Yeah, it's awesome that we even get the chance, and I'm so glad there's been as much success as there already has!
The CBs are really intriguing to me as well, and I hope there's a bunch of beans for those brave enough for the potential flower time.
One of the reasons I wanted to check it out was for an old neighbor, an Ol Navy guy, who said CB was the best he could remember.
If it turns out nice, I'd like to get him a few beans....after a comparative sample, if he thinks it's anything close.
I'm also stoked more each day about the possibilities of the Afghan crosses, and wouldn't have them without the preservation efforts.
I haven't started a journal for the CBs yet, but the tentative count is 7/10, cautiously speaking.
The 1 from the first batch that folded over on itself is still alive, and facing light, but it's middle stem is about 1/32" thick.
1 of the second batch didn't break ground, and was the least out of it's shell when planted.
1 of the second batch seems to have dampened off like the one from the first batch, but is taking it much harder, much quicker, and with less apparent reason.
It's closer to more light, and had less wind. Dunno...
So, there's technically 9 alive, but 7 without any issue.
Only 6 months or so left to go lol
