You could put them in soil if you would like. I like to add perlite to my seedling soil to keep it light.
If you waited another day to put them in cups that would be fine too.
As for the helmets, I’d give them an another day to see if they can do it on their own, if not tweez ‘em’. I’ve given seedlings a week to sprout, if I accident overwatered I let the soil dry out completely and water after that. Sometimes seedlings will die if overwatered…
Would I be stupid to try and run 2 strains first grow? Strains I have been drooling over are linked below, but gojng to do just two plants in 2x4, doing 5g fabric pots on auto bases, dr earth nute mix (super basic, just coco/perl soil for the most part and amended/dressed with their veg and their bloom), under two SF1000s in a 2x4. Buddy was so excited for me to get started he sent me the lights so can't argue with that.
So that said, two plants out of these, which would you guys suggest for first grow?
Twin City Titties: Booba x Black Light Bubba Beautifully stacking plant that packs on buds all the way up the colas, the further away the nodes are spaced, the bigger and denser are the buds that grow there. Strong branching on these ladies minimize the need for support. Early onset of stinky...
Super Car: Burnout Chem x Black Light Bubba Now here are some flavors that are a little bit different! Big round buds evenly spaced amongst cola’s adorn this lady, emitting odors of road tar, dusty road construction, skunk, and a hint of the purple cleaner smell. Think being stuck in traffic on...

Right now I'm legitimately stuck between all 4. I'm leaning toward the thai/c99 and super car the most, but damn they all look so frosty...
Imo, go with Dino's gear or the Grimm gear. Grimm has a bunch of affordable "testers" as well. Life is too short, and grow space to precious, to run white label gear from Nasco.

Pictured are one very happy super car and one SDxTCT. Trying to get the others turned around and soaked some more that I won't fuck up lol
Peeked before work this morning and the two happy girls still happy, and the rest at least aren't looking suicidal.
I had the hlg 65 at roughly 30", since I read numerous places that was a good height for seedlings. Last night I moved it down to apx 18", measured out at roughly 230ppfd (i think that's the acronym) via photone app (printer paper over camera as filter, per the app.) Within 3hrs it was a noticeable change to the girls, and this morning was a continuation.
Lessons learned at this point:
-Just because my bench is level doesn't mean the seedling tray i sat down was. This was the start of a lot of my issues.
-Put light on the sprouts earlier, and more direct. I didn't have a tent up yet because I thought I had another day when they popped (and doing shit after working 12 sucks), and I stupidly listened to some stuff about the light not mattering yet.
-The light matters. I can get away with them in the dome under a shop light if I put it directly underneath, but I think from here forward once the helmet comes off they go in veg tent.
-Somehow despite living in America's taint, having issues keeping humidity. Tent staying around 75-77*F but struggling to get humidity to stay above 55%. It's basically vent fan to help stabilize temp means humidity plummets. Cleaning humidifier I got tonight and hopefully have that up and going.
-Calm the fuck down.
-Wives get real funny when they see a giant box in the house and you get to play the "i swear it's not car parts this time" game.
Psh those boxes go in the garage til they get a slight coating of age so you can pretend it's always been there. Much easier.
Going out of town this weekend, and each day is dialing in a lil more so im much less worried.
If anyone read this far, how much is it going to fuck me these couple days with humidity going from ~50 up to ~65? They're not sudden or violent swings, but its been a consistent add water to tent same time light comes on, light cycle, humidity is dropping whole time until I'm home from work and the cycle starts again.
This is one of the sad SDxTCT, yesterday at 7pm. She had issues getting shell off from my mistakes, so 2 leaves didn't form fully. The brown on there is from the stuff inside the seed that I missed. She had stretched out about 4", and was heading sideways. Rigged up my hoops and got her straight. Stem was surprisingly resilient.
This is her this morning, 10hrs after I moved the light down and got her straight up and down. Pic is cropped from a bigger one taken from the view window, so it doesn't show as well but she looks much healthier and prettier today, with the two fucked up leaves starting to stretch out now.
Bagseed Ocifer (I'm still going to call it SRO, because it makes me giggle even if no one else gets it). This one was another that didn't want to shed, had to be forced, and barely popped up above ground. This was actually already a healthier version of her compared to the day before.
This is her This morning, again shitty crop from a bigger pic. Also starting to spread leaves more, looking a little more robust and better coloring. If this one makes it I'll be fucking amazed, it was my pick to not even pop.
Hopefully can update again tonight and fingers crossed they keep heading this direction.
Hey @iwentdoodie
Im glad you took the time to make an intro here in the introduction part of the forum, as you can see were a welcoming bunch here! You'll find if you start your own journal HERE you will have much more interaction and its a great way to show off your garden to a larger group of viewers vs someone who see this thread in recent posts thinking its just saying "hi".
