Welcome @DrTheenGrumb. Nice lineup you got there, and I like how you are trying your hand at RDWC. I've had several runs with a DIY undercurrent system. 1 inch line is too small. I run 1-1/2" and haven't had too many problems yet. I have to sideline the RDWC for a while due to other projects but I really loved that system, it is so LIVE and fun to watch. Monstrous plants. You are fine with cutting the roots if needed. If you need some visuals, I have several of the RDWC that I built for my last run in my journal. It wasn't the greatest run due to unforeseen circumstances, but the setup and whatnot should give you some ideas or inspiration on how it all runs.
I don't have them set up yet so I think I am going to make the holes and lines bigger. I happened to have 1 inch tubing so I just went with it but then realized I could be prone to clogs. Since I will be going to Rockwool cubes first I shouldn't need the buckets going yet but I am sure I will have a ton more questions. Thanks a ton for the words as the information will be so valuable for my future grows.

I just ordered an extra bag of Coco Loco by Fox Farms. 70% coco and 30% perlite. I will be using General Hydroponics Flora Series nutrients along with Fish Sh!t. The Fish Shit basically is a conditioner that allows the plant to uptake nutrients much easier. Typically, yields can improve up to 15% according to their data and grows.

An update on the seeds.

Checking the soaking seeds this morning, all but 1 has a small root coming from the shell. The Platinum Gorilla seeds have the longest so far. I am going to leave them be and later tonight maybe tomorrow morning, I will be planting them into their rockwool cubes for sprouting. So far, so good.

The system changes your title as you progress in posting which includes like scores and such. If you reach a certain point it will give you a CHOOSE YOUR TITLE then you can ask a mod to change it.
I was wondering how that works! Lol. I think I have the option now, but haven’t looked in a minute. I think at one point I did try without success, so I forgot about it ??‍♂️

If they're still soaking in a cup of water I wouldn't leave them there for too long after you see tap roots, they can actually drown. I'm not a soaker anymore so I'm not sure how long you can leave them anymore, but when I did I always moved them to their medium as soon as I saw the tap.

I do 24 hours and I believe standards are 48. I use the soak to soften up the seed so it sheds a little easier when the little ones are getting started. Most of that is negated if you have enough friction through the medium as the seedling stretches out and opens up tho.

If the tail gets too long, unless your splitting your rw, can be tough to load?
