Total noob greeting

Hey yall, just posting g the intro as requested. Getting everything together right now for my first grow, going to be doing a 2x4 indoor soil grow here shortly once equipment shows up.....


.....and once I can stop waffling on seed choice! Ended up here in a roundabout way, started off on great lakes looking at stuff, got intrigued by a couple breeders (@Dino Party especially) and next thing I know I'm hitting the guest limit and immediately registering to keep drooling over all of the fantastic stuff I see here.

I know the common wisdom is start with indicas and indica hybrids, which I likely will, but my true loves are all sativa dominant with few exceptions (absolute sucker for some old school 90s/00s Florida/og kush, Bubba, etc.)

Can't wait to get started growing and posting with yall, and following some more rabbit holes in here.

Would I be stupid to try and run 2 strains first grow? Strains I have been drooling over are linked below, but gojng to do just two plants in 2x4, doing 5g fabric pots on auto bases, dr earth nute mix (super basic, just coco/perl soil for the most part and amended/dressed with their veg and their bloom), under two SF1000s in a 2x4. Buddy was so excited for me to get started he sent me the lights so can't argue with that.

So that said, two plants out of these, which would you guys suggest for first grow?

Right now I'm legitimately stuck between all 4. I'm leaning toward the thai/c99 and super car the most, but damn they all look so frosty...

Two different strains is perfectly reasonable.

Imho...
Stay away from new Brothers Grimm gear, imho.
They restarted from scratch stock, nothing is the same as the old gear. Tons of variation. Nothing special at all...


I like North Atlantics house brand stuff that they make themselves. Idk if those fit the bill, white label are often bulk sources cheap and unreliable.
They had Bahama Mama at one point, fems that would fit the Sat dom your looking for.

Also worth considering buying cuts. There's an online clones thread here. Might be better than just starting two seeds. I love seeds and popping seeds but you never know what you'll get.
From Sun Clones, you could grab Trop Cherry or Super Boof. And or Jack Herer, or whatever else.

I was just pricing seeds. A local guy has a cut for 25, and the seeds of the strain are 100 for 7. Well didn't make much sense for me to buy seeds when I can just get a cut... money wise anyways.

Much appreciated. Yeah, I don't know too much about the different breeders and my one buddy has been running his own clones pretty much for years so he's not much help either.

My only worry on clones is legality here, plus feels kind of like cheating 😂

E: but thank you for the sun clones rec, they do have a 4 for 98 right now....

Allows anything under 0.3 thc % to be sent anywhere but like 2-3 states anything from clones-flower with it being illegal. plants before flowering even if strongest won’t ever have above that. These sellers even will lab test their clones for virus and thc % and a lot of time will print that also. These companies like sun clone are huge nurseries that have to pay for their lic to Be able to sell as a legal tax paying company in their state .

not all clone sellers are created equal but I know sun clones def sell’s tons to legit companies and if they were selling bad they would lose soo quickly and be alll over online bitching .
 
Yeah, I just know with my state (fl) in particular they don't seem to care and will snatch shipments.

Far cry from spending my teenage summers in Michigan, helping my BiL grow outdoors. And by help I mean I schlepped everything from the truck to the woods and then broke a nug off anything visible when noone was looking.

But sun does have a clone of my absolute favorite dispo strain, which is fuckin tempting. But at this point I've changed my mind so many times I think I'm going to stick with seeds first time out, it's taken my adhd ass a month just to settle on HOW I was going to grow. I have a like 1/16 scale mockup of a rdwc set up because i was so far into that idea and then went polar fucking opposite.

Also helped that I got like 130lbs of nutes and soil at HD and Lowes for under 40 bucks because of season end clearance.

Not really, u want to get those clones super healthy, a cemented in mom in veg to take clones and than the clone form it to run in flower or otherwise u won’t have a clone. Also the plants seem to do better if u let them at least first trial to adapt to ur garden.

just saying if u want the clones for future I would highly suggest to make those first clones into moms and than take clones from them. Than that also gives ya in future the clones and learning curve to make rooted clones. the issue is if u find a gem/keep/ best smoke and if u don’t have clone it can def be a major issue .

i just know I lost many at start of growing cause I didn’t learn my cloning process and also making sure I got the stock before flip. If u don’t want a clone for future just keep clone in small sized containers once it’s fully rooted , keep up-potting from party cup size pot to 1 gal, to 3 gal and so forth. also taking tops will deter her for stretch and make her more bushy. I keep moms and plants for way longer than needed cause diff plants take longer to even catch up.

Welcome. Have fun with you're grow. The first few runs are just practice anyway. Good flower is a bonus.

You may need to plant a few more more than 2 seeds. 😉
A soil tent grow is an easy place to start imho.

I found a nice lady in the Dinoparty Triangle Kush S1s (fem.) So I may be partial to the Dino stuff.

Oh, for sure. I probably misspoke, I just meant two plants to take from seed to harvest. If I can get two out of my first seeds I'll take that, period 😂

And yeah, all of that dino party stuff looks killer and right in my wheelhouse for the most part. I don't suuuuper care about thc level but I definitely know the terps I have good relationships with and almost all that stuff is chock full of em.
