I wish I could sit and read through all the threads. I replied to an old post lol. Have you found anything that is affordable and effective on your gnats?
Haha all good, wasn't that far back. There is definitely too much good content around here to keep up.

The nematodes worked great when I mixed them when repotting but watering them in/top dressing hasn't been very effective. Did kill the root aphids completely though!

Other than that I've just been letting the pots get really dry between watering and its gotten better but they're still around. Think I'm gonna get some playground sand for the top of the pots going forward. I hate DE, it works but it's so messy.

Still haven't found a natural or organic soil drench that actually seems effective.

I hope neem is the trick. I just started using it. It stinks to high hell lol. It works well for anything that sucks sap or eating on the plant. I hope to eventually try making my own creations like you guys do. Might have to wait till retirement.

We are not happy in the Corpse's garden tonight.

I'm pretty sure the Black Apples from Cannarado has sacs... it's so small I had to zoom way in to get a good look at it
20210715_225524.jpg

But I've been watching her lik a hawk having found sacs on the Apple Sundae too.

I can't deal with another seeded crop so shes probably gone. Extremely displeased, especially having just lost those other plants to bud rot.

Meanwhile, 14 of 24 seedlings survived the aphids from that round. 5 were fems and 9 were regs. Now we have two confirmed males from the survivors, and two probable males... really hope these last few are female. Not that I don't have plenty of plants going still but we're starting to teeter towards an actual supply issue if things don't get back on track soon

Bummer you didn't throw them out last fall. Ironically, the best damn plants I have outside are volunteers I told my girl to toss last year.

They were strays on the tray from last year's chucking adventures, so I know the daddy is Skunky VA x Skunky VD, but not which momma bag they came from.

They're now the youngest, healthiest, and largest plants out there, despite aphid residence, and other problems they just seem to shrug off. They're taller than me, and the most even green I've had lately by far, and are basically just growing in a pile of rabbit shit, though I'm sure their roots are plenty deep in the soil by now.

I'm convinced now that mother earth is laughing at me, kicking me in the ass, and teaching me to just trust her.

All these clones in a cheap pre-bagged mix, and coco, and mega crop at 6g/g, and they're looking all hungry still, and the unknown volunteers are thriving...

So, lesson learned... Plants go in natural ground, early, for best results next time. Gotta trust mama to do her thing lol

On another note, regarding Hermie's...
... Honestly, I probably don't want this answer, but...
... How the hell do so many people seem to get them, when their gardens seem to be in such better shape than mine??

I swear, I regularly, unintentionally, throw more stress at my plants than anyone I know, but thankfully, have avoided herms for the most part, even growing some of the most herm-prone stuff out there.

I've regularly left the center zipper on the tent open all day, bugs are a constant threat, I've let them dry out when the res gets low before I noticed, flower in shoes too small... Damn near everything we learn not to do... Yet, I've been extremely lucky to generally find no seeds.

So, I guess I'm a little perplexed as to how I get so lucky missing intersex threats.
I'm definitely not bragging though. I'd take a few seeds to finish my plants as nice looking as everyone else here. Mine usually come down a little early, and miss the mark by just thaaat much lol

Anyway, sorry for the novel, but keep up the good work man!

Yours still come out better than mine, even with the surprise beans!

Honestly sometimes I think it's just luck on the intersex plants man. I didn't see a single one for years then all of a sudden I can't get away from them!

It's funny with the volunteers though. I see that with my veggies too... a lot of times those stray seeds from last season that manage to germinate will end up being more vigorous then my transplants... they'll handle droughts and bugs better and just grow so fast. They just also usually come up so late around here they don't have time to finish. These little guys will end up turned into the pile in a couple days.

Well, I guess with all the other bad luck I have, maybe it's just good luck evening out, not getting herms lol

I hear you on the rogue veggies too!
Of all the veggies and weed seed we threw in the compost last fall, the only other thing to pop up was a random broccoli (I think) plant. That fuckers gotta 5ft diameter right now, and growing like a monster, despite being chomped holes in, looking like swiss cheese.
Again, growing in basically rabbit shit, no extra nutes, damnit.
Apparently, any help I try to give, just ends up hurting lol

I should start a Tshirt line called "Hermies Happen" as a matter of fact I've had seeds in every grow except my 1st one and no matter how hard I try, as long as I have these fkn gnats all its going to take is a couple late nannerz to pregnate the new additions. I hade a 2 Stroke Lemonade from 7east royally dick me. Every branch had nannerz tuckbehind like the plant strategically hid them in an attempt at natural selection n I've never in my whole 1 year of growing seen such trickery. Lol

I had to literally pull a lower nug away from the stem to reveal the namners. I was actually impressed at how well she hid them. I was TRYING to be diligent because previous crop was seeded lol but it's all a learning curve.
I would also like to note that I tortured her too with Mainline training.

To many people have just let To Many Breeders sale to Many Shity Beans...
Instead of Telling The Truth About Them..

It's always something the guy growing them did so it doesn't piss anyone off..
But

The Truth is the plant line has problems and the Beeder is the problem for letting $$$$ over ride the truth about there cross.....

Indoor growing is in itself a major plant stressor. They still can't match the wattage of the sun. It makes the tipping point for stressors much lower imo. I have raŕely found seeds in my flowers and only ever had to chop one plant for intersex outside. And it was a rando cross of my creation so i blamed me. When I have found seeds, I have neighbors who grow too, lot of em. Some breed, some are less skilled, etc. Good luck finding the culprit.
