Allow me to introduce to you all to Rasputin ... so named for her ability to survive what should kill any plant.
Rasputin's background is such ... she was the second Seedsman NL Auto i planted and from the beginning her form and growth were not what I would have desired. The first NL wound up being one of the worst plants I've ever grown ... the smoke is mediocre, the buds are large, and she took forever to finish ... combined with a bad fungus gnat infestation it was enough for me to banish her to the backyard ...
I could have killed her, but I had a hypothesis i wanted to test:
First: Without any further attention the plant would die in short order, especially considering the below freezing temperatures when she was evicted
After 3 months outdoors I can succinctly say, my hypothesis was disproven. The plant has survived snow, multiple frosts, pests, no additional nutrients, no water except natural precipitation.
This led to a second hypothesis: due to internal triggers as an autoflower the plant would flower on schedule.
This was also disproven. The plant is clearly way behind schedule. She is flowering now, and even frosting up a bit, but even for how long this strain runs she is way behind the one grown under more optimal conditions.
In conclusion, cannabis is a durable little fucker ... incredibly hard to kill when left alone ... and stress does appear to inhibit flowering in auto flowers, which I had heard before, but it was neat to see in person.
Remember, the More you Know ... and knowing is half the battle, because knowledge is power ... etc.
