One benefit of DWC is that there are hardly any bugs (in an indoor setting). I dont have thrips or mites I have seen a buddy get thrips/mites in hydroton but that was only once. Hydroton is usually pretty sterile. I do get crickets and spiders but nothing detrimental to the plant itself. One of the pros of hydro imo.
Yeah, I used to run DWC and I never had these kinds of problems. And I miss not having to haul all this soil and crap around. But I grow in the basement in a rather old house and I could always hear the pumps laying on the couch in the living room and it drove me bonkers lol. Still consider switching back sometimes but it also would be a pain in the ass to switch back over at this point. I have a lot more tents now then I did back then.

That makes sense lol. With a handful of tents that is a lot of mechanical noise.

Well obviously didn't get a new thread going. Kinda waiting until I get the 12/12 tent going. Everything is germinating slow right now. By my standards anyways, I'm used to everything be up in 48 hrs but for whatever reason it's taking longer this time

Hippy Slayer 33 was 100% germ rate in the first test though! Only 3 beans but a good sign nonetheless. Gonna run them in the 12/12 tent and see how they do. It will be real nice to know I have a backup if I lose the cut after all these pest problems. The mom is heavily infested with what I initially thought was root aphids but which I'm now thinking are thrip pupae... I dunno, I'm not an entomologist lol. Still waiting to see if any clones take.

Meanwhile, the Athena IPM is doing nothing anymore. Initially it seemed to get the infestation in check but I'm starting to think that may have been a coincidence. I pour it on and just watch the little creeps scurry about anyways. Virtually no effect at all. So I won't be wasting money on that product again. Hopefully the sand helps prevent them from emerging once I get it down. I got sidetracked yesterday and forgot to pick it up.

Feel like my entire grow is just an expirement in IPM at this point lol. Thought having the tents empty for a few weeks would help, but nope, here we are again!
