It will definately be a spectacle of glowing glass, oozing rosin and many billowing clouds of smoke. Timing will be key.
So I'm a bit backlogged on my squishing....finding the time while spending a lot of it on my myco projects is rough...anyways still debating hash rosin or flower rosin..LOL...leaning flower as it will cut my work and time investment..

no..not at all...this is day 6 of the cure, the terp combo of all strains, and the breadth of cannabinoids..make this a heady, mental, sedative hitter.....not much of a dab n go hitter..lol..stay parked lol

I got out of work early and read through most of this thread. I have many questions, but first and foremost, is a freeze dryer necessary with live rosin? Everything I’ve saw, the process is, freeze fresh bud, wash in ice bath in bubble bags, freeze dry, sift (through what looks like a flour sifter) and then squish. A buddy and myself are going in together to buy a press, I just can’t afford a freeze dryer for what little bit of personal we’ll be doing. Recommendations of affordable presses that work are greatly appreciated too!
Dont need the freeze dryer it just makes things quicker and more consistent. Before freeze dryers a longer process it was.. just take the 25u screen you spooned the hash from the bags on, throw in freezer to freeze it ..pull it out and microplane on parchment (inside a pizza or cardboard box), that way it dries evenly. Low temp/low humidity is best. takes a good 10 days at least, with a freeze dryer you can press in a little over 24 hours...
Kind of partial to the dabpress for the price, i mean id love some lo-temp plates on a dake press personally, but not needed. I recommend a pump pressure gauge.

Seeds will fuck it up because of the moisture . I'd get a dabpress brand press . They are like 350 and get the job done. Just remove the seeds first and u be fine . Just found mine and took a pic.

Are those plates heated or is that where the higher costs come from?
Size of plates/tonnage of cylinder. I would agree dabpress is the way to go. Good entry price for quality gear...I went the 10ton route and manual pump with guage which is preferable in my opinion. I would lean toward the 12 ton though with larger plates..which is a little more.

I broke a couple dif ones before getting that one . What a tank . And the tungsten coating makes wiping off the platens a breeze. Just a dry paper towel , I love it
