Ok........getting out the bag of dirty tricks. An insectidal soap mix from Fels-Naptha laundry soap can be used in 2 ways

1) before you water..........go and spray down the top of the soil with the soap spray........It will kill a bunch while you wait for sticky traps and BT to work
2) The ones you missed in step one will fly...........you can shoot their asses right out of the air.

Pretty much, if you hit them they are done....somewhat satisfying ;)

nemotodes are a good idea.

I use this product now..it is made for cannabis.

33 bucks canadian for 2 applications that do my all my planters and my 4 X 27 gallon commanders of repurposed soil (Always)

Yeah I’m willing to give them a try . Sure sticky pads are ok but they don’t actually target the cycle . So your happy with your products effectiveness? Does it wipe them out completely or just reduce numbers ?

I use a few benny bugs to ensure garden pests are erradicated in an ongoing fashion.

Nemotodes and Hypostasis mites in soil. Swirskis if i see a few kicking around (they go all over you plants eating them out of the leaves), cucumeris flies for the tops.

Spray once a week with Jadam Wetting Agent and foliar feed (sometimes twice, man they love foliar silica).

And I am unrelenting...forever.

IPM FOREVER

And the full on assault works all the time correctly. I dont let up or i see a gnat or something. The only fliers i catch are cucumeris.

I was dealing with fungus gnats and found that using this wetting agent at a slightly higher dose really knocked them back hard, plus it’s good for the plants

Had some fungus gnats, and some thrips to deal with recently. Here's what I did.
Dr Earth Final Stop for foliar to the plant, soaking it down good, hand rubbing it to the tops, and bottoms of all leaves. Then doing the same for all exposed soil, even the little drain holes of the pots where soil is accessible. Literally drench the shit out of it. Repeated every three days for two weeks, DE & Cinnnamon on the top soil, and two spinosad soil drenches 10 days apart is what eradicated them for me.
Haven't seen a bug on them since, though it did take a bit of a toll on the plants while I was treating them. Had a good bit of leaf edge burn/damage to everyone from it, but they've all bounced back from it with a vengeance. Happy and healthy now. I wlll say that none of the plants were that large, so it was easy to foliar all of them very thouroughly.

Homemade EWC for the win. Started my worm bins last Autumn and I have more EWC than I can use! The best part is the Hypoaspis Miles, they eat fungus gnat eggs. Combine that with yellow sticky traps and there is no more problem!
