The .Smoke Shack

The Original Glue was looking pretty sad last night. I'm figuring it's some shock from the transplant. Wake up today and she's still looking droopy...

So, I'm sitting on the porch having my morning cigarette when it hits me...
I transplanted from perlite/vermiculite to hydroton which is bad enough on them, but, I also put them right back under 100% full lighting...
Talk about a noob mistake...
So both plants have now been slid to a more appropriate area... whoops.

The Glueberry cut is holding strong

Chemdog Gorilla looking pretty

And then there's the GDP monstercrop clone...
20201106_121817.jpg
Now, you're probably asking yourself, "Why the %#$@ is there a 8" clear saucer on there?? First he f'ed up his lighting on the transplant, now this sh#t?"...

I call it "innovative LST"... a.k.a. "lazy as hell, but surprisingly good results" LST:giggle:

I think this one is going to end up a monster...

So, all in all, I think if I get my head out of the clouds and stop making rookie mistakes, everything might just come out alive at the end of all this...

Day 70 and it was time to take down the bottom of the Granddaddy Purple.
20201107_170541.jpg
She was full of these medium sized nugs...
20201107_220816.jpg
20201107_220931.jpg
And had quite a bit more left to her than I expected.

Wet...

For us in 'Merica, I used my calculator :) It's about 53 ounces. The colas lost 75% weight during drying, so if that holds true she should come in @ 1.25lbs+ total harvest.
I guess that gives me my goal of getting 1.5+ off the clone I took then...
Challenge accepted. :ummok:

Sometimes a little crazy is exactly what you need...The GDP is looking pretty happy after a few days under the saucer.

The Glueberry cut isn't showing a single sign of stress in the cloner, but you can really see how the 2 plants that got moved to the hydroton buckets are struggling.
20201109_143342.jpg
The larger one is getting hit the worst. What I'm thinking/hoping is the roots were more "soil" root than hydro coming from the perlite, and hopefully after a week or so they can get transitioned over.

Chop Day 84 for the OG Kush auto flower.
I was waiting for the pistils to redden/recede, but this seems like one of those autos that just isn't quite right.
Trics are all at the "in between" stage of moving from solid milky to cloudy/amber and she just keeps foxtailing/throwing new pistils so I figured it was time.

She still managed to throw out some decent colas for an auto flower. Albeit a bit on the "fluffy side"...

I'll chalk this one up to having fun and continue on with my photo period plants :)

Got the rest of the GDP dried and trimmed.

Total was 480 grams. Not bad for a first run on the plant.

I took a cutting from the Green Crack and got her in the cloner.

There looks to be some vertical growth on the Original Glue and Gelato, so I'm thinking (fingers crossed), the transplant to the hydroton might have been successful.
It's still too early for me to feel 100% yet.

I also ordered one of the Method Seven Camera lens filters.
Seems a bit pricey @ $30, but comes with a $20 coupon that means I might just get some new glasses soon too :).
So hopefully I'll have some better pictures in the future. I currently use the lens out of a broken pair of old glasses. PITA.

I'm still having issues with my clones. It finally dawned on me that I haven't been using the cups with tape on top over the cuttings. A.k.a..even though they were @ the corner of the tent they were still receiving too much light and were photosynthesizing (is that even a word??) instead of focusing on making roots.

I figure since I'm going to have more instances where I have multiple clones, it was time to figure out something a little more permanent than the cups.

I present, "The Clone(r) Dome" :)
20201114_133205.jpg
The white top diffuses the light well, and a few holes for access and some airflow is all it needed.

I'm hoping this solves my issues. I'll be out of crackpot invention fixes if this continues too much longer...

Love it!!

I got one item marked off the list so far today. It's "changing of the guard time" for the veg tent. With one last bucket of perlite (thank god) left, I decided to get her setup for running the DWH buckets.

For the first time in 1.5 years, my tent..looks like a tent...
20201115_141308.jpg
No more pallets to bust my knuckles on. Although the wood did give it a nice "organic" touch...but I'm happy.
The pallets served their purpose well, but were a real PITA most of the time.

The clones are looking better after a night in the dome. 80F 60RH.

This little guy showed up today too...

So after I get some more things accomplished, I'll be snapping/posting some pics of the flower tent to see how this thing does.

Just snapped a couple photos on my way out. I can see a lot more color definition coming out using the new filter.

The Gelato is looking pretty good even though I've been dealing with a PH lockout through the whole tent.

Blue Dream showing some trics. She's @ week 7 from flip, but only 4-5 from showing pistils.

I've been working non-stop the last 2 days in the room trying to get things fine tuned. There's still a lot to get done, but, thanks to a butt ton of testing I've managed to cut my wattage back from 3,000w to 2,050w in the flower tent using 2x-650w hps in the small hoods, and 1- 1000w @ 750 in the large hood while still obtaining 600 PAR @ the edges, 48" under the hoods. That allowed me to also remove a 6" 440cfm exhaust, leaving 1- 8"- 720 cfm fan soley venting the flower tent to the outdoors, and another 8"- 720 cfm fan also with the scrubber in the flower tent, cooling the 3 hoods, then passing to the veg tent to cool the 315 CMH and venting outdoors. All while heating the veg tent to 78F for me thanks to the heat transfer. :)

So, a lot done with more to go. Back @ it after some sleep.

The Granddaddy Purple monster crop got moved and will begin flower tomorrow. I didn't want to flip her yet because the tent is pretty full, but I'm worried if I don't do it now I'll have a tree on my hands...
20201117_224415.jpg
I figure I'll give her a day or so to get adjusted to her surroundings, then I'll put a net over that 1/2 of the tent for a bit to try and hold back the stretch.

That means there's only clones and the new DWH buckets in the veg tent, and believe it or not, things are actually alive.
20201117_224432.jpg
20201117_224507.jpg
And I'm finally starting to get some root growth now that I got things 1/2 way sorted out.
20201117_224628.jpg

Man, this has come a long way since I stopped by last. Lookin good. So, I spied a cactus. Is that in a hempy setup? Never considered a hydro setup for cacti, only reason i ask.
Thank you.
And yes, that's a hempy Cactus :)
Had a few people tell me I was crazy for trying it, but I put it in the same perlite/vermiculite I use the day I got it home.
After 6 months it seems pretty happy. I 've watered it maybe once a month with a cup of water from my veg reservoir. Other than that, it takes care of itself.

The donkey dicks from the GDP are going to need a few more days on the rack, but some of the stuff I chunked up was ready to be trimmed and jarred.
After a having a go in the bowl trimmer, she turned out to be pretty darn good looking.

Smells of grape and berries. Taste just like it smells with hints of pine and citrus in the after taste. The smoke is 100% smooth and light. It gives a "cooling" effect in the throat and lungs much like taking in a deep breath of winter air, or enjoying a cool, clean, refreshing piece of 5 Chewing Gum...
I'd put the stickiness up there with some of the best of them. All of this packaged in 100% rock solid buds.

I always compare heavy hitters to Gorilla Glue.
Although this doesn't have the heavy body medicated/pain relief that the Glue does, the Granddaddy Purple hits you just as hard in the head.
Very soothing, yet energetic. And the kind of floating feeling where you find yourself staring into the bathroom mirror trying to remember wtf you went in there in the first place...

This strain has won itself a permanent spot in my tent going forward.
Who was that GDP from ? That as well as that bud trimmer gizmo look like things I would like lol it's getting hard for me to trim these days glasses & strong light a must I prefer to trim dry but would do wet if I had to that trimmer or even a smaller one would work for me so would that gdp
