Just curious what peoples experiences are with light intensity for autos. Considering alot of folks run longer for lights on 20 24 hours etc I imagine factoring in dli they would use less light vs a plant only getting 12 hours of light. Any thoughts inputs on this?

I run them the same as photos so they end up the same size . I also noticed that when I do flip w the photos they are very quick to bud . I also have noticed that 24 will slow them from flipping. Seems they need some dark to initiate at least . Jmo ?

they have a place in your veg room...18-6 will produce bigger flowers than 12-12.

I think the trick to autos is the perfect substrate that allows aeration and the medium to not hold saturation so you can continuously use a ligher feed.

Like coco/perlite 50 50 or soil/perlite 50/50 or a bubbler dialed in.

And coco or water systems are preferred because you are limited in veg time. Clock starts when the seed cracks.

Hydroton/coco/growstones.

I am going to keep 1 or 2 going in veg so i can get the hang of them outdoors. They are the only outdoors i will grow now so rippers can suck a fat Canadian canoe !

I have some auto seeds on the way.... :D

Mephistos the 2 i grew out went 6 weeks of veg and that means you can top them and train them a bit.

They are fun to watch. And the added CBD makes the doobs hit nice. Grape Sky Walker is very good smoke. Tasty too.

Auto prefer lower nitrogen. You have to look at it like this, The auto is always in flower. Too much n will cause it to mature quickly, thus staying small, and to have leafy/ airy bud. My best advice is to take it slow and easy with them. If you treat them like a photo, you could easily get a huge plant with low quality bud, that smoke horribly. Threat them right and they can produce photo guality bud just like their namesakes.
Most auto are very resilient, however they stress easily to changes like defoliating, raising or lowering ph. Even food increases. Changes in frequency of feed. Light adjustments. The changes will cause your auto to slowdown as it has to readjust to the change. Same plant in a 1,2,3 gallon pot. The 1 gallon is very young and the other 2 are being prepared for harvest. Treat them right, and they will treat you right.

Run the necessary dli for the 20-24 hr time frame. It works I used it on those above. I only use 600 watts in my 4x8 this grow. And still needed to raise the Mars sp3000 to about 29 inches. 21 inches is too close for me. I
