The Hoe Down Symphony

Hello pHenohunters, welcome to my podunk ways to of doing things. If you know of the Foxfire books, then you may get my, minimalistic ways.
This all starts with mixing medium, on a tarp in my basement.
I start by hydrating a large brick of Coco Husks.
One this run, it happens to be a 35 gallon dedicated trash can (color coded) full of used, and VERY dried out rerun busted up root balls from a previous run or 2.
I then add a bag of compost to it. I did NOT add large chunk perlite to it this mix, as it's not needed.
Dr. Earth boxes of goodies, 2/3's of a cup: Bio-Alive, Acid Mix, Feather Meal, Neem Mix, kelp, Langbeinite, Bio-Fish, Bat Guano, then full cup diatomaceous earth, 1/3 cup Humic acid.
Then the Hoe Down Symphony starts as I mix this mass up. Hell, I even get the snow shovel involved!

I spend about an hour, walking in circles, working the shovel and hoe, getting everything mixed and blended as good as I can, then back into the White Rubbermaid can. White, was once my hydro tea tote, when I had 3-4 tents set up. With a roll cart under it, made it a treat to work with. I did buy a red one, flower juice, yellow transition juice, Green veg juice. I got all 4 from Uline, for what 2 hydro reservoir's would cost me. Tents are all gone now. Great medium storage now!

Ok, so now we are in another area, and yes that is Panda Walls. Just how silly is that? You may ask, well let me explain, short version. I ran in tents for 12-14 years or so. Last year, we remodeled the house, and I had to shut down everything. I could not find tenets with the ports located where I needed them, unless, I paid up, and got expensive tents. I bought one to place in our bedroom to save my ladies, a Gorlilla Lite 4x4x6.
Then a roll of Panda 50' x 10' was $50.00 so I used Panda, and have fallen head over heels in love with NOT CRAWLING in and out of TENTS!!
I'm a year into Panda walls, and LOVE them!
So, into veg area we go, and up pot from 1 g's to 3 g pots.

Hoe down indeed! I threaten the wife at least twice yearly, by telling her I need to buy an old concrete truck! That way I'd only have to do that hoe down on an annual basis!
I've also considered the Panda wall Idea. If I go that route, I will use my tents for breeding exclusively! How do you access the inside? Getting away from zippers would not hurt me in the least.
Great idea, thanks for the nudge!

My last tent, for flowering, each plant is staggered entry, the plants are all from what most consider cheaper/lower cost genetics, or yester year reproductions. There is an ORFN or 2 in there, S1 seeds I find in my bud, from Honey Badger Haze's I have kept for years now. A Sweet Island Skunk, a 2021 offering just stuff we love, stuff offered cheaply or for a donation.
Couple more pics and I got to turn myself in to Trim Jail for a while.
Thank you for warm welcome here, and I got a great story to tell about that!!

Hey Rozgreenburn, 1 3 2022 012 Final Build 3rd space.JPG
I set up this weird roll handeling set up, measured out 7'8" this inclides a fold at the top then staple the wall through a square of card board, and that secures the wall very well.
In the bottom edge, I rolled up, and stapled a pocket of sorts, to slide a lite weight pole, that simply helps them not flutter around.

This across the front of all 3 areas, with the tent at the end, with an area beside it. No light leaks to worry with. As silly as it looks, it works perfect for me.

I do believe this will come into play after my Spring cleaning.

Silly is but a perspective. Functionality is never silly bro!

Hey Rozgreenburn, you are correct, about how a thing functions, over the looks of it. I love my Panda walls! I love standing up to garden. I can swap out any area so much easier.
Hey UncleB Thank you stopping by!
Later in the past year, I started to sign up on the threads that offer seeds for a reduced cost or free, or to test for someone. If your beans can live through me and my ways, they are tough, stout, and very hardy, LOL!
A few months ago, I saw a plant, out door girl, beautiful, down in Virginia, called Buttered Cowbell.
I copy/paste seeking info, and find DCSeedExchange, and Brisco's Beans.
I then really start to scope out DC's catalogued items, and reading of the various breeders there, and more copy/cut/paste searching, when I see the pHenohunter banner.
I slide in, and start reading, and realize right away, I love the vibe here.
In that same day, I see on another hang out, Ill Eagle Bird Seed, is seeking testers. I give it some thought, and get a 5 grip sent to me, and start the them.
So, I come back here and read a bunch more. Then see Ill Eagle is here also!!
Finally I register, and make an Introduction thread.
WOW, I was amazed how many folks offer most kind welcome greetings.
I get a nudge towards a seed give away thread, make a guess, right before it ended.
A couple of days go by, and get a PM from UncleB, about some things I posted up about myself, he could relate to, as his father once did some of the same work I had done in my past.
**He also, organized for me, to get a Treasure Box Collection from HydroRed!!**
I've been on the boards since 1999, and I never was gifted such an amazing collection, by someone I'm just getting to know! My wife and I, are recently retired, we have budgets to work in. This gift, and it's an amazing collection, I could not afford, without some saving up time, and would have missed being able to get it as a special, that HydroRed set up with DCSE!
A HUGE Thank You UncleB for this sensational gift!! I will give out cuttings and rooted cuts, to anyone that wants from any of the treasure chest collection, as I grow them out and show them, to give something back. Thank you UncleB for amazing gift, that we will cherish and share.

I grew up reading the Foxfire books! A family friend had the complete first printing at their house on Marthas Vineyard and I would be bored down there between fishing trips while the adults were getting their drink on and I wound up reading the whole series over time. For some reason the step by step instructions for hand splitting shingles is ingrained in my brain. Apparently 10 yr old me thought Id need that someday. Not something I see referenced all too often these days!

Love your setup! You'll love the gear from both @HydroRed and @stanknugzz77! Those guys throw some serious fire.

Hey everyone THANK YOU all for the most kind comments!!
Hey Kanzeon, OG was the first place I found, on the first night, I ever got on line, late in 1999, man what a fight club it was back then. After lurking for a year or so, I was mostly in Krusty's Freedom Bucket thread. I built a system, and ran it for 2 years, until we could not stand the THUMPING of a Thomas pump, cranking out extrema air 24/7/365!! Love the system, and Krusty taught me so much about growing. He is a great guy, IMHO.
PlumerSoCal, I'll grow show them, but man there are some fantastic growers in here. I will try to run them as best as I can.
UncleB, dang man, if a person can be gut punched in a good way, I'm gut punched with your generous gift, I hope to pay it forward!!
Gentlemancorpse, as a kid, I would be a runner at the local Friday/Saturday auction, that was beside where I lived. At the end of the night, I'd make some tip money loading up stuff for bigger lot buyers. I also found out lot winners, would just toss stuff, they did not want from the lot they won. Got my first bicycle pieces to make one with that way.
Years later on, maybe 1975 maybe 1976, I happen to go to that auction for shits and giggles. I did not buy anything, but when leaving I saw a car, toss a box on the back landing area of the auction. I stopped to look at it, and there was some FoxFire books in there, then the car backed up, and yelled out to me, " hey if you want those, here are a couple more, and flung them out the window", I just shrugged, and picked them. I then fell head over heels in love with them, as I live in the foot hills of the Appalachian mountains.
You can learn it all, from soap making to moonshining!!

I did get my lazy buttocks, to cut and hang area 1's, aqua tray, of a pair of Santeros Killer Grapes, these are S1 beans I found in buds as we smoked them.
These buds are potent, super smelly.
I also cut a SAWA` Natty, a delicious scent to her. We are anxious to sample these, as it's the first cut for us.
12 18 2022 019.JPG
These are very small buds, as I opened up a can of stupid, and indulged. I did not label a container, had mixed up some bleach/pool shock to clean a reservoir. Got a visitor, and the next day, pumped it into a this reservoir, thinking I mixed up nutrients or tea, brain fart. Yellowed them badly, stopped the bud swell.

I've got the plants bud into jars, and will run the sugar trim tomorrow, for my wife's green butter needs.
That area, I cleaned out, vacuumed the floors, walls, cleaned the intake screens, as I pull this whole area, into another room, into a big carbon filter, with a 6" Vortex/speed controlled.
My veg area, is unruly and bit wild. So, I wanted to get into flower as much as I could. So I took a pair of SweetIslandSkunks F2's that are maybe 6' now, and very willowy to bend them under a screen, just was not sure how. You call on your 3.8% Neanderthal genes for inspiration.
12 20 2022 004.JPG
I then rolled another in that room. Then reset my screen supports, and fastened them together, so I can lay the 2" x 3" garden wire screen over and rest on the speed rail fittings.
12 20 2022 014.JPG
Then I bent one over while holding the other end of the screen up high, placed the right side onto the fitting, then reached over to the left plant and bent her over, and lowering the screen at the same time. Worked very well, after 14 attempts at it. It will be a cool screen developing or herminator screen.
Sorry for those squeamish around Cannabis BDSM, look away now, in 5...4...3...2...1

12 20 2022 019.JPG 12 20 2022 020.JPG
12 20 2022 022.JPG
This ended my evening, just flopping the screen on them. The next morning, I added 12 gallon saucers under each pot. I trained the branches, weaving them through the squares, then stripped the straggel off, cloned some of it just in case I did not herm them. I then rolled a few more plants that will just fill space in that area.

Thank you spyralout, pHenohunters is a real gem, and gems are made up of the excellent minerals around them.
I never think my way is the olny way, I prefer to show what I do, to offer simply my twist on things.
I'm also a hopeless tinkering fool.
