THT's Random Trees 12/12 from Seed

The Cackleberry at F5 is vigorous, and consistent, and for me consistency is key. Only the best will be chosen to take it to F6, as many grows as it takes fellas.
Here's the difference between two days of growth, the vigor is real, and you can see how much material has also been removed.

Just now
20211124_101712.jpg

We've decided to name this strain "Red Bag"
The reason this came about... we have some friends who we share our bud with, and back when the cackleberry f3 started getting passed around -- the grocery stores only had these red plastic bags left for some reason, and that's what one expression of the bud got put into and given to friends. Friends don't generally ask or really care about the strains or names, but they all pretty much asked for more of that stuff 'in the red bag'. That expression between friends quickly became known as Red Bag and I kinda love it.

somehow I've managed to put 5 of these plants into a single 5 gallon bucket, apart from the lowers that need to be cleaned up, the stems are strong, the branching is wide and consistent, and internodal distances are ideal for my height restrictions.

The other bucket showing a lot of the same consistency,

More interesting things are in the works but honestly not interesting enough to take pics of yet.

What strains did I cross with Uptown?
Sweet Seeds- Sweet Amnesia Haze View attachment 27185 View attachment 27186
Mr. Nice- Super Silver Haze View attachment 27187
ACE - Panama land race (pink pistil pheno) View attachment 27188 View attachment 27189

Greenhouse Seeds - Arjan's haze #3
Swami - NL5/Haze F5 sativa pheno
Crockett - Lemon Banana Sherbet
Crockett - Tangie
THT - Dirt Stick
THT - CackleBerry F2

If there's more that I am forgetting ill edit here later.

The first one we dove into was Super Silver Haze X UTB - which we called Super City Haze. All expressions took after the mom, there wasn't really much of an influence at all from the UTB male. They were big and pretty but nothing special in my book. View attachment 27191

Thoughts on Samie's strains - they have many landrances
So I think you mean Swami right? We'll to be honest, I was disappointed with every NL5/Haze I ran from them, maybe more so because I was hoping for something else, but also because they lacked a real flavor and bag appeal. I also ran Nigerian Blue, (Nigerian X Blue Orca Haze) and never saw a female but used the male for some chucking, results were underwhelming to say it nicely. I have a few more swami strains and I hold out hope there could be some solid fire in there, I haven't had good luck with Bodhi strains either though and lots of people have..

I rubbed elbows with SourStrawberryTangie.
I knew her in that second.

Six wet, six up, six strong plants. Some are sexed out. Hurt to cull that male, but with that tall stack of seeds you sent me, I am happy to just keep pop'n them off.

I didn't even see that I had already posted these pics on my thread.. must have been high as hell

of the 3 Thai landrace seeds (right side) that survived, all three were females (for now, las time I ran this strain I had one major herm.)
I was really hoping to get a male but that time has passed. On the left side are two Hawaiian punch females, the other seeds either did not make it or were males/culled

Red Bag (cackleberry F5) are just about to start flowering, solid wall of green.... doing what I can to keep the undergrowth cleaned up, already getting those classic red bag smells all over

6 females and 2 males which is the best ratio I've had so far.

Not too much to report on today, but heres a quick update
Red Bag
Starting to flower now id say.

Hawaiian Punch(left) and WOS Thai Landrace

The Hawaiian has great bushy structure, good short time to turn around to flower, and already getting some promising early trich smells.
20211206_160152.jpg

Three distinct structures on the three Thai.
One very thin leafed, stretchy and fast turn around to flower, the other two much more wide leafed and branchy with a longer natural veg time. Hazy smells coming from them I am pretty excited.

Last is this little gem of a tent...one 5Gal with 3 females, GPS Copper Chem and Purple Mountain Majesty, and Crocketts Sour Strawberries.
on the left is a Cuban Black Haze male. Let the party begin.

The Hawaiian punch and Thai landrace are starting to do the thing

The Hawaiian punch - Aromas are consistent across the two ladies, clean floral smells with a bit of a musky tone, not super loud but a pleasant smell

1639617111990.png

1639617221841.png

The 3 Thai landrace ladies have some variation in smells size, speed and structure, but so far so good.

1639617416953.png

There is one that stands out right now, it has some smells very similar to the Columbian gold.. fastest to flower and loudest by far of the three

Each of these 5 will get a little bit of pollination from the Cuban Black Haze male.

I can't wait to see what the CBH ends up like on your end.

Nothing very unique about the stem rub I can say.. nice growth, branching is strong and it was quick to turn around to flower, I'm sure between the two of us we will see a female soon enough.
Hawaii'n had a great week !
Thicking up nice.
You said it man, they really stopped stretching and went all out toward flower.
Afte looking at your journal, I think im going to try a 12/12 from seed run next year. It would be perfect for our setup. Nice looking plants!!
It is the way, I've been 12/12 from seed for something like 10 years nows and Ill never go back. I do not think you'll be disapointed.

Another week down, Progress is good
Thai Landrace - frosty with great terps

And a very interesting structure, Great for a sea of green perhaps

Red Bag F5 - lots of seeds, only really expressing one structure at this point as you can see, lanky and thin with TONS of branching.
1640116985217.png

starting to frost up - the smell is ridiculous already. Smaller buds and a bit longer flower time but yield may be offset by the sheer number of buds.
1640117186768.png

Here's a look at some clones I've recently acquired. BLURPLE WARNING!!

ECSD from Shoreline Genetics - looks ugly but its finally rooted and growing. I got this as a cutting and really neglected its need for humidity for a long time.
1640117511763.png

Wedding Crashers X Kush Mints also from Shoreline - also received as a cut but it didn't mind being in 20% humidity as much. It was slightly flowering when I received so its still getting back to veg. There are trichs all over it and it smells phenomenal.
1640117645447.png

Piffcoast farms - NYC Piff S2 #3 - I shouldn't have to tell you how excited I am for this, but in case you were wondering.. STOKED. Its recovered from the shock of 4 days in darkness during transit and is growing fast. Piffcoast describes this cut as being slightly less sharp and more 'wet basement' than the original as it leans more towards the NL5, but also says this one flowers faster than the others. Really excited.

Thai's are really frosty and loud, yield is going to be outstanding.
1640734065652.png

Hawaiian Punch on the other hand, much shorter and beefy sized buds, more on the quiet side, still sporting fresh floral and linen smells.

Check out this Purple Mountain Majesty, solid structure, fast flower, rock hard nugs and thick papery leaves. A great physical specimen.

Looks like fire!!! I'm really curious to see what your Thai does. I've got a Thai Chiang Rai x Pakistan in the chute this round and am very curious to see if will look like what your Thai is doing.
