Yea just a bunch of stuff in there lol. I been cutting with scissors at about 3 or 4 inch above soil line that last shot was after a chop. Just been layering it in like a green manure just not 100% at a time didnt want that much breaking down at once. Yea got a bunch of worms in the pot as well plus a healthy population of soil decomposers. Getting ready to take some pics as im ready to flip these. A week or two after the flip to flower the cover crop will be covered with compost completely and left to break down.Interested in that Chosen Juan. It's in the on deck circle.
I can identify several of your cover crops in there and I rec that they need to be cut. None are symbiotic, they are actually in competition with your crop and could be even be allelopathic, particularly the hairy vetch. I would cut them at the soil line with scissors. When you do, you will be making available whatever goodness they have to the soil. They only provide it when they are terminated. Also keep in mind, that if your soil is good/fertile, the cover crops won't be doing much at all. They will fix nitrogen if there is none in the soil, but nada in good soil.
Are there any worms living in there?
