Ok ill give this a go.
If im gonna move in here i might as well jump in.
Im just past the 6th decade in life and have been at this growing stuff seems like forever. I started in national forests actually, gorilla style. Way to much work!
Anyone ever do a whole run under T-12s?
Ive been running HID since late 80's when stoners discovered 1000 watt MH, the standard for many years. And then to HPS 1000's and 400's and finnaly 600's for the last 12 years.
But this year i decided to try this led craze and as of now i have 6 288 qb Kingbrite panels.
So,,,
Im nearing the end of this round of some BX Bruce Banner from elav8 seeds and a couple Nature Farms varieties of Noble Skunk and Vagos Skunk.
I started them back in December and flipped March 22nd so im almost at the 8 week mark and the skunks do look almost there.
This is my first grow under led and im quite pleased so far.
And with that heres a few pics. 20200326_160641.jpg 20200327_082610.jpg 20200316_080958.jpg 20200501_071109.jpg 20200503_111927.jpg 20200503_111806.jpg 20200514_081626.jpg

Wow gorgeous lush and healthy plants! Welcome to pH. Glad to have you on board, much respect for the experience coming with you.
Several of your plants have that similar "squat stack" and fan spread:

That cross-section of the square trunk looks super solid. Very nice work (y)

is that the bruce banger?

No, it is a back crossed Bruce Banner.

How are you likeing the leds compared to the 600s? Light penetrate deep enough?

Actually im amazed at the vegging ability of these panels, i dont trim or defoliate any of my plants and they are green and healthy down to the soil! The only leaves that come off fall off.
Now, as for the flower. Im soon to decide on that aspect, the skunks are just about there.

Thanks man, that trunk was one of the 5 week old males i cut.
These Nature Farms skunk plants are definitely indicas. I am sure these would be the "Giants" if grown outside. Quarter pound colas.

Damn nice work my friend!~

Thank ya!

So let me give a run down of my previous methods.
I finished my last run in December under HID's.
My room is 9x13, i use Smart Pot 6' long bags for my container which holds 93 gallons of soil (8 bags).
I run a Light Rail 3.5 over my canopy which is 3x6+.
I have a pair of Magnum XXXL 6 reflectors with an additional socket installed perpendicular to the other one so i can run 2 bulbs in each one.
I run a 600 HPS and a 600 MH conversion bulb in each reflector.
I start my beans under a 6x4' T5HO fixture for a couple weeks, bring them in the big room and run 24/7 under MH for a couple weeks and then add the HPSs to the mix and run untill end of veg, minimum 9 weeks usualy longer.
Then turn back to 12 hour days under all 4 for 3 weeks.
Then going into the 4th week i start with the 2 HPS at "sun up" for 2 hours then turn on 1 MH for 4 1/2 hours then off then the other one for 4 1/2 hours then off untill "sunset". This may sound like less light at the end but it sure works well.
Ive only used guano teas exclusively with a little fulvic, humic and kelp and micro blast

Last harvest was average, 49 ozs. From 5 girls.

Can i get close with these LED's?
Time will tell,,,,

Do the LEDs have anything to do with this ya think?!
I just took a little cut from a Vagos for tasting and only the top exposed areas are turning yellow and or purple. Anything under looks young and tender.
The Bruce Banners calyxs are purple also on the single plant.
I raised them up 6 inches.

EDIT.
I must confess i did a blurple grow with 2 300 watt Mars units a couple years ago=fail. They went full term in a 2x4 tent and were completely purple ,, that is for the parts that didnt die off.
This is looking similar.

Anyone got a thought

I think it's just your plants...... the only thing I'm seeing and I think you will see is the weight isn't as good...........

These are not a usual choice for me, my wife wanted some variety.
The 2 strains i pull huge from ( i like extra to make concentrates) are Sensi varities Skunk #1 and their Maple Leaf Indica.
Many crops of these and crosses of both with huge colas thick and heavy.
Those are what i need to try under these panels for a fair comparison.

Very interesting. Like you're simulating the Emerson Effect? Very cool approach using HID. I think the main thing you will see with LED (from what I've been observing running "real" LED [non-blurple], and from what I've read from others' experiences), you may not see as full of development in your lowers. I think this is where the "COB vs QB" difference comes in, where COBs seem to penetrate like an HID, vs. QB where the light dissipates more at the top of the canopy.

Personally, I am really liking CMH in the mix with LED. HPS, while very effective with "brute force," gets really hot especially if you're running multiple units in a summer garage (I've given up on that). It seems to pack on more weight than just plain LED, but the LED make frostier buds IMO. The frost from LED vs. CMH is even more different (I prefer CMH frost, the trichs are elongated and cover the bud, making them look "fuzzy.") I had one plant that was catching 3 different lights on different parts of the plant. All of the buds and leaves were different from each section, so I think the LED effect is definitely one of the things you're seeing. If you haven't noticed already, plants under LED generally eat up more Cal Mag than plants under HID, especially in water systems.
