I’m pretty excited to run through these newest additions to my collection, searching for some funk. I think I’ll run all the Ancestral Skunk, and open pollenate for F3s, fingers crossed. The GMO x Swayze has some potential too, with Swayze being Ghost OG x Skunk#1. I’m sure the cross will at least bring some garlic funk, as most Chem D descendants seem to.

I had that last time around; Caryophyllene dominant strains can help; I didn't qualify for the monoclonal antibodies but I did have a shit load of Motor Breath and Chem D that kept my cough productive most of the time ! Seriously find that strain that makes your nose tingle the most and power hit the fuck out of it. All day. Little Moonshine now and then helps too and if you're doing it right you won't care about the Rona LOL. Just make sure it's 120 proof at least; That's the threshold for killing the Covid germs.
And if you're looking for the funk, GMO is for sure a VERY useful addition to that task!! 3 seedlings of regular GMO going right now

Thanks for the sentiment and advice, brotha! I'm really grateful I didn't get it bad, and I'm pretty much back to normal. It went through the family last weekend, and I thought I'd dodged it, but it finally got the best of me. Sunday was fever and sleeping. Monday was achy joints, and Tuesday was heading back to normal, so I feel pretty fortunate over all.
I've got so much stuff going right now with the Chem D garlic / mothball smells, I'm kinda over it, and looking for something different. It's crazy how dominant that smell is, even when the Chem D is way back in the lineage. At the moment, I've got 2 different GMO bagseeds, 2 different Watermelon Delight, 2 different Don Johnsons...all with that profile so far. I can't wait to try them, and I'm sure they'll be nice, but damn, I dunno if I need that many different strains with the same smell lol
So, back around to Skunk...The 1 I have a couple weeks in flower has a funky smell that I know I've smelled before, but can't quite place it yet. It's not Skunky, but something else kinda bitter and acrid so far. I'm really looking forward to seeing how she turns out. I also have a few cuts of her just waiting to root and head outside too. That should be fun!
I'm feeling the itch to start soaking these Ancestrals like yesterday, but I've got a dilemma. I'd love to get them outside for the season, but don't want to waste space with any males.
I'm wondering what any of you guys would recommend as a best course of action?
I've basically got until June 1st before I want everything outside vegging for the summer. I'm thinking of maybe starting these in the flower tent, hoping they sex quick enough, and putting them back in veg as soon as they show, to get back to vegging, and be ready to move outside asap.
I've never actually started anything straight from 11/13, so I'm wondering if you guys see something that might totally fuck me over with this train of thought?
I didn't have as much clone success as I was hoping, so I've got some spots to fill...plus, it'd be awesome to see how they do outside this year, rather than having to wait til next year.
So, yeah, I think it's about time to get these mofos swimming....time's a wastin'!

As for outside; It's still chilly today but within a month or so, it should be good to go with everything outside here. I don't have any space for males either so I start up seeds of each strain, get them vegging, and once outside is OK, I just stick them straight out there and then, as a male shows up I cut it down. Normally it's not much of an issue as long as you have enough of each seed that you have at least a female to work with, and then whatever plants were males, that's how many clones I can take and then, stick those outside too.
I haven't ever re-vegged a plant so I can't really help with that part, but I'm limited on space inside, and generally once the weather isn't snow and wind I can pop them outside. I started 6 Blue Cheese yesterday and a Blue Cheese X Mikado since Blue Cheese does wonderful outside here and doesn't mind it getting cool in fall, even if it's ready before that LOL.
The ones that lean on the Sativa side of things are the ones I generally try and start early cause they take the longest, and it get pretty chilly by October so those generally need the longest time.
I ran a single Chem D seedling last year and was amazed how it was ready about the same time Blue Cheese was. I just planted one of those yesterday in the Tent to get it started
Generally a month won't have the plants so huge there's no room so I'm OK with loading the tent up lol.

Yeah, I don't want any males going outside because they'll just take up space I need for girls, and I'll want to use any males I find in a controlled environment for pollenation.
I almost cried when I had to chop my biggest outdoor plant last year as soon as I saw balls...and the fucker still let a little pollen loose on some unsuspecting cuts.

Yeah I know what you mean; last year the biggest Blue Cheese plant ended up with balls. But that's ok, two were female so I cut 5 clones off the first one that was big enough lol. Pretty soon I can empty the tent and put them outside, and possibly toss a few beans in there and put the timer on 12/12 so I can sort them quick and run a mini grow lol.

Sounds awesome! I started soaking 6 Blue Cheese yesterday of the most pungent of the Blue Cheese from last season. 4 are sunk now and looking forward to sniffing them hahahaha!

So, here’s a question for everyone: If you were actually lucky enough to find *the* representation of RKS everyone is looking for, what would you do with her? Pass the cut out freely? Make S1s or crosses, and start your own seed company? Team up with your favorite breeder for crosses? You know you could probably name your price, especially right now in the canna world.

I'm not actually sure.... well sort of; I'd want to make sure the members here had it and maybe be able to get my Cheese covered foot in the door of somewhere to have a chance at a job lol.
