Never heard the decarb itself before, do tell where this came from.

There is quite a bit out there about it out there on many sites........sometimes called a natural decarb. The theory being that it will chemically decarb on it's own in the alchohol, over time. Retention of terpenes was a benefit, purportedly.
In particular, there's a user on the edibles forum on grass city named PsychedelicSam who validates this no decarb method. I'm in the camp o,f if Sam said it, it must be true...........enough for me to give it a shot.

First tasting will be on the 6th of march

Tomorrow i will actually measure and make some.

The last batch was everything i could squeeze into a 2 cup mason jar....and then i really squz it.....Then i put in 2 cups of everclear and leave it in the ice cube maker ice.

maybe 7 days ago... by day 3 it smells like buds...works like a champ. Day 7 and 15 ml of that get me sleep.

That is undiluted....everclear loaded with THC... Is that you Pot Toddy. That batch was made with everything seedy thripy left into the FX (4 oz)

It is sativa HEAVY....not so sleepy its more a very intense stone that can help you build stuff...clean stuff.

I am going to make some with an oz of the most indica stuff i have coming up to knock me down at night.

The 416 rigby....its coming....hit it with both barrels.

I have 4ozs of undecarbed tincture sitting in 1200ml of ethanol. The extraction , vacum filter and storage is done. Lol, actualy i got up one mornin early, got baked and preceded to make tincture. By time i finished hand grinding the 4zs i drop it in the ethanol, oops, chit!!@#! So,, maybe this can help here.

I took it out of the freezer today and separated/strained out the weed. From a pint I ended up with a half pint of tinc. And since I just so happen to know where there's an eye dropper I figured I'd take a blast for scientific observation.
It's much lighter in color than the cooked tinc. So 1 ml under the tongue.........plenty hot! Not sure about any terps..it was hot as fuck.
That said..........I got a nice buzz from it. Real nice.........more than I expected and on par with a cooked tinc buzz. Now the 1/2 pint is back in the freezer. I plan on taking it to 4 months, and will check it, taste it every 30 days and report back.

Perfect timing on this update. I made some cooked tinct yesterday morning and was wondering how Willie’s freezer tinct was going. Logged on and you had an update. Sweet! How long did you leave the bud in the jars before straining? A few days? A week? I think I’m going to start a jar in the freezer tonite.

I want to update on the buzz for a sec...........I ended up being pretty buzzed off that 1 ml by the time the creeper effect ended. I was jammin....felt a little sativa wired, fwiw. I made that tinc w @SCJedi 's NS x Goji. and that was the first one I ran, so no experience with the buzz profile. That said......an upbeat buzz and not something to get you sleepy.at least not that round.

Ok, the process.............I took the weed out after 15 days and strained, took a little blast to check it out. Now, it's a little more than 30 days submerged, it cycles on the 6th. So a little over 30 days for the most recent taste test. My understanding is that it will improve up till 4 months and then start to degrade. I'm going to keep checking it out and see if it's a positive direction. So far the buzz has been better and the tinc lost a lot of heat it had at the 15 day mark..............which both are positive.

Start one.............I'd like to hear your take on it. My spidey senses think this is gonna work out.

Thanks for the details! I use the STX currently and stank up the house when I decarb. Ardent would help with that problem but I wanted to give this a go. I made a batch of only lemon Thai sativa a while back and it had me jittery like a cokehead. It was intense for a bit. I try to use the same strain for each batch as you mentioned. The indica/sativa can reflect on the outcome for sure.
Tonite I grinded up an oz of Womo (mothers milk x wookie) in 1 1/2 cups of everclear. Shook it up real good, put the date on it and stuck at the bottom of the freezer.
My doses are usually 1/2 shot glass or a little swig a couple times a day with the cooked tinc. Haha so we will see how it goes in about a month.

Yesterday was Day 60.

I got pretty much the same results as the 30 day test. This time it was not as electric or sativa like. Good buzz, but I have to say at this juncture that I like my cooked tinc better. Putting it back in the freezer for 30 more days and will test it again.
It's a lot easier to put under tongue when ice cold
Next month, if it's not as good as cooked tinc..........it will become cooked tinc.

Whoah.........I missed the 6th by 7 days, but I took the tinc out of the freezer last night....late.
5 ml mixed in about that much water and down the hatch. I remember contemplating my buzz and whether it was good and the next thing you know it was morning. I slept like a baby..........but now I don't really have ANY memories of what happened. So in the name of science.....I'll check it out again tonight.

I am realizing now that the tinc has never been reduced yet. That leaves me a couple of options to try and nail down the potency. One, is to reduce it by 50% and Two, is to cook/infuse it again. Probably gonna try both.
Meanwhile there is mucho cooked Topanga Wedding tinc in the apothecary

Last installment on the natural decarb experiment.

I pulled the tinc out of the freezer, a bout 8 oz, and tested it getting the same results. So on to reduction. I had to do that on the stove @ 170 degrees for 20 minutes. Prior to that point, I decarbed a half zip of diesel and added that for the reduction. That new infusion marked the end of the experiment. I figured I wanted to get some product out of the deal. And that worked................reduced to 3.5 ounces.

The buzz is good now..........however it's quite electric. It has earned black label status. DAYTIME ONLY!!! If you take anything from this bottle in the evening hours it's entirely possible to spend many hours in the middle of the night organizing the dust in your garage or something similar.

The non cooked tinc tasted like crap too.

Making some now, half gallon jar of buds last few months, decarbed it, mashed it just under the max line of that infuzium doohickey, trying some 200 proof extracohol, looks like 4 hrs. Then gonna let lid set off jar after straining and make some jolly rancher gummies tomorrow. Got the wrong dang size medium molds lol 1.ml. Gonna try to make em potent so you don’t have to eat 5-10 at a time lol

I have been making 50 50 tinc caps...WOW....2 of those and im sleeping...

30 ml of tincture (RSO style from decarbed buds in the ardent) 30 ml of grape seed oil. Make caps as needed for bed.

What made it all work was getting the right input...It must be that because everclear and alcool..well those were ok but this strathcona spirits 96 is crazy the difference.

2 caps at 7:45...bed with my wife at 8 up at 3 still very stoned to garden...ooo la la

and its real deal rso...stingers...80% plus thc with the source turbo...and grape seed oil to get it in the damned caps...working aces so far.

Decarb the weed and then freeze it.
Freeze the Everclear.
Wash weed with Everclear for 3-5 minutes.
(There are methods that use a longer deration.)
Sometimes called Golden Dragon instead of Green Dragon.

I've been making it for years and have been taking at least 2ml a day. 2oz 190 proof x 4oz decarbed bud (250F 30 minutes). I don't cook it during/after soak and will use it after a 30 minute soak to many days/weeks of soaking. LOVE all of it but after getting half way through this thread I'm thinking of cooking off some/half/more of the alcohol and make it even stronger (everyone says mine is too strong-whatever, lite weights).

I've allowed it to evaporate before and tried to vape the oil with so so results.

Dollar Store rice cooker set by an open window with a small fan blowing across it.
I let it go until I start to see solids floating.
The one I have is only 1.5 qt., takes a while to do a gallon, should've got the 3 qt.

Oh yeah........in fact I am due for some. As my tolerance builds I switched to gummies, and NOW I have gummy tolerance issues and switching back.

The best thing about the tincture is it's the only instant edible offering. Doubletap under the tongue and down the hatch.....you feel great in 5 minutes.......an hour later you are even better.....try and stay in hallways or places with railings, and move any fine china or perishable on contact items from your path to kitchen or bath or just in general
