Wow, some cool ass stuff he's got on there. There's a few of em that make me wanna drop some $. Lol
They're so bad ass looking though, it'd likely just sit there and look cool, not get used. Lmfao.
Here's the Zombie Killer I spoke of.
An axe murderer's dream. Rofl.

It'll go through a door in a matter of seconds.
Wood, metal or fiberglass, it goes through with ease. I've tested it on many of them for fun. Lmfao.
A great stress reliever hacking stuff apart. Hehe.

Lmao. I read that in an Irish sounding voice.

Has a really nice feel in the hands too. Lol.

That's a nice axe dude. Estwing makes solid products.

At home a just use an inexpensive 6lb splitting maul with a fiberglass frame. Similar size to that big fookin Zombie Killer you got there.

on the trail I tend to carry higher end stuff but have been looking online and nothing caught my eye. Somehow I stumbled on Etsy and found a bunch of cool hatchets and axes and they look pretty well made. Hand crafted with attention to detail. Especially that Mike Blacksmith guy.

I know where you're coming from about not using it, lol. Looks pretty AF.

But I'd use and abuse that hatchet so much lol.

So probably going to hold off on getting a new hatchet (just for a little while). I was going through my needs vs wants list and I have a few other items to prioritize first.

Priority #1 is a new sleep system for backpacking and hunting. A good friend of mine switched to using a custom down quilt vs a traditional sleeping bag and I'm very intrigued. He swears it's a game changer. The main pros are it's ultra light weight (think under 2lbs) and it packs down really small into a compression sack, taking up less space inside the backpack. There's a few cottage industry manufacturers in the country that exclusively hand make these: Enlighted Equipment out of Duluth MN, UGQ Outdoors out of Jackson MI, and Hammock Gear out of Reynoldsburg OH. I'm still doing my research and comparing the pricing of a quilt vs going with a proven 'down' sleeping bag. But once I get my sleep system ironed out I'll transition back to looking for a dope (lightweight) 14'' - 20'' hatchet to take on some of my trips.

Garden wise we're on day 22 (yesterday). Things are doing pretty well. Noticed a slight P or K deficiency on the front left Sugarcane. Some discoloration around the serrated edges of some of the leaves. Also noticed the shade of green is a bit light on one the back right Hyper Fuel. When I top off the reservoir today I'll bump up strength from 3-2-1 to 3.6, 2.4, 1.2 to get that EC up from 1.6 to about 1.8.

Aside from that it's still business as usual. Overall everything looks promising and both the sugarcane have a really sweet / tart candy smell to them. It's still early on so that can change, but the tent definitely has a nice smell.

I did bump up watering the other day from 1/2 gallon per day to about .70 gallons of water per day. I noticed the pots getting a bit light between watering's so trying to stay ahead of any issues developing from that. So far so good, I'm liking the amount of runoff I'm seeing each day.

Busted out some Crescendo last night from last run. Super frosty and hash tasting pheno for sure. All five of the other Crescendo's grown were peach and gas terps, this one smell like kief, pepper, and a little earthy. Definitely a nice strain to mix into the rotation. The taste is almost identical to the Black Forest Cake I grew two years ago from Dankonomics. That same hashy kief smell and taste. It's almost like it's so covered in trichs that you need to burn through a layer of trichs before any plant matter gets burned, probably why I get those kief notes.

Hey @ricky_simples what kind of lighting watts do you have in the 4x4 flower tent if you don't mind me asking? The reason i ask is your feed schedule you were talking about a possable P or K deficiency at 1.6 ec and moving that up to 1.8 ec. Just wondering if i am under feeding the girls sometimes. My calculation shows 1.6 ec = 800 ppm. I never go higher than 800 ppm's on my feed schedule but i am only running 550 watts of lighting in my flower room. I might be wrong but i always thought that the amount of watts used for lighting had a direct connection on the amount of ppm's for feeding the plants under them. Thoughts ?

The lights in my 4x4 max out at about 550 watts. Currently they're set somewhere in the mid 400 watt range. I've been using my lux meter app held at canopy level to adjust intensity and haven't even bothered checking how much power they're actually drawing. I think that front left Sugarcane that is showing a K deficiency ( I think it's K) could just be a heavy eater / feeder. The other 3 plants are not showing that def at all, so I really believe that it's specific to that plant.

So why would I raise the PPM then?

The previous two rounds I've maintained the EC between 1.8 - 1.9, so just a touch higher than now. I think it's somewhat psychological, but since i'm not getting any leaf tip burns (none whatsoever) I feel I can bump that EC up a hare without hurting any of the other plants. I did mention one of the Hyper Fuel being slightly lighter in green than the others, so I'd think that bumping the EC would help that plant too. I have a feeling that 1.6 EC is about as low of an EC I can get away with right now, being the plants are growing so quickly since I'm supplementing with flower initiator pucks, UV diodes, infared diodes and other far reds. I think all that contributes to pushing these plants fast and hard. It's like the garden is a racecar and I'm only putting in 87 gasoline. 87 gasoline gets by, but I need that higher octane stuff to properly run this fine tuned engine that is the flower tent.

Also - let's be honest... I think I'm quite nit picky compared to a lot of growers. I think most people would hardly notice anything going on, but I'm in there everyday glassin over the plants with hawk eyes trying to get as close to a perfect run as I can.

I'll snap a photo of that plant and show ya, curious to get your thoughts on if it's K or something else.

Little bit of some unfortunate news today. Last night I cut down the back right Hyper Fuel. Saw nanner pods developing and decided to immediately take "it" down.

I'm still in a good head space about things, but it's definitely disappointing. That plant was looking so solid too.

I was on the fence about dispatching it, but as I got in there close I saw they were developing on all the major bud sites. Wouldn't be surprised if some pollen got on the other plants too, but I didn't see any that were opened yet. Time will tell.

With all that being said, everything else is all good. I'll get some photo updates here in the coming days. going to be busy as I transition into working from home for the immediate future due to the virus and lockdown.

Day 27 Update

As I mentioned in my last post, the back right hyper fuel had to come down. I've been carrying on as usual with the 3 plants that remain. Both sugar cane plants are giving off a very strong and beautiful sweet candied smell. The remaining hyper fuel isn't giving me much to go off to describe the scent, pretty plain so far.

I got in there and defoliated a considerable amount earlier this week. The stretch is done too. Time to let em continue doing their thing.

In the 2x4 tent there's two sugarcane clones getting their footing in 1 gals. The Ghost Cake and Fierce animal are growing at a normal pace. I expect to see a big jump this week going into their 3rd week of life. One fierce animal has a mutation, had 3 cotyledon leaves and is now growing in sets of 3 leaves instead of two.
