if I knew I would help ya, really wish I could help ya

no bash just a open minded suggestion: maybe there’s discussion boards or websites if you typed in your model and even put “ most common issues with *insert car model here*”

it’s a amazing On all the tutorials and similar issues people have, if I was you I would search ur model and the issue or most common issues and start there if your unable to get it fixed professionally.

sorry I dont have any mechanical knowledge on cars/trucks or I would offer, good luck!

Just came across this post @Capt's Farm . You’re in luck my friend. You have at your disposal a certified 26 yr and counting mechanic. How can I be of service?

So my 06 has never had a problem with the motor...I guess a month ago I went to Walmart and I realized my heater motor wasn't blowing... so I drove 30 miles to town and back.
I guess somewhere on that drive back my volt gauge went to nothing...

So a few day's later I was going to go to Lowe's to pick up wood to start the pups pens...
I got about 3 miles and realised I wasn't charging...I pulled over and pulled the pos.and the truck died..
So I was thinking alternator..

So I got one on line..rock auto and a new belt and a rear light ...

Well a 2 hr job took 6..to start with..
And I still have the same problem..

So either this new alternator is bad..I don't think so.or there's something going on with the heater and my charging system..

So I looked at the fuses but they look ok...there's relays in there I guess one big fuse that I hadn't looked into..
Cause I said fuck it and had to get back to setting posts..

So I'm not sure what to do at this point..any idea's what's going on????

Definitely check the fuses either with a test light or volt meter. It would also be advised to check the new alternator. I’ve had new parts out of the box be defective. Not a common occurrence but it happens. Let me do some research with the tools I have at my disposal and I’ll see if I can help you troubleshoot this and get it squared away.

I did 4 alternators in a truck once all of them were bad coming from the store. Last time I ever put a autozone part in my truck. Went to car quest for the 5th one put it in and finally problem was solved.

If you have a multimeter you can check the alternator for voltage across the positive terminal and the case of the alternator, if it reads the resting voltage of the battery, it's another bad alt. If it reads 13.7-14.4v the alt is good, and it's gotta be a fuse, or a corroded connection somewhere.

Your description sounds exactly like what I just went thru with my Pathfinder. I had the mechanics replace the alternator and it still kept doing it.

It turned out to be a corroded battery cable. Can't remember if it was the positive or the negative, but I've had it happen on a couple occasions over the years.

Being an '06, it could just be time, they could be getting too much resistance built up. Even the ones with 'sealed' ends eventually gum up. The corrosion can creep its way along the wire.

I'd remove/isolate your two battery leads and eliminate or confirm them with a voltmeter. Cheap fix if so. Hopefully it's something quick and easy like that and not a lot of more wrenching.

I'm not a certified mechanic, but I work for a parts house and do all my own repairs. Fuses and relays are always the first to check... Wires (corrosion) and connections (loose) next. That said, alternators can and do come doa. It's not typical, but it does happen from time to time... Never heard of the brand you posted so I don't have any input on that other than, I've never heard of it, so it may or may not be a good source/brand. But, your symptoms do sound like an alternator. Another possibility is the ecu...cpu...brains. Are you throwing any codes on the dash?

As far as the corrosion guess, I believe if it's on the positive, it's being overcharged by the alt, if on the negative, it's being undercharged.
