Tincture fans?

Hitting 1 ml Topanga wedding tincture right now under the tounge. There's more heat than taste, but what I taste is pretty good.
It's wierd.......I don't like smoking the pheno of TW that I grew out, but it's my fave tinc so far. Better than what I do like to smoke.

skunky, if i want to make a long soak method and lack the goodies to distill what are some other ways to get to your potency level/thickness

The trick is to eliminate as much ethanol as possible.
I suppose ya could do a double boiler setup on a hot plate. Put a inch or so of water in a sauce pan, sit the jar of tincture in it and run at 170*f (79*c) and evaporate that way.
Slow but thats the way we used to do it in the last century.
Ideally you only want enough ethanol left to just suspend the oils.
Mine barely has a hint of ethanol flavor trying to peek through the thc when perfect and leaves crystal residue in the jar.
I can get mine so thick crystals float on top.
But i also apply vacum to my still to pull it over faster.

Hmm,, lets see.
If i do 50gms of flower in 1000ml of ethanol and divide i get 20, so 20ml per gm.
Then in my method i end up with approx. 4ml ethanol and the rest oils/terps.

I got 8 grams of sour diesel here and 1/4 cup of everclear. That's more than double the weed from the Master Wu method, we shall see if it's stronger. I'm going to make a batch shortly

In the link I put in the first post......I meant to point out that I do not leave the lid on the jar while reducing. It's OFF!
Has to be off to evap the booze.

You reach a saturation point where the ethanol cannot hold any more.
I would use 4 to 5 gms per 60ml max.

Just got done with the decarb, 1/4 cup might not cover that weed. In Wu's method it's 3.5 g's to 60 ml and it always looks to me that the alcohol could take more. I could also make a double batch of wu's and let it evaporate some. Hmmmmmmmm

The 1/4 cup covered, but barely so I added 1 more ounce of everclear which puts me pretty close to your max numbers. It's cookin, be done in 11 minutes

I wish chloroform wasnt so expensive.
It pulls all thc, oils and terps out but not waxs and chlorophyl so its not the dark green color.

This one's hunter green, lol! The batch is done 8 g's x 3 oz everclear cooked about 25 mins @170* F, recovered just a tit over 1 1/2 ounces tincture. I'm already buzzing but sampling is a must and this batch is good!

It is quite good. It is noticeably stronger. I also threw the spent material in a jar and covered w/EC. Let that soak for 24, just to see what was left. There was a little tan sand coming off it, but not much and not particularly potent when smoked. Still hot as fuck, it will mellow some in the jar. The older tincs taste better imo.

I ordered some boiling chips today to help in my distillation process. They prevent the solvent from super heating and bumping (boil over).
This way i can pull more of the ethanol off the oil/terps to concentrate further.
Results to come.

1/2 oz weed total & 8 oz everclear up front....... equals 240 maintenance hits, or 120 lets get stoned hits or 60 deep space shots for me.......doooooo the math folks There's more high in those four one ounce bottles than I would ever get smoking

Ive been playin with dosing, i prefer short shot for afternoon but a double if i start early in the day.
Im down to 30ml so ill be batching today.
I need to make 5 gallons of mash and pull a couple gallons of shine down. So much cheaper than store bought and soooo much more flavor from the corn and barley!
