started using side lighting some years ago and have noticed a good return (yields) because of this, if you use cfl's (500watters self ballast) + 4 (100 watters at each corner) gave excellant results NOw fast forward using Quantrum Boards with 12by12 Full spectrum panels on sides - got very good returns - There are even lights that you can put under your canopy that increases yields by 10-15%- if I remember right ( basicly it's a tube lighting that you place on your grow pots) using side lighting can keep plant from stretching too much and fills out your plant better. Didn't use side light last grow and noticed the yields were not as good, but OK, NOw one step better use 12by12 panels (red)- for veg and blue spectrum panels for flower. Thoughts on ?? I do use a good QB's with good light pentration (Budget Led's) feel the extra cost of runnning sidelighting out weighs the returns !! was thinking that sidelighting might influence your main lighting in a negative way in reguard to main light pentration ?

I had two 3' 50w led tube lights standing vertical in the corners of the tent 27"×27" across from each other. 150w Mars led as sun ?.
It lit up the sides and beneath the canopy but I didn't really see a difference in yield. Now I'm still trying to dial in a decent grow so my experience may not be the best.

These look interesting...
interesting lights - meaning the clone lighting.dome- the 12by12 panals are 33 watters (amazon) $35.00 (+/-) find it increase yields at least 10% - see this compamy is in australia hhow is the cannabis legalization there, here at one tiime getting seeds was very hard in that coutry, seems it kind of opened =-up a bit

I use it for my seeded flowering room.
I use a t5 floro troffer with 6 tubes on the top and the same on both sides in 3500k...works great for seed plants...it's just what I had laying around, used it for years like this.
3500K works well for veg - do your yields increase ? t-5's are good because you canget them 2feet long or more to "cover " your sides sidelight stops the plant from really reaching/bending (bends toward the light up-word) side lighnting seems to slow it down and give it a better/fullrer christmass plant instead of high reaching plants with just top buds nothing wrong with tho.

5000k is for veg...a cool blue light..3500k is a warmer light yellow orange in spectrum.
you are right -- 5000 + for veg and even 24-2700K for flower been a while since I ued cfl's next sided lighting is going to be blue for veg and red for flower looks like about $35.00 per panel
