We saw one of those, I am not certain exactly what it is, possibly a mountain Plover.
Our trip was very overcast. I like this video because it shows the extreme depth of field.

'Gut punch': As Crowsnest River runs dry, Pincher Creek forced to dig for water
The Crowsnest River ran dry Thursday upstream of Cowley, forcing Pincher Creek to draw subsurface water from a hole dig in the riverbed.

Only Alberta is highlighted. I trumped up the bottom to MilkRiver basin.
Red, Bow, and Oldman all drain to Saskatchewan systems, on their way to Hudson Bay.
My playground is on the Continental divide. Milk is on its own, down below; making south to Mississippi.
