Out of all these supposed rks I have yet to hear anyone say they found that old skool rks. Time will tell but at this point it maybe a memory was better than reality thing.

Ya, I often wonder about that. I keep seeing crosses that say they have RKS in them, but if a breeder is holding a real RKS cut they would be insane not to release a BX by now. It would sell like hotcakes... every single forum has a thread dedicated to people looking for "real RKS"

Side note... I spun up a bone of @Schwaggy P Chem91 x Schwaggy's Afghan Skunk and was walking arou d with it in my mouth before going outside.... straight up nostalgic Skunk smell. It's weird cause I don't usually get that from it...

@Skunky Dunk Farms haven't seen it mentioned, The Nature Farm, and I dont know much about them maybe others do. They have Uncle Festers Skunk #18. Might be worth looking into if you haven't already.

They have genetics like none other ive seen, but the skunk funk ain't with it. Some close calls though.

It made my x girlfriend sick to smell it...it is very over powering. I keep it in a cooler in the garage and you can still smell it...it was November when I got the last and I'm almost out, but it still smells so bad I have to keep the small bag I smoke out of in a jar...when you smoke it it blows out the house for the rest of the day...smells like a skunk burnt his ass hairs in there. Smell hits you in the face as soon as you open the front door.

I've run a few different skunk based genetics looking for something similar to the Trinity we used to get in the late 90's in Eugene that had a truly loud skunk profile that could be smelled from down the block and made your eyes water it was so strong. Here are my notes on what I have run below.

Round 1
Authentic Genetics - RKS F2 - Heime Cheba x Todd McCormick (early 80’s Afghan) = There was some very faint skunk hidden in there but not loud, and after the cure it was barely detectable. The high is extremely drowsey. One pheno kicked out monster colas that were covered in resin but ended up culling it and not keeping any.

Hippy Humboldt - Trump Skunk ('81-82 Fort bragg old cal indica (from Jim Ortega?) x RKS from Heime) = This one was a bit more on the bitter side, again, no real skunk that I was able to find. More of a minty, piney, acrid, fire ant sort of smell. And not super loud.

Blue Skies Vienna - BOSS - via OldTimer1 (Pre-skunkman skunk, crossed to the most skunk male) Although Oldtimer1 never claims to have worked with a pure skunk line and calls BSV out as a delusional twat = Nothing skunky, herm prone, fermented fruit.

The Nature Farm - Uncle Festers SkunkBud = Faint piney, fuel/gas, quite mild, not super resinous.

Bodhi - Skunk Hashplant SP33 = Not skunk at all, the hash plant dominated in all respects. Super frosty and spiced incense hash smells. I keep one pheno based on the string high and beastly structure that was covered in trichs.

Duke Diamond - Dominion Skunk - (SkunkVA Chemdog/SSSC Skunk 1 x Skelly Hashplant/SSSC Skunk 1) = The winner from this round. One pheno was spot on skunk, while not as loud as the Trinity I remember this one has the right profile.


I am running the second round skunk hunt as we speak and they are 19 days into flower. Note below on stem rubs alone.

Kaygu/coastal seed co x Bodhi/Plantmoreseeds - American Skunk Selection Colombian = stringent funk, slight sweet skunkiness, gas

JJNY TopDawg Genetics - Super Skunk #18 = piney, pungent complex, veggies, mens cologne, spicey

Golden Coast Genetics - Garlic Skunk = very savory, sharp stringent, super pungent, gas, greasy, skunky

Indian landrace/full power selections - Kandahar Arghandab farm #1 = dumpster, pastrami sandwich, mild skunk, chocolatey skunk

Indian landrace/full power selections - Kandahar Arghandab farm #2 Black selection = acrid, very stringent, like piss ants, super bitter, skunky, tennis ball, new shoe, cheese puff funk

Nice write up! I've eyed a few of these crosses. I may have to take a crack at that Dominion Skunk at some point. I'm finishing up my last run with a clone only Mass Super Skunk that JJ confirmed was MSS but Matt Riot swears isn't... and while it's great, its not skunky at all and is more acrid burnt rubber. Also been running a cut of Bohdi's Hippy Slayer (Dirty Hippy x Roadkill Skunk) and again, it's great smoke, but no Skunk spray. That ones more like garlic and dirty gym bag.

Yeah that was appalachian Super Skunk, which I always referred to as ASS, but then american skunk selection came along and IDK anymore.

ive got hillbilly skunk which is dominion,s afghani or granny skunk x bodhi applachian super skunk. todd from hillbilly skunk farm in vermont has that . im interested to see how it goes as its still early here in season.
i agree with bsv boss pack. mine was like an driving past a garbage tip but nothing that was affronting and rancid.
ill be trying texacannacreation s skunk line ups. he has seversal but the screwed up skunk is meant to be closest to rks. i like where you are going with your selections.

I have had several extensive conversations with Todd. He has given me no indication whatsoever that these seeds from AGSeed.com are fraudulent. He sent over a few pics of his facility when I first found him on IG and I remember thinking that it looked the part for sure. He seems to be quite knowledgeable and passionate about the plant. I did find quite a remarkable Haze profile in the pack of Banana Split x ON Haze I originally purchased so that makes me feel better too lol... he also has current column in Grow Magazine, which also lends a bit to his credibility imo... Not trying to convince you either way @Skunky Dunk Farms, I just want you to know that I did my absoloutely bestest to verify before I started sharing his links, and I really really really hope that you find something worth keeping in your garden. Cause imma lookin too lol...

PS: I really don’t want to seem like I’m endorsing this guy... because I’m not, just saying that it shouldn’t reflect negatively on pH if it does in case backfire... this one is ALLLL Jags fault lol

I believe Todd at AG is doing a RKS project this year, i read from an email from him.

"I will be offering limited quantities of seeds of some of the RKS crosses that I have been working with this year. I cannot say specifically when these will be available, but you will be seeing some of them available in the next six months."

I'll be keeping my eyes open for updates.
