch leaving a branch too close to the ground as the rain will splash dirt up on it and potentially kill your plants. Another advantage is that these will be making fruit starting lower to the ground.
Later on in the season we will take some cuts and multiply the army. I have a good trick for that. That's for October fruit!

Cover Crops??? Rootballs???
What to do with all those rootballs? Spread them out in different spots about 6" thick. Then plant with crimson clover in the fall. This is what you have growing now, just starting to flower. Perfect time to harvest it. crimson1.jpg
6" thick because that's about the depth of the roots.
crimson2.jpg
Take a square shovel and cut that 6" back out, with both the plants and roots. You can see the difference in color on the existing grade. here's a plant.
crimson3.jpg
Those white nodules on the roots are nitrogen that was pulled from the atmosphere :)
crimson4.jpg I filled 5 eighteen gallon planters with what was dug up today. Tossed clover and roots right in. Those pots will get sweet potatoes aproxx June 1. At the end of the season, I'll dump the planters out to harvest and then do it again.
Crimson Clover has a pretty flower. The idea is to cut it as it starts to flower to get the max nitrogen. I'll always cut some of the flowers and put them in a vase, they last a while and look great.......
Meanwhile........... finally ordered some Comfrey crowns........now we'll really be growing fertilizer :)

Pink Lotus project is underway. Had a few beans and I'll have 13 players
index.php

PINKLOTUS_SEEDRUN.jpg PINKLOTUS_SEEDRUN2.jpg PINKLOTUS_SEEDRUN3.jpg

I up-potted them all last night into 2gal trade's and it's kind of tight in the 3x3. I may be able to put these in a larger tent, and then again maybe not, ;)
These beans came as F3's, with Bodhi making the original, then Useful F2'd them and then they were F3'd by Kushala Farms. Anyway.. I grew one seed out, good buzz and a very nice cotton candy terp......horrible structure tho and That's something I want to improve. Funny thing is that EVERY single plant here, has better structure than the original. I expect the tent to thin out when I ditch some males, I'd like to keep 2. I have 12 of the 13 players with cuts in the cloner in case there is something good :)
pink lotus3.jpg

Ideally, I have another 30 x 60 tent...I want to veg for 2 weeks then flip.

Now I'm not sure I can pull this off........it's my first rodeo kinda........I should have some beans to share if successful.....hit me up ;)

Looking thru one of my older Greenpoint orders..........good lord I got 7 packs for $46.75 on one order......unreal. :) :) :) :)
Anyway...I popped those 2 Chinook Hazes a while back and the first one is finished. Like trimming a bag of tangerines. It might be the terpiest thing I ever smelled....my nostils were tang'd out for a while after the trim. Very sticky and a well behaved plant...just about to go into a jar...sampled some last night, very spacey and energetic both...but we will revisit
This is the #2 chinook in flower now chinook2.jpg

Bingo Pajamas is happening, has some clones and kids going too......most folks would have culled it. It came up root first......but somehow I saved it and it was just plain funky for a while

In flower now

Three men have appeared, Sin City Juice, Ecto Cooler x Granny Skunk and Dream Axis. GG4 and Cosmic Serpent are up and running.
