Roots Elemental Cal/Mag

I started using this recently in my soil blend. I haven't had any cal/mag issues to speak of since I started using it. Topdress with 2 tbs every two weeks, and add a teaspoon to my water, every 3rd watering. It has a very fishy smell but it dissipates in a couple hours. It has a very fine consistency & breaks down nicely for watering though a pump sprayer. It's listed as .25-0-.1 & ingredients are dolomite, ground limestone, fish protein & gypsum.

Just started adding this to my flower girl , after switching over to all led . Shits awesome, breaks down fast and the smell is more belly button and butthole. Lol it is good stuff tho I like it

been using this and all roots organic dry line for over 5 years, works great!

For top-dressing elemental apply 1/2-1teaspoon per gallon pot

apply every 1-2 weeks, if your feed schedule is every 2 weeks (instead of once a week) use highest dosage . It takes a week to start working so it’s all about programming ur break down/intake times ( like all organics )

( like majority of dry amendments Inless stated )you can also make a weekly brew and drench it ( so do 50% drench, and 50% of dosage on top-dressing ) many options and just matters on ur grow pref/style . I do both drench and top dressing but lowest dosage, reason why I bother with making tea’s and brewing is it makes the microbes colony at higher rate and plants love it!

Side note(ppe tip) make sure with all these pre grinded and very dusty powder organics, they are dangerous to breath in and people I’ve seen so many times think it’s alright, we’ll wear a simple dust mask and don’t tell me at end of ur sprinkling u don’t have “dust” in it, this is another reason I upgraded many years ago to full face and applying the dry amendments in the dark under green light or not in heat time of day . trust me just like any body part. Once you see issues, so many times ur fucked like many dangerous related things. Time is the enemy and prevention is the key

Very good advice about using a mask. Unless bat guano is heated to very high temps it can still carry the histoplasmosis spore. Normally bat poo is solid and wouldn't become airborne dust unless it is very old. The drying & pulverizing of the guano allows it to become airborne much easier.

Been using all "roots" products by getting th samples of -- ordered many times to get all I needed - have use the liquid (veg & Grow) have the dry ( foundation, grow, bloom and elemental and the two "terp" (veg'flower) can't beat the samples of . . so just use "ELEMENTAL" with top dressing for the minerals ? Do you have a top soil recipe ? here is what I use foxfarms (ocean blend & happy frog) as base then use a dry compost mix, kelp, and volcanic rock dust (forget the name of; at present) for a liquid tea I use -Liquid Gold (Kelp-for-Less) Fish fertilized (Alaska Fish) Myco -Chum (Plant Success) any thoughts ????????????????????? Thanks ( I top soil once in veg and then make one for flower in week 4) thanks for info on Roots !!! Last run feed dam near everyday , didn't affect plants but feel it influenced the plants' taste , even with a short end flush But did use Terpinator and Purpinator Yea ! reallly pushed nutrients even used Massive Bloom (Green Planet)

you Took my my words wrongly. No offense

i said I use The Whole feed schedule for dry amendments but also make weekly tea’s with terp tea + elemental ( I also dress it) and misc other stuff Like compost tea/microbes/fungi/SAR

the key for elemental is its a great source for ur micro intake and gives a extra boost of fish. it’s powered so well it looks like flour so be very careful not to breath in like rest of line .

i used to do my own version of elemental but their form of action of making it so soluable in a rez or top dressed , worth it for me!

their feeding on their bags and website can be qustionanle and I have talked to multiple regions and reps about this, why does it say on website 1T per gal of pot but feeding chart a 100 gal pot is 1 cup , same time feeding ( that’s 1/2 teaspoon?) every single one basically said yes do that rate and it’s they edited a few products I tried to address but also told them they should edit every website page that’s in correct cause imagine wasting 1T vs 1/2 teaspoon, that’s half the season more lol

i originally used their 1T per gal and gradually I went lower cause I def know that 1T rate is way over on whatcha need, it’s def also better to apply it more often than a huge hullo of dry amendments. This is always why they don’t just say do it once a month or every season. It just would be too much to apply witjout having retina ing issues but also it would hill

people also think they need to “mix it in” or even push it into the medium when they are top dressing, this is so wrong cause on roots organics dry it’s so ground up that the first watering, it practically will be fully in the medium and also the key is u want that amendments to drizzle into it not runofff. the plant and rhizosphere is t just on bottom and for organics it’s def worth it to just top dress vs mix in. I used to push the dry amendments it in and thought if I didn’t it would take forever to intake. did a test one year 50% 5 years ago outdoors and if anything the only top dressed vs raking in the nutes /-remixing into medium during tea plant . top dressed looked better

You see how it says 1T, than look at website or bag. I would use like rest of line 1-3 cups per 100 gal pot (1/2 t-1.5t)

website info for product, mkay way diff than bag or feed chart lol, can’t believe this company won’t fix this ( maybe they want people to use way too much, won’t hurt em) ethier way love roots organic

i follow the 100 gal-200 gal where it’s 1 cup on majority, that’s 1/2 teaspoon . other pot ratios aren’t accurate and seem to be over feeding ( doesn’t help ya )

I use this for soil, my coco indoors . Best flavor and yields <3

sounds like a very good - mix -- waht are your amount of/per ?
Use at your own risk....I'm new to the organic game and only have a single run using this soil mix. I'm fairly certain I need back off on the alfalfa meal & possibly bone meal. The lobster compost has just about everything you need, macros and micros, acids and such. For a single 7 gallon bag it would break down to:
Apprx 2.5 gallon Promix, 2 gallon lobster compost, 1.5 gallon perlite. Add 4 cups EWC, 1 cup gypsum, 3/4 cup greensand. 3/4 cup alfalfa meal , 1/3 cup kelp meal, 1.5 tbs bone meal. 2 tsp silica. I based my mix off of the rates using what Espoma & Down to Earth list for dosage. Its a very hot mix, I let it sit at least a month, and keep it nice and damp and warm. Mix well 2x weekly. I add a tiny amount molasses to the water before mixing. My soil PH sits between 6.4-7 watering with 8.0 ph well water. I do light watering, just enought to get a drip out of the bottom of the bag. I water using a pump sprayer so it doesn't run off.

no diss here but tbh people saying uprising or terp tea is “hot” ( also seen threads online saying opposite, wasn’t strong enough and a rip off) really is blaming ethier other products or it’s environment causing such. It’s not that Inless ur adding other stuff .

point is organics is fairly sare on not over doing it Inless it’s a obvious fast intake organic product.

if you even applied 2x-3x+ amount recommend on feed chart ( which I did cause I was following bag feed ) and doing it every 1-2 weeks ( did that for 3 years witjout realizing .. woah that amount suggested is way too much) but the over feeding didn’t burn the plant. It’s just over kill and waste of cash. I mean a good example I even add nitro bat guano on many selected pheno’s just because I notice they are whores. That’s another bonus of dry vs rez/drench applying ur plants is you can selectively give more or less and it won’t be any harder to do.

great n only guano and fairly fast intake organics ( just make sure ur plants need it)
always have at least 1 bag of the 40 lb of this, great stuff

people need to realize with organics vs synthetics , the organics side is a reliance of fungi/bacteria relationship ( plus the slow release of the ferts) and communication cause the plant will preety much communicate with certain species to even break down more of a certain N-K or w/e Allie ship they have and thus making the breakdown, intake or defense functional . Otherwise many organics would take years and god knows how long to actually be intaked , running a multi season ran living soil will show you its not the feed now ur giving to the plant,it’s the bacteria/fungi and misc breakdown when the plant even gets involved . That’s the thing, longer the medium is alive.. better it gets and better the medium can defend against ph instability, root and medium based molds

just saying, the outlook into organics is applying these amendments to know it’s to feed the microbes and fungi but to know it’s for the long term feeding and making it so once broken down and available to plants, they can choose to intake vs synthetics it’s so easy to burn but also get lock out and if ph is off you don’t have a natrual Allies like many bacteria where even if ur ph is off it keeps it 6-7 ( like worm poop)

one of the biggest issue with many growers is expecting ur medium to compete against a organic medium that is truly alive and broken down the first cycle of organics. I can tell fosure my 10+ Year soil outdoor is so much better than it was 5 years ago and I only see it getting better. it’s funny how worms love it so much I can have it on rocks , with landscape fabrics and wood to balance the pots up and yet I still when I move the soil around there’s shit tons of worms knowing that’s the shit1

I used to buy and copy cat uprising ( terp tea wasn’t around then) and I know even when I got pallet sized and mixed myself, it was only a 25-30% discount and I was buying crazy amounts. another con is def mixing the right ratio and making sure like granular pieces and all of it to actually mix correctly. uprising and terp tea def make it so easy it’s just put it on top of ur medium and if ur willing to , apply a weekly-2 week compost tea with terp tea.

easy peezy ( I do this same line for veggies and I’m a cheap ass)

They all have their subtle differences. I take note how long they last. That's most important to me. Typically some of the finer stuff is available quicker and gets eaten up faster. One thing I like about the elemental CalMag. Jmo
Layman's take lol

It all comes down to roots. - seen a product called "House & gardens" root excellator ? seen some real interesting results and it's rated in the top ten root products - Yea! depend what list one is looking at !!!!!!!!) fopund a nutrient line (3 part) called Elemental Nuttrients which is based on Myco (this also is a good rated line) have been using this now for 2 "run" and seem to really increase rooting (sample packs of for $10.00)

I have been using RO dry grow and bloom and recently elemental with great success! I mix an amended soil with some down to earth stuff and elemental. Then use Roots dry grow, bloom and elemental as feeding through veg and flower, mostly flower. Only use elemental if I see signs they need it.
Super simple.
I did burn a couple plants with elemental top feeding. I mistakenly gave it to a few plants thinking they would need it since one started to show calcium deficiency. Well, it either burned them or caused a ph swing and they showed some dark orange/red streaks on the leaves.
Lesson learned. I scrapped a couple plants but I needed the space anyways.
But overall a big fan of RO

Roots organic/aura is now owned by hydrofarm. What I noitce is their stock of 20-40lb isn’t there and prices are up.

well the ingredients are there, so as of mid season this year I’ve been using this.same % of cal/mag and same ingredients it’s just no fish protein . Cost is way chesper aka 20lb = 40

I used to do strictly organic because at the time I figured it would be easier than mixing salts every watering. But honestly there's a lot that goes into growing organic and all these amendments aren't cheap so I ditched it and picked up the salts again. Went with Mega-crop and never looked back.. Just my two cents, for what it's worth.
