Finally some interesting pics to post for the Super Silver Sage, Pleasure Dome and Orange Blossom Special x Super Silver Sage cross. All strains were pollinated by a super silver sage male that was the clear winner of the 3 males this round. Chosen for the SSH/Sage stemrub as the others did not show anything worthy.

Pleasure dome - Had one mutant with wild vigor and had to be topped and only cause more stretch to the light. Very interesting terp profile. The other dome has yet to reveal her terp secrets.

Super Silver Sage - all around an awesome plant with sage notes and great yield potential. There is a very unique expression that is very frosty and leans to what I have to assume is the sage side of her linage. sssunique.jpg

OBS x SSS - Very similar in structure to her SSS kin. Overall a better version of SSS due to the vigor and beefier structure. Huge yields expected! One expression has a twinge of cream which would make sense due to the OBS imparting the orange-sicle essence.

Quick garden update. Keep in mind that I'm running 12/12 from seed. This round will easily be an astounding yield if not one of the largest. 12/12 for the win. A Few plants in
the back that haven't got camera time but the look and smell very much like Super Silver Sage. The Orange Blossom x Super Silver Sage special crosses have such an improved structure and terps compared to the original Super Silver Sage. Very happy with these growth monsters!

Hey All,

Its been a while but I've finally got some interesting things to report on. So this is sadly not the most fruitful round I've had. The 2x4 is currently running Bandaid Haze 3.0 and to be honest it is a huge disappointment. Firstly, it is not well suited to 12/12 from seed. Its flower time is insanely long and I suspect even outdoors it would take forever. The structure of most phenos are nothing to write home about. Out of 6 females I culled three because I was that underwhelmed. Now, the main point why Bandaid Haze is getting low marks and not the greatest review... It was reported to have "piff" terps. It has performed better than Topdawg's Uptown Brown in that regard but it simply does not deliver. There are hints of piff but it is a mere shadow of what I used to get in the early 2000s. I really have a feeling that the "crossed with piff" offerings these days are using a really watered down version or its not quite the real thing. It's a huge bummer but what can you do. At any rate here are some pics of the keepers of the recent cull. These will still be longer than average flower times. I don't want to discount that the end product will probably be potent and decent bud. But, its not the piff (grumble grumble) 20210617_111704.jpg 20210617_111711.jpg 20210617_111717.jpg 20210617_111726.jpg 20210617_111732.jpg

Bandaid Haze 3.0 Update - Aborted the grow as nanners started to develop. That was the final straw for this strain. Chopped them hard! I would not recommend this strain at all to anyone. Simply did not produce what was claimed and the intersex traits are a hard pass. Not 12/12 from seed friendly strain. The fun part now is wtf am I going to grow next?

The search continues.... I had a few let downs over the last couple years too... I think the next time I take a crack at haze, its gonna be from these guys... The content they share is a dead ringer visually for what I remember...

Tangie x Sour Strawberries (TSS acronym will be used here on out for ease of reading) by @THT in mid flower. This week in particular the tent is starting to take a very strong citrus/berry aroma. I love this strain. An interesting thing to note. While looking at some notes from previous TSS grows I have found that when growing this strain the Ph tends to drift upward. Not to an incredible amount but the PH will hover around the 6.4 range. I am pretty methodical when it comes to watering and nutrient programs and keep TSS all in the same tote. No matter what I seem to do I get the Ph upward drift. I find the magic spot it 6.0 for ph and can keep it iaround there for the majority of my grows across many strains. Does anyone know why some strains do this? If I had to guess some strains prefer to pull X nute from solution more so than others and could be the cause of the drift?

I do believe your observation on Ph swing and nutrient use is dead on.

In his newest email Katsu is releasing Piff x Gary Payton.

I am so hesitant to try any more of these supposed piff crosses, If even just ONE person can confirm one of these strains brings the ACTUAL piff terps I'd buy in a heartbeat. Bandaid was a wash, Uptown brown was a wash, it's as if these breeders aren't even checking to see if they've bred a decent plant, they just spray and pray. Band-aid was significantly worse than uptown brown, and uptown brown was not the PIFF. Seriously, if anyone out there finds piff flavors, please, show me the way. It's been 15+ years since I've had that weed in my life and even now I am wondering HOW the fuck are dispensaries not full of this plant? How has it been kept a secret for this long?

Yea @Meatman picked up a pack of these so we will get a good look at these for sure! Katsu is known for the real deal, maybe he could point you in the right direction of the cut he used.
Im not much help because I’ve never knowingly puffed any piff. I don’t think it was in my VA circles. Good luck I have faith you will find it.

If I had to guess, I would say piffcoast farms has a good chance of actually having proper piff, or at least what I would consider the real deal.. It wasnt all that hard to find 10 years ago or so. I had friends in NJ that had it regularly, then when I moved to South Florida, I also found it again, it went by Cuban Black Haze, or Crippy down there tho...
These pics are from his IG page, and all three have "that look" of super airy haze nugs with those distinct red 'hairs'

I sent him a DM last night, he says he is gonna restock the site within the next 6 mths, but he also sells cuts of his black haze for 1500 bucks. Too rich for my blood, but I might be willing to gamble a couple hundred on a pack of s1's.

@Kold Kasiz @jaguarlax
thank you for the encouragement.
The question still remains, why isn't this bud in every single dispensary? Why are big names like Bodhi and Top Dawg putting out shitty knock-off versions of such an unmistakable and unforgettable strain? 1500$ for a clone would be a steal my dudes, I'd pay 5K or more for one if it was the real deal. I've been actively searching for this bud in seed or clone for over 15 years. Every lead was a dead end. Something about this just isn't right. It just doesn't add up.

My guess is because the flower time is longer than 2 months. I dont think that the hazes worth keeping are going to ripen in less than 12 weeks, not to mention they are extremely airy. The numbers probably just arent there.

Hey Everyone,

Its been a hot minute. My last run had way too many males between my 4x4 and 2x4 but I did have one real standout. @THT Cackleberry. A really great example of what 12/12 can do. I ended up going from F4 to F5 this round. What a beauty, it should be called Maple OG or something because there are always maple flavors and smells that come along after the cure. Even wet the bud has some crazy flavor. In other news, I have both of my tents reset and will be updating the journal once I have something interesting to post.
