Hi
I am glad i found it... my 28 x 28 x 62 (80 x 80 x 150 cm) was revegging on day...56 of bloom...glad is saw it...let it run about 9 more days and it was going stupid and pulled the light and noticed the cob holders were melted and its causing a weird reflection and hot spots (STRESS !!!).

Here are some pics of the light.

I want it back working. The light is using Bridgelux Vero Gen 7s 2 X 100 watt cobs in 3500. I think i will change it to 4k.

do i need 2 new cobs? and do they have the holder thing or do i need cob holders? I am coblicated.

Crazy they both did it...in the future i will not turn it to 11...maybe to 7

I can buy cobs and holders no problem...digikey has it all. I just want to be sure to get the right thing the first time...and maybe i want to see what the driver is because if i can get it to drive a board light..i will get a board.

The fixture is so nice...

Cobs are done for me...i will sell my last 2 citi fixtures soon as i am done getting vegetables going...we are going to 26F tonight and that 4 x 1 citi cob...it cant flower for shit anymore but man it can keep seedlings warm :D

Boards don't dim...or strips. I like them better.

If you think about it though...focusing all 100 watts of energy into 1 tiny light....or 120 watts of energy over 95 chips...the board has to be safer

I believe there is a god...and for some reason he loves me...

I had a 315 blow up and not catch fire and a timber 2 vl melt and not catch fire...and i am not tempting fate...i thank the higher power that gave me the vision to see the problem.

I am not even mad... :D

I am truly amazed that the light shift around resulted in 1200 watts in bloom and i still have heat issues at 80F outside temps...what a day.

:D

Oh if i dont figure it out....godbud AND starfighter are 50% stretchers...and i have an HPS and an XXXL buster hood...and im not afraid to use it (2 brand new ushio super bloomers too).

KIZMET... Maybe i am already dead.

Looks like an over-driven cob on an under rated HS. I dont believe its the holders or the cobs themselves at all. Ive been using the same Citi 1212's and BJB holders for about 5 years without as much as even noticing a tinge of off white color on any of the 8 cobs or holders. Id be totally suspect of the heat transferring capabilities of the heatsink that is used or possibly the thermal paste/pad used for those 2 cobs. Just my .02 of course, but glad you caught it none the less.

I cannot fathom Timber putting together a system that was capable of overdriving the thermal management.
I would NOT recommend lighting that up again.
Somehow a gap in between the heatsink and the cob formed, maybe the paste failed after time, screws may have came loose from hot/cold cycling.

Tell me, exactly what driver was running that unit? HLG-185H-54B????It's been a long time since I've thought about COB rigs.

Just call Timber. They will fix it. This is a known issue w timber. I've had to return a light to them for the exact same reason. They also don't use lenses anymore because they were melting as well. Just glad you didn't have a fire. You might have to pay shipping there but Dan will cover return shipping. Good luck.

OMG....the reflectors are held in with 2 little allen screws...but you need shorter ones to replace them (to compensate for the thickness of the reflector holder).

The light is ACES again....Now i can put it back in the 28 and put that board in bloom :D Bloom Room is back to MAX 1300 watts.. Next I am taking the scrubber off the extractor to see if it fixes my heat problems. There is NO requirement for me to scrub the exahust. i want to see if it makes outside smell dank :D

The reflectors came with the light but Dan said we do not reccomend them...now they no longer provide them.

The reflectors can get hot and cause that effect...and one of them i crumbled the plastic off with my fingers. Once i find a very tiny allen wrench...and a pair of smaller screws i will get it back together.
