I’m planning to run smallish plants in my 36”x 20” tent. Any thoughts on what are ideal pot styles and sizes if I try to run 8-9 plants in a 5sq ft space. I was thinking 1/2 gallon round plastic nursery pots or the thin white cheapo grow bags from Amazon. Thoughts??
I can fit 9 one gallon pots in a 2x2. Not sure if I'd want to flower with it that tight in there, but they fit.

1/2 gallons in a floraflex setup would crush that space.

I’ve been messing with all sorts of different sizes and shapes of pot and bag this last year. The 7x7 square pots seem to be the most effective. They hold moisture longer that 1g grow bags, and seem to distribute water more evenly making for less hassle during feedings. I snapped a picture so you can see the minimal difference in the space they take up. I think that people prefer bags because of the air pruning effect, but I’m not sure if there are advantages beyond that.

FWIW: here’s the root mass of a finished GOW I have in the dark before harvest. This is the absoloute end of its life cycle and has actually not seen light for 72 hours. Seems A ok to me.

if your hand watering that extra 12 hours the square pots bought me make a huge difference to me. F66AD4BD-2341-41DB-A272-4809B1BEC75B.jpeg 9CE433A2-EB10-4336-8EB3-A8D722D21CCE.jpeg

I agree with jaguar, last half dozen runs have been in the 7x7 sq. white plastic pots, I tried 1 & 2 gal fabric, and smaller 1 gal round plastic pots, you need a sharp knife to penetrate the 7X7 roots take up every inch......coco grows

in order to reused the coco is just cut the main root mass in a ring around it and then beat the root intill 90% or more of the coco is saved. I suggest full face respirator while doing (if it was me)

most of my coco is 5+ years old and there’s zero reason to not use your coco medium . If anything if your adding bennies and fungi and even predator bugs . why start with a less populati0n of defense and better intake? The bennies and fungi aren’t instant on population established eh
