Thanks B, these plants fascinate me and I’m thinking of getting a long ceremonial pipe this year.

I’m thinking the patch needs redone this year. The first year from seed gave me the best leaf, the following years from letting them reseed, has resulted in smaller leafs. I have noticed lots of rogue tobacco plants in my neighborhood during the summer though and it always makes me smile.

Not sure which strain to run this year but if I plan on it, I need to order soon and get them going. I’m happy this thread popped up.
You sent me some and they sprouted but I failed to get them past seedling stage. Can't remember if they froze out or dried out, at any rate it was my own doing.

Just wetted soil this morning will be planting soon, I have plenty of nicotiana sylvestris to share and some alata but I didn't collect very much of that one.

They do spread for sure!
What do you do with your leaves after hanging them?

Ordered a grip of orientals from Victory. Will probably only start one variety for now.

Nice! I notice that the hummingbirds and butterflies love them.

After hanging them till they're ready, I just threw em into a bag. When I want to use one, I just spritz it with water and let it rehydrate. I never fully learned a proper cure or anything like that though. I still have the leafs from that picture a few years ago. I'll get them out and see if they're still usable.

I may have been over thinking things in regards to processing. Thanks for that.

Did you roll that little cigar yourself, too?
Sorry for the questions, I'm just getting amped. Gotta go smoke right now and settle down ,?

Perfect timing. Just found some tobacco seeds Strayfox sent us with a care package last year or so. They're yours if you'd like.

I didn't start smoking a tobacco pipe until 10yrs ago. Can honestly say I'm a better person since then. I do think it has it's benefits.

Actual tobacco talk doesn't start in this interview below until approx the 36min mark.
It gets wild!

Taking a break from trimming to roll up the fronto I rejuvenated earlier. It wasn’t an easy task. Not only is it very limp and moist, but it’s also stretchy.

That first one you posted was being viewed on a tiny phone in the sunlight with old eyes ...
Dummy me thought it was something like a Turkish Ootz cigar ????
Now I can see what's going on... that's just as awsome!!!

10yrs ago, I was perusing the seed racks inside the retail location of Native Seeds Search, and saw a pack of Southern Tepehuan Tobacco seeds.

I picked up a pack and grew a few plants.
Didn't do anything with them, as I really didn't have any idea how to go about things.

I saved a few seed pods at the time.
They've been sitting in a drawer for the last 10 years. Figured chances of viability weren't so great, but we have success!
